This new, three bedroom, three-bath vacation home in Montana's Paradise Valley looks out over the Yellowstone River and is a short drive from Yellowstone National Park.

Guests can walk out the door and go fishing or floating right from the house at the private Yellowstone River access. This immaculate vacation home is offered year round and offers you all the comforts and conveniences of home. Soak in your own private riverside Hot Tub and bring your laptop to surf the web.

Yellowstone Lookout South offers three bedrooms all with outstanding views. The master bedroom is on the lower level with a private bathroom/walk in closet, a 32 inch flat screen satellite tv and secluded Yellowstone River patio with a new hot tub. Also on the lower level, you'll find a bedroom with a full bed and 3 twin bunks. There is a large bathroom just across the hall from this bedroom. The main level includes a bedroom with a queen bed and attached bath.

The complete kitchen, with dishwasher, range, microwave and all the cookware is open to the dining area and living room. Enjoy your meals at the dining room table or head on out to the deck and to enjoy your meal while savoring the river view. Additional chairs are available to seat up to 8 people.

Relaxing will come easy on the Yellowstone Riverside deck. There you can hear the mighty river sweeping by, notice the sudden flip of a trout's tail, watch a bald eagle perched in the Cottonwood trees across the river and see drift boats, kayaks, canoes and rafts float by. You'll find a comfortable patio set and gas BBQ grill along with a bench and hooks to hang your fishing waders.

In your free time, you'll find a large selection of DVDs to enjoy, a 40 inch flat screen satellite television with DVD home theater system in the living room and a 32 inch flat screen satellite TV unit in the master bedroom, as well as a variety of games and books. Or, take the short walk to the Yellowstone River down a path to enjoy the view of your private river frontage from your picnic table on the river's edge.

There is a cordless private phone with answering machine, and laundry facilities including washer/dryer, iron, ironing board and detergent at this home.

No smoking is allowed in the home. No pets are allowed on the property or in the home without prior written approval.

Many guests use Yellowstone Lookout South as a 'base' from which to explore the entire area--all of Yellowstone, Grand Teton Park, the incredible Beartooth Highway and the communities around Bozeman and Livingston Montana.

Plan a trip into Yellowstone National Park, just a short drive South through Montana's Paradise Valley. With a little luck, you can hope to see deer, elk, bison, moose, and bears and other wildlife. Allow time to take a trip through the park to see Old faithful as well as the other amazing Geyser activity. Tour the hotspots of Yellowstone; which include: the Boiling River, the Grand Canyon, Old Faithful, the Petrified Tree, Norris Geyser Basin and Mammoth Hot Springs.

Chico Hot Springs, one of Montana's famous resorts, is just 10 minutes from the house; where you can enjoy anything from hamburgers at the grill to five star dinning -make sure to save time to enjoy a soak in the world famous healing hot springs of Chico. If you're up for some dancing plan to visit the Chico Saloon for live music on the weekends.

Winter at Yellowstone Lookout Riverside Home: The only car-accessible Yellowstone Park entrance that remains open year-round is located at Mammoth (the North Entrance). That plowed road makes for a fun drive in the winter—you can explore the Tower Falls area, the Lamar Valley and Cooke City. You may even want to stop and ski on some of the many groomed cross-country ski trails which are located along this road. If you want to view wolves, check out the Lamar Valley in the winter. It is fairly common to view wolf packs from road turnouts using scopes or binoculars. In Mammoth you can rent snowmobiles, cross-country skis and snowshoes and take snow coaches that transport you to Old Faithful or take you on tours to other destinations.

In addition to soaking in the hot pools at Chico Hot Springs, another favorite winter activity is to experience the outdoor natural hot spring pools at Boiling River located just inside the North entrance to Yellowstone. You'll also find a public skating rink near the North entrance at Mammoth.

About Ronda

We have lived in Bozeman, Montana (about 1 hour from the home) for over 25 years. We think you'll like the Paradise Valley and location right on the River. We sure do!

Ronda purchased this house in 2010

Why Ronda chose Paradise Valley

We bought this property in February 2010. The home is situated right on the banks of the Yellowstone River. In fact, many people say it feels like the river runs right through the living room. The river and mountain views are fabulous and you might even enjoy the great fishing right from the property.

What makes this house unique

The home is loaded with all the comforts of home and the views from the riverside hot tub are amazing! The location offers a great sense of privacy while being situated in a small neighborhood of homes in the Paradise Valley. You'll find easy access to Yellowstone Park and the fun towns of Livingston and Bozeman, Montana.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The information and directions provided were excellent. What a lovely log cabin--one of the very best we have stayed at, especially the hot tub!! The views and proximity to the Yellowstone River were both exciting and relaxing--sipping a beverage from the rocking chair on the veranda or from the hot tub. Eagles, geese, cedar waxwings, mourning doves were everywhere.

Everything was spotless and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and lots of room for our family to be either all together--or space to hang out.

The trip to Boiling River in Yellowstone was so great--what an experience. Thanks for the info--just don't forget to bring water shoes (and your camera). Lots of buffalo for entertainment as well.

Thank you for such a wonderful holiday for our family.

Great Adventure

  • 5 of 5
Excellent stay, Cabin was great everything you need is there. Beds were VERY comfortable, Emigrant General Store has everything you need, is on it way to the park, very convenient. Only draw back was lack of access to the river in front of the cabin for the kids to fish (narrow path cut through the Russian olives to the bank) while we were at the cabin (most of the time we were at the park). There is access just a couple hundred yards up the road that the boys could walk to and fish.

