Where to begin?

We spent the 1st 10 days of this past December in Vieques. What a delight. Wish I knew how to attach some pictures, they are great. The house was perfect, the covered deck is better that you can imagine and then a large roof top deck too, felt like we were the luckiest people in the world to be there. You don't need a car to get around the town of Isabel but you will need one to go to the other side of the island. Isabel is a quiet sleepy town with Paso Fino horses being ridden bareback on the streets. All kinds of restrauants but it is hard to beat a leisurly meal on the covered deck at the house.. A small lobster boat comes in near the ferry most days, with that days catch, its a couple of blocks from the house. THE BEST LOBSTER WE HAVE EVER EATEN. Lots of local charm in town, don't miss the Fort and get a book called VIEQUES by Gerald Singer. Poke around, you will find all kinds of places and things. When you get a car go every where you have time to go. I recommend at least 2 weeks, 10 days was not enough. The town of Esperanza has charter boats and one very private crescent beach after another nearby. DO NOT miss the Bioluminescent Bay at night, you will be talking about it for years. I'm turning into a tour guide but it's hard to know where to stop. Sadly many of the islands we have been to in the last few years from Jamica to Ke Tao in the Sea of Thailand have been ruined by over use, huge hotels and polution, this one has not. I have to stop somewhere but there is so much more to say. Oh yes, we took the ferry from Puerto Rico to Vieques and flew back on a small 6 passenger feeder airline. Flying was much easier and beautiful views but the ferry was fun too just took more time.
Have fun out there, We know you will.
