This lovely home boasts of 100 year old hardwood floors with all the necessary furnishings designed to make your stay a memorable one. This home is spacious. The master bedroom is 360 sq ft. The yard is a whopping 1,000 sq.ft. This home is located in the Columbia Heights quadrant of the city. This is a neighborhood that is ideal for travel via public transportation because the Metro is less than 2 city blocks away from the home. There are local shuttle services that may be boarded one block away and these shuttles go to some of the tourist sites. There are buses one block away and many taxi cabs as well as airport shuttles are often in the neighborhood. Please keep in mind that this home is not equipped with a parking garage.

There are over 25 restaurants located within a 3 minute walk of this duplex.

The ''Gala Theater,'' provides live entertainment, The World Sports and Health Club provides an outlet to exercise and the wonderful Day Spas (two) are just a few attractive features in this revitalized neighborhood. The Metro train is by far the most popular attraction in the neighborhood as it provides transportation to all the tourist sites. There is a wealth of restaurants with all sorts of food including Chinese, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, and a list of chain restaurants to include Ruby Tuesdays, Chipotle, Subway and Five Guys. There are local restaurants that specialize in other international cuisines and many sidewalk cafes to include Star Bucks. There is a town square where fountains exists, artwork is on display, local music groups offer free performances and there are benches and tables where one may sit to enjoy the free entertainment and the night air.

There is a large supermarket, named ''Giant'' if you decide to cook in the lovely remodeled kitchen in this lovely home.

This apartment home is a duplex style apartment on the 1st and 2nd floor. There are four rooms on the first floor: the master bedroom equipped with a queen sized bed with lovely cotton Egyptian sheets and a 32'' flat screen television. There is also a writing desk beside the window. The renovated bathroom showcases the original tile and there is a large and modern kitchen, a laundry room, an outside deck and a spacious yard. The 2nd fl has a large bathroom, a bedroom with a twin bed and a den with one set of bunk beds. The den has 3 large windows that look out to the beautiful greenery in the yard. The queen size bed in the master bedroom on the first floor is not the only bed equipped with fine linen. All four beds in this duplex unit is tastefully designed with pure white, Egyptian cotton linen.

There is a 26'' flat screen television in the second floor bedroom.

This beautiful home is truly immaculate, comfortable, and affordable. It is decorated and designed to embrace the tired traveler.

What makes this condo unique

There is a grocery store directly around the corner from the home. There are bike rentals in front of the grocery store. There are loads of great local and chain restaurants as well as the METRO, a 24 hour IHOP, a 24 hour Pharmacy at the CVS, Starbucks, a great Yoghurt shop and a townsquare where local farmers sell fresh produce and unique art items every weekend! All these wonderful places are steps away from the home.

We rented two apartments in building for 11 parents/students. The accommodations worked out well! Extremely clean which is highly important to me! Apartments had everything we needed to cook meals and the extra conference room was perfect as our main gathering area. The yard was wonderful and we liked the surprise of having some firewood ready for us so the kids could make s'mores. Stores and metro very convenient. Will contact owner again for our next visit to DC!

Convenient, spacious, clean and comfy

We had a great stay with our 5-year-old and 3-year-old. Lots of space, comfy beds, and the bunk beds were a hit! We biked everywhere, so the common room was handy to store our bikes. Having a dishwasher, laundry machine, and full kitchen is convenient and money-saving. The owner and her assistant were very responsive to our needs. We had forgotten to request a parking permit, and I texted her when we were 10 minutes from arrival - when we arrived, she had already placed a permit in the mailbox for us. A great location, comfy accommodations, and courteous service from the owner- a great find!

Great Weekend

In D.C. for a weekend with my two sisters, we found the apartment clean, comfortable, with all the amenities we could need. We also liked the location, with close access to stores and the Metro, but the feel of a neighborhood. The large beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable and the rooms were well-lit.

For us this was not a problem, but I think future renters may want to know that the layout of the apartment was unusual. The master bedroom has a large desk that we had to maneuver around each time we entered the apartment (the master bedroom is the first room you walk into). Also the upstairs bedroom and den are joined by an open door so there is no privacy between the two rooms. The stairs to the second floor are very steep and narrow. There is no living room.

Overall, we had a wonderful weekend. I enjoyed walking two blocks to a coffee shop on 11th St in the mornings. We used the metro and the share bike program, and walked a lot. We enjoyed walking over to visit Howard University and also over to Connecticut Ave for dinner. It felt like we were close to everything. I would definitely consider renting this apartment again.

Owner's Response: I appreciate the feedback. Just so that my valued travelers know; we have re-configured the layout of the master bedroom and the desk is no longer in the way. I believe the revised layout will be much more comfortable and that the guest will appreciate the new layout.

First DC visit

This was our first DC visit and we are now addicted ! The property was fantastic for what we were doing which was sightseeing all day. The metro is is a 3-5 minute walk with plenty of places to eat & shop, it's a very clean & safe area. The apartment was perfect for my wife and two adult children (17 & 18) this unit has 2 full baths so waiting on someone to shower was never an issue, very nice size kitchen to cook if that was your desire :-) Beds were very comfy ! We would stay here again and highly recommend it. Make sure you follow the owners lead and request a temporary parking pass or you'll be SOL to find parking. Washington, DC is an awesome place !!!!!!

During a very high level event where rental home prices went through the roof, this home had a very good price and getting there was quite easy. The owner has the best customer service I have seen, in quite a while. I am a true believer that the customer service makes the stay better. Family members who joined me in my stay decided at the last minute to rent a car because it was more economical for them. Unknow to us that permits for parking is needed by residents in DC. When called the landlord jumped into action and within an hour we had the parking permit.

We were given welcoming gifts and discount cards to the grocery store around the corner. Her attention to detail was just remarkable and I would recommend this home to anyone because of it's location to the subway, dining and shoping but most of all because the owner has customer service as her first priority.
