Honeymoon in the Barn

This was our first trip to Italy. We flew into Florence, collected a hire car and arrived at the farmhouse in one hour, without GPS ! Our hosts gave us a really nice welcome. Then we drove up to the village shop for supplies, and waited for it to open, at four pm . (Great ham, hand-sliced and paper thin , and excellent Vin Santo!) We booked the little restaurant there for the following night, and it was good - wild boar pasta sauce ! We took our first excursion into Radda in Chianti. Great views over the vineyards, a lovely little town ! We used the internet cafe there and had gelati to die for. (Then we found that the Barn
has wi-fi, so it wasn't really necessary.) Each day we visited a different village or town, seems every village has something of historical nterest, plus a good restaurant. We did all the tourist things, like visiting Siena, and San Gimignano (very crowded) the famous butcher in the piazza in Greve in Chianti and the Chianti hilltowns, visited the Prada outlet, the Ricasoli winery, even went to San Sepolcro to see the Piero della Francescos .
t was a great week, and we loved the Barn, perfect place for a honeymoon.
