My girl and I rented this amazing cottage from Sept 1st- September 10th. The owner was very accommodating of our early arrival and allowed us to be at the cottage earlier than check-in time due to an overnight flight from California, which left us fatigued! After a well needed nap the first thing we did was walked along the property and picked wildflowers from the yard and arranged them in a glass inside. Then we sat on the deck and listened to nature, peaceful and perfect rest from our normal city life. Our family was able to come visit almost everyday, and we were able to entertain them and cook dinner for them every evening. The cottage kitchen which before our visit lacked spices, however we have left them behind for future guests, was fully functional with a full sized fridge, a wonderful gas oven, and the charm but modernization of the perfect home away from home. The cottage is perfect in so many ways...location is awesome, washer and dryer made going home from vacation with clean laundry...a JOY! Kitchen is awesome, deck is perfect a mini vacation within the vacation,,,with sounds of nature...and cute fuzzy animals running and gathering for the upcoming winter. Information in the cottage very informative and helpful! If you have never been to this area it's beautiful...see Beacon NY, visit Litchfield and Kent CT, and just relax at the cottage and enjoy the Lake and nature (canoe provided in the garage) We chose not to use the TV or steareo or anything else that plugged in for these ten days so cannot say how they work...the coffee maker and toaster work wonderfully along with everything else in the kitchen! Frogs serenade the evenings on the deck...bring a citranella candle, a good book, and someone you love for some serious r&r!
We will be back again and renting this same place out! The only minuses beds a little HARD, would recommend the futon...more updated local materials would be nice, and a guest book would top off the perfect place to stay and get away from it all!
We loved our visit and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay with a wonderful owner who was very friendly to boot!
