Located in the beautiful upper canyon area has the feel of seclusion but is only a mile and half distance to midtown. The cabin includes: flat screen TV in the living room, TV in the master bedroom, dining table seats 6, 4 bar stools at kitchen counter, large deck with great views of river, and a BBQ grill. Wildlife frequents this beautifully located cabin; deer, elk, wild turkey and the occasional bear have all been seen in the area. The cabin is dog friendly and has a great fenced in side yard for man's best friend. The private courtyard has a hot tub for relaxing. Parking allows for 2-3 cars max. Cabin is non-smoking.

The benefits of this mountain retreat are being nestled in the pines while only one mile from shops and dining. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon sitting on the front porch. The river can be seen and heard and it is common to see wildlife walking around the property. Whether you are looking for abundance of activities or a true get-away from it all, this is the place to be. Ruidoso is still the true best keep secret. There are snow sports in the winter, horse racing in the summer and numerous year-round outdoor activities. Spend your day reading your favorite book in the privacy of the secret garden courtyard while sitting by the outdoor fire pit.

If going out is what you're looking for a variety of restaurants offer appetizing delights. From home cooking, exquisitely grilled steak or fine French cuisine can all be found within a few miles. Shopping includes Native American art, hand crafted rustic furniture, unique clothing and jewelry.

The majestic views or the solitude that comes from getting back to a simpler time can be found in Ruidoso. However, if it is fine dining and the glitter of the casino you want Ruidoso has that to offer as well

Peace and Quiet!

We stayed during the 'off' season and enjoyed the solitude the cabin offered. The Cabin was very clean, the kitchen fully stocked with dishes, cookware, even a slow cooker was available. We took our 4-Furry kidos with us and they enjoyed the dog run, deer, and the few passer by's that stopped to say hello. If you're looking to get away from the Large City hussle/bussle lifestyle then you'll find Peace and Quiet at Lazy Dog Lodge.
Our only issue was when we first arrived there was no power, this was quickly solved by resetting the main breaker for the cabin. Amenities not mentioned are DirectTV service complete with a DVR, BlueRay DVD player and travel size soaps and lotions. The cabin is a short ride to town, lots of shopping, art, antiques, specialty wine and cheeses, lots of locally owned Restaurants, Casino's, Hiking and they have a very nice Dog Park. O'Maley's Irish Pub was our favorite place to visit, awesome service, good food and they offered a full bar which is rare in Ruidoso. We took a day trip to Alamogordo to visit the Museum of Space History, White Sands, Valley of Fire and the 3 Rivers Petroglyph site. Visited Roswell to check out the Aliens and spent two days walking the main street in Ruidoso. We visited the last weekend of April through the first of May, the weather was wonderful-cool nights and warm days. We are looking forward to our next visit, hopefully during the winter so we can check out Ski Apache.

Cozy cabin- perfect for families and pets!

This cabin was perfect for our family and 2 dogs. Our two daughters loved staying in the room with the twin beds. The hot tub was awesome to enjoy while snowing and after a long day skiing! The deer are everywhere. As we got ready to leave a group of deer came right to us and even ate out of my daughters hands! The whole experience was great! We hope to be back!

lazy dog review

It was our first stay at Lazy Dog and from the beginning of the reservation process to the sad ending of having to leave was beyond all of our expectations. The property and setting was absolutely beautiful and the accomodations were excellent. We highly recommend Lazy Dog to everyone that is looking for that special getaway, you will not regret it. The Great Outdoors!

We really enjoyed Lazy Dog Lodge in Ruidoso last week. It was close to the downtown shops, grocery store and restaurants. The place was comfortable and convenient and we had lots of fun hiking and "tobagonning" on the hillside right by the lodge. We were there at the right time to enjoy the snow. The hot tub was great and the steaks came out great on the outdoor gas grill. Our "South Texas" dogs also enjoyed the outdoors and the snow. Great Place. We are looking forward to going back next year. Once again - THANKS. I will highly recommend Lazy Dog Lodge to others.

Great value!

I just got back from a deployment, and wanted to spend some quality time with my family, away from it all. I got just that with the "lazy dog" cabin. The cabin had all we needed... dishware, flatware, sheets, internet, hot tub, and a dog run, which enabled me to bring my dog.

It's off Sudderth, which was convenient for our shopping needs. I would recommend this cabin to my friends, and would rent it again, once the opportunity arises. Thanks!
