EAGLES REST LODGE VINTAGE LODGE BUT WITH ALL COMFORTS AND CONVENIENCES

My family had a wonderful time in this very cozy cabin. The cabin is rustic, in a quiet neighborhood, but with all the modern conveniences we needed. The hot tub was awesome, relaxing and clean. We did scrub the outdoor grill ourselves and it worked just fine. There was no propane in the grill when we arrived so we called Richard and it was delivered within an hour of our phone call. We made great use of the fire pit on the nights is did not rain, roasting marshmallows and cooking hot dogs. Our 11 year old loved running around the small pond and climbing on the rocks in the front yard. We all enjoyed playing ping pong, the table is in a room across the driveway and has lighting. The living room is large and comfortable, the kitchen is modern with a lovely view from the dining table and the front porch has the most comfortable rocking chairs! The surrounding area was beautiful. We went apple picking at 2 different orchards, one had a corn maze which was fun. We also went to Chimney Rock, downtown Hendersonville and the Brevard area during our stay, all within a 30 min drive from this home. We have family in the Greenville SC area and have rented many homes in NC and SC. Hendersonville was our favorite spot, and we loved coming back to this cabin after our daily adventures.

My husband and two children (13 and 17) spent last Chrsitmas and New Year in that cozy place. The cabin is very comfortable and spotless. The pond and trees around the cabin make the perfect place to enjoy and get warm with the sunshine while seated in the living room in a chilly morning. The hot tube was perfect to enjoy and the iced pond was a bonus. Even if you are not in the mood to drive around, the place is perfect to stay inside or have a walk enjoying the views.
Our little dog had plenty of room to explore around.

Our family of four (me, my wife and two teen age boys) really enjoyed our stay at Eagle's Rest. All of us had a fantastic vacation there.

The pond in front is nice, the living quarters are clean and comfortable. It really feels like a home. The transaction was very smooth, and the place was well appointed for cooking and lounging around.

The property is park-like and very quiet. There are neighbors, but you can't see them from the house. We arrived at night, and my GPS didn't quite get it right, but close enough to figure it out eventually.

This is a great vacation cottage. It's not the Ritz Carleton, but it is a much better value than any comparable hotel room, especially for a family.

I did have a few minor issues, but not enough to take away any stars:

It was pretty warm this summer so the upstairs was a bit uncomfortable without A/C, but the lower floor A/C was fine. Also, internet access is pretty slow, and I had to go into town to use McDonald's wi-fi to do some work. Also, no mobile phone reception on AT&T. My job requires me to check in at least daily, even when on vacation.

The outdoor gas grill was unusable, and we would have liked to grill outside a couple of nights.

The kids ended up sleeping on air mattresses downstairs, because the upstairs beds were too short for them,and it was cooler downstairs. They are both almost 6', and the two non-master bedrooms are really for smaller people. The standard king bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable and cozy, but the other bedrooms are not really suitable to grown-up sized people.
