Woodstock Estate Rental Photos and Description
Named after Van Morrison’s famous song, “Into the Mystic” aptly describes this magical Provencal-style country estate ideally located on a spacious and totally private 8-acre property at the base of Ohayo Mountain and only 2 miles from the center of Woodstock, the famous “colony of the arts” in the Catskill Mountain Park ~ just 2 hours north of NYC! This idyllic family compound is a vacationer’s paradise, featuring a classic Woodstock artist’s house, detached 2-car garage with a guest studio, large in-ground saline (chlorine-free) pool with a pool house, rustic tennis court, organic vegetable and herb garden, fruit tree orchard, natural spring-fed turtle pond, riverfront access ~ and an architect-designed and professionally-built tree house!
The historic Arts & Crafts country house features such charming and authentic architectural details as an arched front door, field stone wood-burning fireplace, dramatic two-story north light artist window, cathedral ceiling with skylights and fans, French and split Dutch doors that open onto a screened porch and stone patio/walkways that wrap around the house with outdoor seating under the old growth trees. At the same time, the house has been carefully and lovingly renovated to include luxury amenities, such as a radiant heated floor, oversize soaking tub and glassed-in shower in the master bathroom, new professional-quality appliances in the gourmet kitchen, cable TV with a DVD player, WIFI, etc.
Climb an open stairway to the master bedroom in a private wing of the house, with a king bed and en suite bathroom. A second bedroom on the first floor has a pair of twin beds: one elevated on a sturdy metal frame, and the other on wheels to store as a trundle when not needed. A third twin/day bed is available in the private office with a separate outdoor entrance.
Accommodate overflow guests in a separate studio apartment above the detached two-car garage. The studio features a vaulted ceiling, natural wood interior, well-equipped efficiency kitchen, full bathroom, queen bed, sitting area, and picture window overlooking the property with mountain views!
A garden gate leads to the pool area surrounded by flowering trees and shrubs. Relax on a cushioned couch in the shade of an oversize umbrella, or stretch out on recliners in the sun. Fold back the two sets of double French doors in the pool house to reveal a second sitting area under a vaulted ceiling with a fan, bar refrigerator and half bathroom. Walk out of the pool house onto the stone patio that wraps around the pool, and is the perfect setting for parties, meals and gatherings! Swim in the chlorine-free and crystal clear pool at any time of the day or night, under the sun, moon or stars!
Explore your endless 8-acre property and discover an orchard of quince, apple and cherry trees, an organic vegetable and herb garden, a tree house that appears to be a miniature cottage in the trees, a natural spring-fed turtle pond that attracts songbirds and other wildlife, and paths through the woods that lead to the banks of the Sawkill River, a year-round stream that flows through the valley and right past your property!
This French-inspired country estate is just 2 miles from the village of Woodstock, where you’ll find restaurants, galleries, boutiques, theaters, and clubs. Immerse yourself in the natural and cultural attractions of this area, which straddles the Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley ~ or just stay home and relax in your own private vacation paradise!

Guestbook comments from the manager
Our journey began in Australia, where we live. We never expected to find a home so perfect for a gathering of our extended American family! My communication with Judy prior to arriving in America was invaluable. On Judy's recommendation I ordered a 22 lb. turkey from Sunfrost weeks before leaving Sydney. The turkey was THE BEST I have ever had! We all felt completely at home and were amazed that everything we could have possibly needed was provided. We can't find fault with "Into the Mystic"!
