Our villa offers breathtaking views of the Sierra de la Giganta Mountains and the Sea of Cortez. We live in California. Along with our partners, we share a very special love for this home. We are sure you will feel the warmth that we love to share.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2006
Loreto is so safe for travel, and the people you meet here are incredible. They seem to gravitate to Loreto because of the unique beauty, and the sustainability.
Although this region of Mexico very rarely has any crimes against tourists, I know people want assurances. We have 24 hour security people who walk the neighborhood. They also stand at the entrance, and they keep a presence for all to see.
Being so close to the hotel means that within a minute or two, you can enjoy the pool and swim up bar, in addition to the cafe which serves a delicious and very reasonable menu. The beach palapas are ready and available to while the day away watching the wildlife and enjoying the peaceful feeling that is Loreto.
My wife and I have vacationed many places staying in hotels, homes, and condos. We have been impressed with some of those, but this casa by far tops our list for cleanliness, organization, layout, and price. There are others in the complex, not as impressive or clean, over priced, and the hosts are not as congenial.
We spent 6 nights and enjoyed each evening tremendously. The upper deck, where the 2nd bedroom is located, is immense with a great view, and the upper, 3rd deck, located above the bedroom, has an even better view. On our last day in early morning we spotted a herd of a dozen plus white mountain goats roaming the hills behind the condo. I have provided the owner with a picture in hopes she can post it along with her other photos – mind you, this picture is taken from ¾ to a mile away.
The town of Loreto is just 10 minutes north, so going into town for groceries and or dinner is very easy. We stayed the latter part of September and the weather was hot, the water was refreshing, and the beaches were deserted.
My wife and I will definitely come back and stay another week next year. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the casa – it is very beautiful and just a few minute walk to the water’s edge.
We assume you're reading because you've decided to stay in the Loreto Bay Development in Nopolo. Excellent choice. Couldn't ask for a prettier, quieter place.
This review is to help you choose where to stay within the development. When we come back, we're going to try to stay in this house again. Clean, comfortable, well-appointed. Good location near the beach and the development's restaurants. Parking is close. The landlords are nice and easy to work work with. The price is good.
There appear to be two parts of the development: Founders Neighborhood and Agua Vive. Based on comments from residents of Agua Vive, the Founders Neighborhood has an advantage: more privacy. Homes, regardless of size, have large second floor balconies (on which you will spend much of your time) and third floor towers (for views). Homes in the Founders Neighborhood are designed to avoid your looking in on your neighbors and vice versa; we're told the homes in Agua Vive are not.
When you enter the house, you come upon a small open desert garden with a fountain. Vines cover the walls above the garden, giving the space a peaceful green feeling.
Adjacent to the garden is a wall of doors that open (if you want) to link to the combined living/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen has nice modern appliances and plenty of cooking implements (good knives). The furniture is comfortable and sturdy. The combined area is not all that large, but we didn't spend much time there. You go to Loreto to be outside, not inside. Most of the time we spent in the living/dining area was to use the wifi, which works well there and not so well other places in the house. The ground level has a master sized bedroom and bath (which we spent little time in), washer/dryer, and another half bath. There is plenty of room for two couples.
The second floor--where we spent most of our time--has a master bedroom with doors that open onto a large outdoor patio. The patio has a covered eating area, a gas grill and small fridge. The view is of the surrounding houses and garden paths, a bit of island. Very pretty.
The A/C in the master bedroom worked well. There is a walk-in shower, bathtub with jets, and two sinks. Plenty of room. One of us found the bed to be perfect, one too soft, but that's often how we experience beds.
Not much is missing. You'll need to bring beach towels, but that's about it.
This was our second consecutive year staying in Nopolo, otherwise known as Loreto Bay. The golf course has improved, we met and made more new friends, and our accommodations couldn't have been better. The Casa was well maintained, very nicely and tastefully decorated, and well equipped with everything we needed to make wonderful meals. You can do as little as you want; relax with a book on the roof-top patio or laze on the beach on a less windy day, or you can be as active as you want; hiking some amazing canyons, golfing on the ever improving golf course, whale watching, kayaking, or driving to many of the beautiful white sand beaches of Bahia Concepcion. There is something very peaceful and relaxing about the Sea of Cortez and a quiet, yet friendly stay in Nopolo is worth the trip.
best vacation ever
the "casita" was very confortable and close to pool, the beach and the hotel.Perfect setting for a week end .the view and the sunset from the terrace are
beautiful. the house has everything you can think of. A great kitchen where you can cook the fish you just caught .
we will go back to the Casita
Larry and Chris thank you .
This vacation was all I could have hoped for and more. Loreto Bay is a well-planned, architecturally appealing and beautifully landscaped community. I did not realize that everything you really need can be had within a short stroll. The staff are all friendly, helpful and welcoming. And long-term residents are also friendly and willing to share some great tips about the area.
The villa is gorgeous. What makes you immediately comfortable and confident in what lies ahead is that it impeccably clean. It is furnished and appointed for visitors just as if the owners were living there themselves. The decor is tastefully regional so you feel as if you're in Mexico but not in someone's caricature of Mexico. The kitchen is so well stocked with good quality dish, glass, flat and cookware. The bedrooms and baths are spacious, with VERY comfy beds, and two sinks in each ensuite. There's also a convenient powder room. The second floor patio is terrific--plenty of seating, great BBQ, views and the nightly celestial show! There's a beautiful courtyard with a soothing fountain.
This villa is such a short walk to the beach, the hotel pool/restaurant, and the wine bar. There are chaises at the beach and the pool, as well as palapas and umbrellas. Oh, almost forgot the swim up bar! There are kayaks and paddle boards available to rent right on the beach.
Our week was so very relaxing. It was sunny and warm every day. The big decision of the day was pool or beach? Some days, both! Can't say enough about this villa and Loreto Bay--heavenly.
Our stay at this villa was perfect. It's close to the Inn and the beach. Everything was immaculate when we arrived. The kitchen is well-stocked with all the utensils and gadgets you might need. We went to the locals market on Sunday and picked up some shrimp, lobster tail, cheese and veggies. What we didn't get at the locals market we found at the supermarket in town. We grilled on the upstairs patio almost every night. It was overcast most of the time we were there but the last night was clear and we got a look at the night sky full of stars. We went fishing with Jorge and caught some tuna and bonito, which we grilled on the outside BBQ of course!
The bedrooms and bathrooms are large. The patio garden with the fountain and sitting area is neat. There's also a sculpture of a gecko in recessed nook that can be lit at night. I can picture all the exploring a group of kids would be doing in the casa. When they're done in the house the beach is only about 100 yards away.
A car is handy for running into town. Vista al Mar restaurant down the coast is a must do along with El Rey taco.
The owners were available for any questions we had before arriving and provided a great deal of useful and handy information pre-trip. We're looking forward to staying here again but we're looking forward to staying in our own Casa Chica soon also!
Visiting Loreto for the first time, we decided to rent a home vs staying in a hotel. What a wonderful decision that was. This home was amazing. It looked like a model home, but felt like being in our own. Larry and Chris gave us all the information we needed to be prepared for a great visit. From restaurant recommendations, to outing ideas. We always had options for things to do. Or not do.
The 2 master bedrooms were spacious and well appointed. As was the open, bright kitchen.
With the exception of the wifi company going out of business the week before we arrived and the refrigeration needing adjustment, all was relaxing and blissfully uneventful. The way a relaxing vacation should be.
Thank you Larry and Chris.
