Charming Peaks Island cottage, fully furnished, including grill and hammock. There are 3 large bedrooms, sleeping 6-7, eat-in kitchen with pantry, a comfortable living room and a renovated bathroom. Well behaved dogs are welcome. If it gets chilly, a Renai heater will keep you comfortable. There is a private deck with spectacular views off the master bedroom which has a queen size bed. Bedroom 2 has a double and bedroom 3 has a double with a single. All mattresses are new. The cottage is immaculate when you arrive.
Large covered deck facing West provides for great sunsets, or quiet moments watching boats and ferries go by with the Diamond Islands in the background. Located on quiet road, 10-minute walk to the village, 5 minute walk to the beach where seaglass is abundant. We are also near the school with the latest playground equipment and basketball court. Great spot for a lemonade stand in front of the cottage for the kids. The village has a great island grocery store, four restaurants and an ice cream store.
A short ferry ride takes you to the island and back to Portland where restaurants, museums and shopping abound. But once on the ferry, the hectic world is left behind. And once on the island there is lots to do. You can rent bikes, kayaks, walk the island, stop to sit on the rocks with open ocean views, sail and play tennis at the TEIA Club or just sit on the back porch and read. There is an island library and various kids camps throughout the summer.
