Excellent.

Beatiful property. Everything in the home has been recently remodeled with very high quality finishes, appliances, dishes, glassware, etc. Truly a top end home. Great location within 10 minutes of town. Understandably, a large security deposit is required for the property, but it was returned within just a few days of our departure. We will definitely plan to stay again.

Beautiful home, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5
We booked the house for a 4 days in July. Four adults and two kids. Aaron, the property manager was very helpful and responsive during the booking process. We were able to check in early to catch a World Cup game - Aaron double checked that ESPN was available before we arrived.

The house is beautiful, set halfway up the hill on a very quiet road and surrounded by trees. Every window looks out onto lush green. There is space for two cars next to the garage (the garage was available but we didn't use it) and two more spaces around the front of the house up the hill at the side of the road.

There are two bedrooms, one with an ensuite and the other right next to the second bathroom. The living/dining room and kitchen are on the top floor along with a half bath (toilet). The basement has the laundry and tankless heaters along with a fold out sofa-bed a bit like a futon.

The kids slept in the basement the first night then split up because one found it a little too warm - it was a particularly warm weekend, the rest of the house was cool enough.

Cellular reception is a spotty. Wifi available.

San Francisco is close enough to pop over the bridge for dinner or even just for dessert. When we stayed in, the kitchen had everything we needed and there are two Wholefoods and a Safeway within a mile or two.

Muir woods is just up the road. I recommend going early - the parking lot was full and traffic was creeping up the hill. There are boardwalks through some of the valley and it is an easy stroll for those that are not into hiking. The trees are truly majestic. We followed the signs for Oceanic View Trail that lead us on a two mile climb to the actual Oceanic View Trail. Where the two trails meet you can see a small triangle of ocean in the distance between tree covered hills if you are lucky - we saw mist instead. It was an adventure made all the more fun by the ice cream from the gift shop at the end of the afternoon.

We all had a great time and our surroundings only added to the experience. Aaron was especially helpful and made sure that I received the deposit check back after our stay.

I highly recommend this VRBO.

Lovely Mid-Century Home in Mill Valley

Great home for a few people to stay in. Kitchen & breakfast area especially charming. Just a short, beautiful walk to downtown Mill Valley. One minor issue was resolved quickly and attentively. Overall, a great stay.

Phenomenal Mill Valley vrbo

  • 5 of 5
We recently stayed at this Mill Valley vrbo, and we could not be more pleased!

This is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom modern house. We had 5 people, so 1 person slept on the couch. We were in Mill Valley for a wedding, and we were able to comfortably entertain during the day. The indoor and outdoor spaces are wonderful - there are 2 outdoor decks; one on the lower level which can be accessed by the master bedroom and by the back door, and one off the kitchen which has a gas grill. The kitchen has an open layout and is fully equipped, and we used the grill as well. The bedrooms have closet and dresser storage, and the house is decorated with modern artwork and furnishings. We used the full-size washer and dryer in the basement, and they thoughtfully have linens, body wash, shampoo, washing machine and dishwasher detergent.

In terms of location, we were able to walk to downtown Mill Valley, including the Outdoor Art Club (the wedding venue), the Mill Valley Inn (where other guests were staying), and Boyle Park. In terms of parking, there is space for 2-3 cars. There is a gravel driveway that accommodates 2 cars, and then if you have a smaller car you can park in front of the (locked) detached garage. Otherwise, we used the public spots that are marked with white lines. The neighbors had guests over, so sometimes we had to park further up the block.

The security deposit is higher than the other vrbo's that I looked at, but they were very good about returning the deposit after our stay.

I would warn people about the cellular reception and the stairs. The cellular reception is poor (not just in this vrbo, but also down the tree-lined street), but they do have wifi. And there are many stairs. There are stairs to navigate just to get to the front door, so keep that in mind.

We were very happy with this vrbo, and the pictures and description accurately reflect this beautiful home. The management company was very responsive, and I would highly recommend this vrbo.

This house is wonderful and so is Mill Valley

  • 5 of 5
The house is absolutely beautiful, and it is equiped with everything you need for a wonderful stay. We wanted to stay longer when we had to come home. Mill Valley is heaven. There are plenty of wonderful places to eat and shop. This was our first trip to the San Francisco area so we had to do all of the tourist stuff while we were there. On our next visit we hope to be able to spend more time in Mill Valley and the surrounding area. The people were nice and friendly, and the area was incredible. I don't know why you would stay in San Francisco when you could stay in such a wonderful area just across the bay. The drive into town is short and easy and we had no trouble traveling back and forth from Mill Valley to the places we wanted to visit in San Francisco.
The manager was easy to deal with, and the home was incredible and very clean and well maintained. The description was very accurate. The house would sleep 4 adults very comfortably and it could sleep a couple more if they wanted to sleep on a couch. I would definitely recommend the home to any friend or family member traveling to the area.
While we were in the area we took a tour of Sanoma County through Max Napa Tours. They were awesome to deal with and the maximum number of people they will include in your tour is 6. Therefore you are not on a tour bus with 20 people. It also allows you to visit the smaller wineries. We lucked out and my husband and I were the only people on our tour. It was incredible. Evan was our driver and he took us to 6 lovely and very small wineries that we would have never seen on our own. Max actually called me before our trip and designed our tour around our personal tastes. We also spent a good portion of a day at Alcatraz which was incredible. I would highly recommend going on the tour. You must go through Alcatraz Cruises which is operated by the National Park Service. You must make reservations well in advance. I believe this is the only tour that actually lands on the island and allows you to tour the island. We ate breakfast at The Lighthouse in Sausalito. It was wonderful. If you go be sure to sit at the counter. We ate dinner at Vasco's in Mill Valley which was obviously a favorit of the locals and of ours. We also ate at Scoma in Sausolito for sea food. We drove through Muir Woods from Mill Valley over to Muir Beach then drove up the Pacific Coast Hwy to Stinso Beach and took the Panoramic Hwy over Mt Tam and back to Mill Valley. It was an incredible drive.
