We used to live in San Francisco and for the last 12 years have been living in Madrid, Spain and we purchased our dream vacation home in Samaná to spend our summer vacations with our friends, but would like to make it available for other families that we are sure will enjoy it at other times! This last summer we spent 2 months there and had several visitors with kids that absolutely loved it. You should count on renting a 4x4 vehicle to visit the many beaches in the area, but that some of them have challenging access!
Jim Novack purchased this house in 2010
Samaná is still a perfect mixture of tropical paradise and civilized comforts, we have good friends in the Dominican Republic that recommended this luxury development for its quality, security and absolute perfect location to boat, fish and lounge on the virgin beaches of white powder and azure ocean water.
You have the whole range: lounge on the deck with ocean view, deep sea fishing, sailing, driving by 4x4 or boating to the nearby virgin beaches and dancing at the world-famous Café del Mar in the nearby marina.
Where to begin! My three girlfriends and I absolutely loved staying at this villa. The house itself is gorgeous and spacious. The housekeeper's services are attentive and first-rate. The owner is a quick and thorough communicator. The resort deserves the accolades it's received. All services from the hotel were available to us, and were very prompt and helpful. One of us received a massage at the spa and it was excellent. The restaurants are all tasty and mostly reasonably priced. The market is a bit more well-stocked than some of the previous posts had led us to believe. If you are considering staying in this area, this is highly worth your consideration. You will need to either rent a car or use taxi services to get around. I have provided the owner with contact information for the local taxi service we used as it was excellent. This area of the DR is so worth exploring: the beaches are gorgeous, the whale watching opportunities January-March amazing (that is the main thing that brought us here), and Los Haitises national park quite stunning. And there's more that we didn't get to in a week! Enjoy!
We had an excellent exepiriense visiting Samana and staying at this villa! We had stayed at many all inclusive resorts and wanted to do different for my wife's 50th ! The villa didn't disappoint ! Was like staying at a Five star hotel, or better! Your own cook!! Martina was able to cook anything we wanted! Perfect for relaxing vacation and beaches lovers! All facilities on site!! Don't be afraid to go to market to get frech produce !! The owner kept good communication and was very helpful !! We will do it again !
This place is amazing! I would recommend anyone that plans to go to samana to stay here, the view is amazing and the pictures don't justify the real beauty. The place definatly stay here again.
My family and I spent a wonderful vacation at this place, the villa is beautiful, very comfortable and nicely decorate. We were a party of 9 and the place was perfect for the entire group. The owner is very nice to deal with. We
spent our days visiting Salto el Limon, Los Haitises, Cayo Levantado and the beautiful beaches near by. I will definitive recommend these villa, and plan to go back. Great place and great vacations!!!
My family & I stayed here so that my mother-in-law could enjoy the whale watching for her 80th birthday. We were not disappointed by anything in our trip! The villa is immaculately beautiful...very luxurious and comfortable with separate air conditioners for each room, and luxurious bathrooms en suite for each room. The resort grounds are quite beautiful, and we all felt very safe with the guarded entrance, and security who patrolled to ensure all was well.
The staff we met at the bar, and marina store were so helpful and very kind if we needed information or directions to local places.
Martina was lovely to have there. She cooked us meals, including breakfast and dinner a few times...all delicious and wonderful to have local cuisine. She cleaned for us, washed any clothing we needed.
We took a day trip to Cayo Levantado, and drove all over the peninsula to see the beaches and terrain. One day, we met a very lovely man who had docked his boat in the Marina, and offered to take us all out to go whale watching the next morning! We were lucky enough to see a mother & her baby, and followed them for a hour, watching their movements. I even saw a whale from the balcony of the villa, although I am not sure how frequently the whales come that far into the bay.
I'd highly recommend this place for anyone. The villa was just the right size for six people, the furnishings beautiful, the personal pool & patio comfortable to sit out on. It was a great trip and great place to stay!
