Perfect Mountain Retreat

My wife and I recently spent a wonderful 8 days at the Cottage at Sparkle Lake. We enjoyed the cottage, which was even more attractive than advertised, very much, and loved the setting -- a beautifully landscaped lot overlooking a scenic muntain lake -- and located 2 miles from downtown Highlands. We even experienced a bear sighting as a young black bear who had ventured down the mountain to visit the lake scampered across the driveway and back up the mountain after spotting us proceeding down the drive. Great fishing, hiking, scenic views, restaurants -- and cool mountain air. And the owner could not have been more congenial and helpful -- even to the point of mailing to us some apparel that we had inadvertently left behind. We could not recommend the Cottage at Sparkle Lake more highly and definitely plan to come back for more!
