The Owner purchased this chateau / country house in 1975

We inherited Beamond House, Bellewstown, Co. Meath a Grade II listed Georgian residence built circa 1820. The House is full of character and charm and is set in rolling countryside with uninterrupted parkland views. We set about restoring the Garden Rooms in the house to a very high spec while retaining as many of the originial features as possible. Original features include; your own private entrance leading to a bright sunny interior, exposed stone and brick work, tongue and groove wainscoting, original old quarry floor tiles with reclaimed pitch pine floorboards throughout. A Jib door leads to a sheltered patio area, BBQ and garden. The Garden Rooms have been fitted with modern facilities including wood burning stove, central heating, dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer, electric hob, oven and microwave, flat screen television, DVD player, wireless broadband internet and much more

Set on the site of an old mill and millrace, Beamond is a fine example of a Georgian Period House with beautiful fine plaster work ceilings and chandeliers. The Garden Room Guests have their own the private entrance which leads to light filled warm welcoming high spec accommodation. The large family size living space is a bow shaped room with exposed stone walls, sash windows and working shutters. The living room features a peach tree beam, reclaimed pitch pine floorboards, wood burning stove with an old crane feature (used for pot hanging cooking in the past), comfy couches, and drop leaf hunting dining table. Books & games are provided along with tennis rackets, bicycles, and wellington boots if needed.

The old fashioned Jib Door opens to a sheltered limestone walled patio and BBQ area leading to the garden walkway and grass tennis court. Take a walk up the Bellewstown Hill to our local pub and see panoramic views looking North to the Mountains of Mourne, East to the Irish Sea, West across the fertile plains of Royal Co Meath and South to the Dublin mountains. Meander down to the river Nanny at the bottom of the garden or stroll through the fields and watch the horses, cattle and sheep grazing. Rest and relax in the garden or just sit and read by the wood burning stove. Our dogs may even join you for a bit of fun around the grounds

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here, the accommodation is excellent and it is obvious that a lot of thought and work has gone into it to make it an unique place to stay. Your advice on places to visit was very helpful, we got the Wicklow and Mourne Mts and enjoyed meals at Carlingford and at Relish. Our trip to Dublin,Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse and the Jail as well as Temple Bar was enjoyable and easy on the city tour bus. With so much to do we feel we have only scratched the surface and cant wait to come back again. Thank you for giving us such a welcoming holiday.
