Modern and updated in design but warm and welcoming in decor, this unique property is sure to delight the most discerning or artistic guest.
Marin County is casual yet high-end, one of the most expensive regions to live in the United States. When you stay here, we promise you'll enjoy 'living like the locals do'!
Title says it all. Great property in a way cool town. You can hang there or venture out into wine country or the coast...the options are limitless. The home itself is absolutely immaculate and extremely comfortable and is easy walking distance from downtown Mill Valley. I would go back in a heart beat. Also, the property management co was extremely helpful and professional in our dealings with them. This was my first VRBO experience and I can only hope they are all as seamless as this!
We loved this home from the minute we walked in. Very close & walkable to town, down a gorgeous lane full of redwood trees. The home is an art lover's dream mixed with mid century design charm.
Comfortable from the bed to the bath towels. Like living in a tree house!
I'm hesitant to write this review because too many others might start renting this house and it won't be available for me again or it'll get priced out of my reach! This is vacation rental #7 for me, with stays in Europe and the states and this one is now at the top of my list. I don't know where to start.
The 2 bedrooms are on the lower level and the living and kitchen are upstairs. This might not be ideal for someone with a physical disability.
The home is beautifully decorated and it's as if they thought of everything that one would possibly want or need in a home away from home. I'd say 5 star hotel meets home.
The beds are wonderfully comfortable with high thread count sheets. I'm guessing 1000. The bathrooms are stocked with shower wash, shampoos and conditioners, so no need to pack those. The floors have thermal heating throughout, heated towel rack, steam shower in the master and patio access from the master. Well stocked with lots of towels, unlike many homes that barely have enough.
The kitchen has great cookware, lots of dishes, serving platters, utensils, great knives and top of the line small appliances, including a mini food processor which came in handy for the pesto we decided to make. Plenty of kitchen towels, gas grill with extra propane tanks and accessible to another deck with table/chairs.
Even the futon in the basement is nice, though we didn't use it.
The living room is very comfortable with throws around as it can get a little chilly, which I like.
There's a cute library/office with lots of books.
There were 4 of us, but it never felt cramped.
It's 5 mins from Whole Foods, 10 from Safeway, a gelato shop, lots of restaurants, etc. An hour from the wine country, 15 mins to Sausalito, Stinson Beach, and the city.
Love, love, love this place. It doesn't get much better than this!
Our family of 5 have stayed in many rental homes throughout the years, but I can unequivocally say that this was the most beautiful, clean and aesthetically appealing. From the steam shower, the beautiful original art, to the built in espresso maker, it felt like we were staying at a wonderful spa. Great communication from the managers, helped as well. Highly recommended!
Beatiful property. Everything in the home has been recently remodeled with very high quality finishes, appliances, dishes, glassware, etc. Truly a top end home. Great location within 10 minutes of town. Understandably, a large security deposit is required for the property, but it was returned within just a few days of our departure. We will definitely plan to stay again.
We booked the house for a 4 days in July. Four adults and two kids. Aaron, the property manager was very helpful and responsive during the booking process. We were able to check in early to catch a World Cup game - Aaron double checked that ESPN was available before we arrived.
The house is beautiful, set halfway up the hill on a very quiet road and surrounded by trees. Every window looks out onto lush green. There is space for two cars next to the garage (the garage was available but we didn't use it) and two more spaces around the front of the house up the hill at the side of the road.
There are two bedrooms, one with an ensuite and the other right next to the second bathroom. The living/dining room and kitchen are on the top floor along with a half bath (toilet). The basement has the laundry and tankless heaters along with a fold out sofa-bed a bit like a futon.
The kids slept in the basement the first night then split up because one found it a little too warm - it was a particularly warm weekend, the rest of the house was cool enough.
Cellular reception is a spotty. Wifi available.
San Francisco is close enough to pop over the bridge for dinner or even just for dessert. When we stayed in, the kitchen had everything we needed and there are two Wholefoods and a Safeway within a mile or two.
Muir woods is just up the road. I recommend going early - the parking lot was full and traffic was creeping up the hill. There are boardwalks through some of the valley and it is an easy stroll for those that are not into hiking. The trees are truly majestic. We followed the signs for Oceanic View Trail that lead us on a two mile climb to the actual Oceanic View Trail. Where the two trails meet you can see a small triangle of ocean in the distance between tree covered hills if you are lucky - we saw mist instead. It was an adventure made all the more fun by the ice cream from the gift shop at the end of the afternoon.
We all had a great time and our surroundings only added to the experience. Aaron was especially helpful and made sure that I received the deposit check back after our stay.
I highly recommend this VRBO.
Each October, it's all about the Mill Valley Film Festival, which brings a wide variety of filmmakers and celebrities to town. The Mill Valley Art Festival happens in September. More information can be found at the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, online or right downtown.
