We are serious gardeners and stewards of our land. Our farm brings us much joy and we enjoy sharing the bounty we produce with others. We are resident hosts and are inviting you to visit our life. You may have complete privacy or choose to take part in the activities of the farm. We welcome children and enjoy including them in the discovery of the farm.
Elisabeth Marshall purchased this cottage in 1984
Our farm provides nearly everything we need and it is close to beautiful beaches, exhilarating hikes, good bike riding, a world-class restaurant, friendly neighbors. You will not find a comparable place on the island.
Fabulous, fabulous! Wish we could have stayed for weeks. Beautiful appointments personal touches everywhere. Comfortable and beautiful. Thank you for our warm welcome to Lummi Island.
A lovely home with lots of room. Well appointed, immaculately clean, stocked with the essentials for cooking etc, and gracious hosts. I'd definitely return.
What a lovely spot. Very clean, great kitchen with everything you need to cook a good meal and friendly hosts. Our kids really enjoyed their tour of the chicken coup (ages 9, 6 & 4) and then a breakfast of fresh eggs! We biked around the island and enjoyed some lovely beach exploring.
A fantastic spot, so relaxing and tranquil. The cottage is enormous and very well appointed. We loved the covered deck and private setting. Elizabeth and Mark were incredibly hospitable and gave us some great suggestions as to where to buy supplies on our way up from Seattle. We loved our stay and would be very happy to go back.
The cottage was an incredible find! The kitchen was amazing, the bed very comfortable, and we loved the heated floor in the bathroom. The space is quite large, impeccably clean, and filled with lots of artwork. Lis and Mark made us feel so welcome. Our timing was perfect to get to see the peony garden in bloom.
Three girlfriends and I spent a weekend at Full Bloom Farm, and we're already talking about returning. Though it's not on the beach, the farm has bikes to use and the beach was just bike ride away, and all the lovely gardens around us meant we had a beautiful view anyway. The open kitchen/living/dining area was perfect for hanging out and we all took turns napping in the hammock. Elizabeth and her husband were gracious hosts the couple minutes we ran into them around the property and we felt very welcome and very, very relaxed. I'm an avid cook, so I especially appreciated the kitchen--its layout, how well-equipped it was, and all the delicious meals we prepared there.
What a great cottage and Island to relax over the Christmas break. Tons of hiking and running on this beautiful Island. The restaurants and small grocery store also stayed open. But we mostly cooked and took advantage of the well stocked and equipped kitchen. The place was clean and had more room than we expected. My wife and I will be back to check this out in the spring/summer months.
Full Bloom Farm is located on an idyllic NW island in the Salish Sea. The views from the farm are open and expansive, across grass pasture and fields of peonies, deciduous and evergreen woods, stream and pond with abundant wildlife. Resident and migrating birds abound; song, sea and raptor.
Beaches are pebble and sand with driftwood and seaweed. In the summer swimming is possible on west facing beaches.
The island community is friendly and modest; people here are helpful, but private. We have a spectacular community library, an elementary school, a general grocery store, a post office, a charming cafe, and a world-class restaurant. There are numerous small businesses ranging from construction to massage. Many artists have studios here and sell their pieces from them. Artist Studio Tour weekends occur four times a year.
At Full Bloom Farm we sell fruit and vegetables and cut flowers in season at our farm stand, peony roots year around as available, and eggs always.
Outdoor activities are numerous. There are wonderful hikes, from easy to challenging. We have a very effective land trust organization which supports several publicly accessible conservation areas and a community garden. One of the conservation areas borders our farm on two sides.
Bike riding is safe, easy and fun! We offer guests three bicycles, (small, medium and large), in tuned-up condition for their unlimited use.
Lummi Island is a bit of a food mecca. The Willows Restaurant has been named one of the ten restaurants in the world worth flying to! The chef is a wunderkind who learned at Noma, in Denmark: named the best restaurant in the world. The Beach Store Cafe is supervised by the same chef. While it is very inviting, it is also quite humble and unassuming; the food is good, nourishing and creative.
There is a lovely, well-attended church on the island (Congregational). It is a abutted by an historic graveyard and backed by woods and beach. Our annual Harvest Festival is held there.