Owner's Response: Thanks for telling us about your stay. It sounds like you had a great time! I guess the river was too high to enjoy private fishing right from the home. I am glad you found the nearby public fishing access. I hope you will come back to stay at one of our Yellowstone Lookout Homes again soon.

Great Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5
Our family of four from Michigan met my parents and my brother and sister-in-law at this great house on the Yellowstone River. The house was immaculate and each of us had a comfortable bed (my husband and I had so much fun sharing the loft with our kids)! Everything we needed was provided! We had a few adventurous days in Yellowstone and it was so nice to come back to the house to relax with the family. We felt at home and were very pleased with this trip! We highly recommend this house and Mountain Home!

Yellowstone Lookout Cabin, Pray, MT

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at the Yellowstone Lookout Cabin. We stayed 12 nights. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. The beds are very very comfortable. The cabin provided all the necessities. We had all the kitchen items needed to fix our meals. We enjoyed the view of the river from the back deck. We watched the osprey catch a large fish and two deer swim across the river. We enjoyed the unbelievable view of the stars from the hot tub at night. (no light pollution there) The cabin is very quite and private. We watched a mother Robin feed her 4 baby birds until they left the nest. The Cottontail rabbits are so cute. We rescued a baby rabbit, so small it fit in the palm of my hands, from the outside basement window well it had fallen into.
We visited Yellowstone Park, Chico Hot Springs for a white water rafting trip and horseback riding. We drove the Beartooth Highway over the summit more than 10,000 foot elevation.
i hope to return to the Yellowstone Cabin someday. i would highly recommend this cabin .

Missouri Family

We stayed at this beautiful place in May for almost two weeks and loved it. Wish we could have made it our own home. Little bit of a drive (35 miles) to Yellowstone but seemed shorter the more we drove it because the road is a very nice one. Always saw elk and deer on drive back to cabin each evening. We loved the park and loved seeing so much wildlife, including of course buffalo, elk, deer, black bear, grizzly several times with cubs, wolf pack and moose and I'm sure more I forgot. We went to every entrance of the park and each had a different setting. The granddaughter loved the hot tub along with her parents. So much room in the cabin and the porch was great. We have so many great pictures of sunsets off the porches. Everything was very clean, beds were great and the wash room was a life saver for keeping our laundry done. We had lunch and dinner several times at Cowboys in Gardiner when we left the park of an evening with really good food. The little convenient store and gas station down the road from the cabin was real handy whether than going back into Livingston. The staff there was really friendly. It was nice to be able to make our reservations so early with such ease and the staff were great with any questions or problems we had. Thank You so much for our wonderful vacation and a very nice place to stay while enjoying it.

Wonderful, Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Lookout Cabin for 5 days during the winter months. The pictures of the cabin are beautiful but they don't do the place justice. You need to see the full view around the cabin to really appreciate it. The mountain valley the cabin is in is breathtaking - gorgeous mountain peaks everywhere you look. The hot tub overlooking the river and the mountains is very private and a magical place to sit.

We were worried about the cabin being remote and inaccessible, but its extremely easy to drive to and from the cabin. Close to town, beautiful hikes, Yellowstone National Park, natural hot springs, etc.

The cabin was clean, well maintained and extremely cozy. Lots and lots of room. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. Detailed instructions were left for everything in the house. The owners were fantastic to work with - really kind and accommodating. They made everything comfortable every step of the way.

This was one of the most perfect vacations of my life. Don't hesitate to stay here if you're considering it. Beautiful, beautiful place.

The vacation rental home is located right on the Yellowstone River just North of the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Be sure to ask about pricing and details about our other 2 homes also on the Yellowstone River in the same general area. See Yellowstone, fish the world famous Yellowstone River (just outside your door)and stay in style! Enjoy your own private riverside hot tub after a long day of sight seeing, hiking, biking, fishing, rafting and more!

The home is open year-around and offers a wonderful, cozy, immaculate lodging option for those wanting to explore the many recreational and scenic opportunities waiting for you in the Yellowstone area in the summer, fall, winter or spring. Chico Hot Springs resort is very close by and offers a complete spa and some of the best dining you will find anywhere.

Golf: Here is a what some recent guests had to say:

Beautiful views of the mountains and Yellowstone River! Lovely home and accommodations. We really enjoyed the spaciousness, open feeling and large view windows as well as tasteful decorations and furnishings. Very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen (we had more than enough of everything for 8 adults), generous and high quality supply of linens. Thanks for a re-newing stay in a great environment inside and out. This home is a wonderful place for both winter and summer visits. The home has a very comfortable and nice 'feeling' inside. It was fun to stay! We will be back!

Ski: When winter sets in and snow falls on the nearby mountains, the Yellowstone River is fabulous to watch as ice chunks float by. Downhill skiers can head for the slopes at Bridger Bowl or Big Sky, while cross country skiers and snowmobiles can find fabulous trails in the mountains nearby or in Yellowstone Park. After a long day of winter play, the cozy gas fired wood stove and hot tub will be a welcome sight.

The magnificent North entrance to Yellowstone Park is a short drive to the South through Montana’s fabulous Paradise Valley. The only car-accessible Yellowstone Park entrance that remains open year-round is located at Mammoth (the North Entrance). You’ll find that most of the Yellowstone Park roads are closed to normal vehicle traffic during the winter, from mid-December through mid-March. As such, it makes a winter visit an outstanding time to take a snow coach ride, cross country ski or snowmobile through the Park.
