I was in Santa Monica for 3 weeks, on work and the Garden Hide-Away gave me a serene home away from home. Somewhere I could cook and live rather than camp.
Plenty of space and a great location within easy reach of shops and restaurants (in case tonight's not a cook night)

Escape (to paradise) from UK winter weather!

We have just spent over a month at Mary Ann's 'Garden Hideaway' as a base for exploring Santa Monica and the Los Angeles area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The apartment is small but well-designed to include all the facilities we needed; plenty of closet space, a well-equipped kitchen, a good bathroom and a bedroom with a large and very comfortable bed. The location is quiet and the second-floor windows overlook a well-stocked garden.


We didn't hire a car but found a very extensive bus network took us everywhere we wanted to go. Seniors could go anywhere on the 'Big Blue Bus' network for just 50 cents a ride whilst the red Metro buses only charged Seniors 25 cents a ride 'off-peak' and 55 cents a ride during rush hours. Bus rides took us to Malibu, Redondo Beach, Downtown L.A., the San Fernando Valley as well as Beverly Hills and Hollywood Blvd. We also recorded some 230 miles on our pedometer!


We enjoyed a great winter holiday and found the Mary Ann's Garden Hideaway a very agreeable place to stay at, for which we thank her.

Perfect location in Santa Monica! Quiet and beautiful garden

This is the perfect studio to stay at while in Santa Monica. Walking distance to Whole Foods and boutiques on Montana. Not far from beach. I love this location because it's quiet yet close to everything. I would stay here again. The only thing I would have liked better was the mattress. It was a little lumpy. Everything else wonderful!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

What a sleeper!

This lovely garden studio is even more that the description. My husband and I spent a week here visiting our grandchildren. It had it all. Beautifully maintained, tastefully furnished, and steps away from the best restaurants and boutiques.
And what can be nicer than coming back and relaxing in Mary Ann's tranquil garden?
We thank you and hope to return again soon.

A clean, comfortable studio apartment on a tree-lined, residential street in Santa Monica. Looks just like the photos. Parking on the street was never a problem. The studio has a well equipped kitchen, a very comfortable queen sized bed and a sunny garden. Very quiet but only a short walk to shops and restaurants. There is also use of onsite laundry facilities. Mary Ann (owner) is friendly and helpful. My husband and I loved it and will definitely stay here whenever we return to southern California.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Romantic Getaway
