It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or an unforgettable vacation with family and friends. This unique and spacious home is nestled between the blue Caribbean and the luscious Mayan jungle. To insure your total relaxation, our staff is available 6 days a week to clean and prepare dinner upon request. Cost of food is not included.

With meticulous attention to detail, Casa Perla reflects the rich color, texture and artistry of the Yucatan. It features unique hand stenciling throughout the home as is traditional in the beautiful haciendas of the region. All of the doors, cabinets and furniture are locally handmade with the finest craftsmanship.

Three of the 4 bedrooms have king-size beds and the 4th has 1 double bed and 2 singles - perfect for children.

Kitchen detail: Casa Perla boasts two well-appointed kitchens with gorgeous Mexican granite countertops. You will arrive to find each fully stocked including a coffee maker, blender and microwave. The downstairs kitchen is poolside so you are just steps away from an ice-cold Mexican beer or chips and freshly made guacamole.

Each of Casa Perla’s kitchens have a view of the jungle and the stunning Mayan sunset. It’s not unusual to see an amazing array of colorful birds. Our binoculars and books will help you to identify them though it will be easy to spot our gorgeous pink flamingos!

Outdoor detail: In addition to our verandas, Casa Perla has a rooftop deck with stunning 360-degree views. Wake up early and listen to the waves crashing on the shore as you watch the sun rise over the Caribbean. In the daytime the verandas are a perfect place to appreciate the flora and fauna of the Mayan jungle. There are literally thousands of rainbow-colored flowers and birds. And to see the sun set over the ancient Mayan jungle is breathtaking.

Casa Perla is only 50 meters (165 feet) from the water’s edge. Guests enjoy great shelling along the secluded beach or spectacular snorkeling and scuba diving directly in front of the house. If you visit between mid-May and November you can experience one of nature’s most unforgettable sights – Loggerhead, Green and Hawksbill turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in May and the hatchlings dash for the sea in November.

Tankah Bay is only 7 km from the ruins of Tulum and the town of Tulum as well. The ruins of Coba are only a fifty minute drive from Tankah and the world famous ecological park of Xel-Ha is only fifteen minutes away. There are a multitude of cenotes in the area, which are large aquifers, both subterranean and surface level where you can take a refreshing swim in the heat of the day. Playa del Carmen, with all its shopping and nightlife is forty minutes away and Akumal, another beautiful beach town famous for turtle sightings only twenty minutes away. Tankah Bay is surrounded by a coral reef that can be reached either by boat or by kayak; a wonderful snorkeling experience.

Beautiful Mayan Escape

We had a wonderful time at Casa Perla del Mar. The house is a spacious: 4 bedroom/6 bath. We shared the home with another family and had plenty of individual space as the floor plan had 2 large common areas and 2 fully equipped kitchens. The beds were very comfortable and house was very clean.

The best part about the house is that it is a true vacation. The staff was very friendly and professional. Loved not having to make beds or clean the kitchen. On the first night, we had the staff cook for us. It was nice not having to leave after traveling all day. The kids were able to enjoy the pool while the adults relaxed and settled in. The other nights we enjoyed the local cuisine; it was nice to get out and watch the town of Talum come alive.

A highlight for me was seeing the leather back turtles lay their eggs . It was amazing to be only feet away from these endangered species as they struggled up the sand and buried their eggs. (When viewing, you should place a red film in front of the flashlight as the white light scares off the turtles.)

The kids loved going Xel-ha. It was an park about 15 minutes from the house. We spent the day snorkeling, tubing, and zip lining.

The ecological park offered one of the most incredible beaches I have ever seen. The sand was powdery, white and there was few people there. (There is a small cost-we paid approx. $12 USD for 4 people.)

Another activity that we enjoyed was swimming in the cenotes walking distance from the house.

I would like to return as I would love to explore the ruins and go diving in this area.

Words Can Not Describe!!!

My husband and I stayed here with friends and family for a week in February. We wished it was a longer stay! This house is priced affordable with every luxury one needs on their Tulum vacation. Each side and story of the house offers a different and remarkable view of either ocean or jungle. We would relax in the most comfortable patio furniture with a coffee each morning....amazing sunrise and wildlife, specifically birds. The rooms were spectacular. Each very quiet and private with the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced! I have stayed at all-inclusive resorts all around the caribbean but after our stay at Casa Perla Del Mar, I am looking for more wonderful off the beaten path type of places. Tankah Bay is a wonderful place if you like the feeling of your own private beach. Everything you need could be right in this bay for you, or you can drive or cab into Tulum. We would have wonderful meals at the house prepared by Italy or walk down to Blue Sky for a pizza and cocktail. They can call a cab for you right from the restaurant if you didn't rent...but I do encourage getting a rental. It is very easy to navigate airport to house in tankah bay or house to tulum. We miss our beautiful vacation house and have just begun planning our trip back!

Stayed here with friends and had the greatest time. The house is beautiful and very well appointed. Felt much more like a home than a rental property. Beds are super comfortable, sheets and towels top notch, furnishings and artwork really beautiful. The home's location is great because you feel like you're "a ways away" from things but everything you go to see and do in the Tulum area are very close by. I hope I get to got here again sometime.
