America's only living-coral barrier reef, which runs the length of the Florida Keys, begins about five miles offshore. Shopping: Islamorada has many boutiques and small charming shops. Wide World of Sports, also in Islamorada, has some of the best outdoor clothing and fishing equipment in the area. They also have a life-size aquarium and a replica of Hemingway's boat inside the store. It is a must see.
