There were 3 families – 9 people in total staying at this property. There was plenty of room for all of us. The house is nice. We enjoyed the movie room and the exercise area and used them quite a bit. The kitchen was fully stocked and we cooked most of our meals in the house. We made good use of the laundry room – so convenient!!!
We had a few concerns; 2 of the 5 bedrooms were in the basement – we felt the locks on the 3 outside basement doors were not very secure – that was a concern for us with children sleeping in the basement. Each bedroom was nicely decorated. We found the furniture in the living room and the movie room looked great but was quite 'used' - not comfortable to sit on. The hardwood and newer carpets looked fantastic but the living room carpet was very dirty. The tub between bedrooms 2 and 3 leaks after every shower - even when you think you have cleaned it up - more water leaks out later - there was frequently a puddle of water. The bathrooms were tidy but not clean [there were little bits of garbage in the cans, one toilet seat was quite dirty when you lifted it up, there were a couple of combs in the drawers and quite a bit of hair in a few of the drawers - tidy for sure - just not clean].
The property itself is beautiful - there were many deer walking around and birds singing – even a salamander paid us a visit.
This is our third trip to Branson – we just love Branson. The previous times we stayed we rented condos and were quite pleased but we thought it would be nice to stay all together this time and it was. We had read the reviews and were quite excited to stay here. We have rented previous VRBO and they have been immaculate. In summary - the property is nice and the house is nice – it has some great features – but we all thought it should have been cleaner for the price we paid for renting it as well as for the cleaning fees. We don’t regret staying here but will rent somewhere else next time.
Owner's Response: I’m glad that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your feedback and four star rating. In regards to your concerns: there are the same locks on the doors downstairs as there is upstairs. Safety is of great concern for us and wouldn't ever do anything to compromise that. We lived in that home and our young children slept in those downstairs bedrooms and we always felt safe. I know that some people do not like sleeping away from their children, and I totally understand. Fortunately, the house is over 5,000 square feet with 5 bedrooms to choose from and I suppose someone could have parents in one of the downstairs bedrooms, while the children slept in the other downstairs bedroom, so that they felt more secure being closer to their children. None the less, there are many bedrooms to choose from for your comfort level. We assess the home frequently to insure that the furniture and items are well kept and appreciate your input. Aside from the good cleaning that the house gets after each checked-out guest, the furniture and carpets are deep cleaned every spring (and at additional times when needed). We have had a meeting to make sure that nothing is overlooked. Though we couldn’t find a leak in the tub you spoke of, we have made some adjustments to insure that this does not become a problem. I’m sorry if it was for you. We will be sure to have the trash cans cleaner as well as the drawers, though we do that routinely anyhow, we just don’t want anyone feeling as if those little details are ever overlooked. We aim for immaculate, not just tidy! I’m glad you found the property to be beautiful, we love it too and really enjoyed our deer, birds, salamander, etc. I’m glad you don’t regret renting our home and wish you would reconsider staying with us again in the future. As I said, we lived in this home for many years and loved it and always felt safe and enjoyed the large home in which to spread out in and enjoyed the vast property in which to explore. It was great to have the gym, play room, and movie room when all we wanted to do is hang out.
