You can explore 20 acres of wild lands around Laughing Raven and may view moose, bear and other wildlife. The views are spectacular and include Kachemak Bay, Harding Ice field, fjords, lower Cook Inlet, and active volcanoes. Ravens, eagles, cranes and many other birds are common visitors. Laughing Raven is the perfect place to bring your family and friends who wish to experience Alaskan adventures year-round yet enjoy luxurious, comfortable home on return from adventures.

About The Owner

I inherited this property and built Laughing Raven in 2000 from logs harvested from the Kenai Peninsula. I'm a neurology nurse practitioner and work in Anchorage but plan on retiring to Homer. In the meantime I'd like to share my home with individuals who wish to have an unforgettable Alaskan adventure.

Why The Owner chose Homer

I built Laughing Raven on property that was an original Alaskan homestead. I spent my summers as a child playing on the Homer Spit. Laughing Raven is conveniently located 3 miles from the center of Homer on 20 private forested acres with spectacular views and very comfortable accommodations.

What makes this house unique

You can sit by the fire place and plan many out-doors activities Homer has to offer. You can also just relax on the decks or in the hot tub and just enjoy the scenic views and observe the wild life.

An incredible retreat

What makes the Laughing Raven so special is that it's a modern cabin in the middle of nowhere, 5 minutes from downtown homer. Whether your an Alaskan like me, looking for a great place to escape, or a visitor to the greatest place on earth looking for an adventure... this is a great choice. We loved it, and, we'll likely be back. Don't look any further, do yourself a favor and stay here. The beds are comfortable and the heated floors are toasty. Enjoy!

Stunning Views...Beautiful Home

We spent a long weekend at the Laughing Raven and enjoyed every minute of it. The home easily accommodated two families with three children each and it is a beautiful and comfortable home. The location is absolutely stunning and feels so private although Homer is just a minute or two away. We visited a number of places in Alaska and Home was our favorite. There are numerous hikes nearby, ocean adventures available, and fun shopping on the spit. Plus, no matter what direction you look there is an amazing view. We would highly recommend the Laughing Raven for families or even small group retreats. The large desk and hot tub were nice bonuses too!

Perfect place to recharge your batteries

My wife and two young sons, along with three of my fishing buddies stayed here last weekend and had an awesome time. It was so nice to sit in the hot tub or in front of one of the two fireplaces after a long day on the ocean fishing. The home was beautiful and had everything you'd need except for the food you'd be eating. It was very clean and well kept up. I highly recommend staying here. We're already planning to stay here again next year.
