MODERN, LUXURIOUS RENTAL HOME IN DOWNTOWN STRATFORD, ONTARIO.

Stratford House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

The Rundles Morris House, designed by the Canadian architectural firm Shim-Sutcliffe Architects, is available for rent. The house functions as a fully-serviced, deluxe two-bedroom suite. A spacious living room with a fireplace affords views of the Avon River and surrounding parkland. Throughout the property, one will find only the best in designer modernist furniture and lighting fixtures. Both the master and guest bedrooms feature queen-size beds with down comforters and pillows, top quality linens sourced from Ireland, bathroom amenities from Portugal, and so forth. Both bedrooms are private, and have bathrooms en suite. The house does not have an elevator, and therefore is not suitable for anyone who cannot climb stairs.

Seasonal, healthy breakfasts are served in-house, prepared by a private chef assigned to the property. Housekeeping is included, as well as mineral waters, Nespresso and teas, daily newspapers, wireless internet, and parking for two vehicles on site. The Rundles Lunch or Dinner Menu may be served in the house during restaurant hours. Picnic baskets are available for guests, with advance notice.

Review of Rundles Restaurant:

'On the bank of the River Avon, Rundles is an idyllic spot for pre-theatre dining in Stratford. The room, all grey cement and pale wood, feels like a Mies van der Rohe–designed spa. Chef Neil Baxter, who’s been head chef since 1981, has a flair for the dramatic, in a good way. The tender poached lobster with salmon roe, cubed cucumber, yuzu jelly and dill oil sparkles like a mosaic of multicoloured sea glass and tastes bright and clean. Flawless panfried rib-eye showcases classic training and finesse. At the end of the meal, the server suggests “the famous lemon tart.” The brûléed concoction, studded with toasted pistachios and sided with smooth orange sorbet, lives up to its recommendation.' Stratford, Ontario, is one of the most sophisticated small towns in Canada, with wonderful gastronomy, as well as theatre and culture options. Toronto is nearby to escape to, as well as Niagara-on-the-Lake, and even closer, the lovely cottage town of Bayfield, Ontario, perched upon the shores of Lake Huron. The Stratford Country Club golf course, the best golf course in the city, is located no more than five-minutes drive from the Rundles Morris House.

The Rundles Morris House comes with a private chef and housekeeper, and personalized concierge service. You can leave your car parked during your stay, and walk everywhere in Stratford. Sleep at night with little or no noise.

Fabulous stay

  • 5 of 5
Wonderful accommodation, fabulous restaurant and perfect location. If you can imagine having a spacious and well-appointed house (amazing kitchen, great entertainment area, 2 fantastic bedrooms) next door to a restaurant with a superb menu and excellent wine list all in a perfect setting of Stratford to enjoy theatre, local shops and a very enjoyable walk along the river. Plenty of little touches that make this a very special ‘getaway’. A real treat!

'This small Ontario city is home to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (North America’s largest classical repertory theatre). However, design lovers will want to visit for the Rundles Morris House. A contemporary residence, designed by Shim-Sutcliffe Architects, it’s a sublime combination of materials, in this case concrete, cedar and Douglas fir. The property is spread over four levels, with a central atrium drenching the house in natural light.' [Wallpaper* City Guide Toronto: 2012.]
