This wonderful walk up apartment is located on the third floor of a Small Boutique Building. It is a fun alternative to a boring vanilla box hotel room. Well decorated and colorful this apt will be a memorable part of your trip to our Nation’s Capital.
The location cannot be beat. One block from the Convention Center and the Metro Train Yellow line make arriving from anywhere in the world as easy as getting off a plane at DCA or even JFK and catching a train into town. It is perfect for the budget shopper who will not compromise on location! You can walk to the White House and the Monuments!
It was recently renovated from stem to stern in the past three years and has central air conditioning. The bedrooms have a queen bed each. If you have extra travelers or those who do not want to share a bed there is also a queen air mattress provided. The chaise couches in the living area make super comfortable beds as well, but they are not convertible. This provides you with 5 sleeping spaces.
DC is a public transportation mecca. We also suggest using mass transit. For those arriving by car we can provide an on street parking permit at a cost of $50. This will allow you to park on street (public) within the vicinity of the apt for 2 weeks.
With a walkability index of 98% there is no need for a car. Zip car, car share is a mere one block away. DC is also fun to see via bike and its lanes dedicated to bike use. Renting a bike in the city is easy as well just Google Capitol Bikeshare.
If you prefer to travel and cook for yourself there is a great independent market half a block away. CVS is fully stocked and is 1 block away. Next door is a top notch Salvadoran restaurant that cannot be beat El Rinconcito Café.
If you like to walk and see the city, the walk to Union Station or the US Capitol takes about 20 minutes.
You can walk to the trendy Penn Quarter Area or Chinatown in fifteen minutes.
A unique city experience...

Hi I'm Cliff Palermo. My family and I love providing great places for travelers to call home, while away from home since 2011.
Cliff Palermo purchased this condo in 2010
You can not believe how Central this location is. Go Green! 98% on the Walkability Index. BIke rental nearby, No need for a car! 15 minute walk to the White House.
Must eat @ El Rinconcito Cafe right next door! First Cup coffee 2 block around the corner on M St. Convenience store, liquor store and grocery all within a block.
It worked out for my family. It was clean and had most of what we needed. The only problem we had was with the washer/dryer combination. We bought liquid detergent only to discover it takes powder so back to the store we went. It takes four hours to wash and dry one load and the clothes came out very wrinkled.
A very nice apartment at an optimal location. Very suitable for family travelling because of the excellent household equipment. Houses 6 persons conveniently. Very good and accurate preinformation, also we were nicely asked during the stay whether all´s well. We felt very wellcome.
We recommend this service without hesitation!
My family of six chose this condo for a sightseeing vacation. It was just as described in the ad, and we quickly felt at home. The unit is well-maintained and very clean. We brought our own food, intent upon cooking our meals, and were pleased to find the kitchen well-equipped with the cooking utensils, pots and pans, and serving dishes we needed to cook full meals. One point to note--this is a third floor unit, with a very narrow staircase. Our dry goods were packed in an oversized bin, which my husband had to carry on his back, sherpa-style up three flights of stairs. I recommend using smaller boxes for ease of getting things upstairs, unless you're looking for a major workout.
We knew that parking is typically tight in DC, but were not prepared for the search that ensued for a parking spot. We were able to use a 2 hour place to unload the car, then parked about eight blocks away. This could be difficult for families with small children, but our kids are older and were able to wait in the condo as we went on our parking safari.
We ran into one snafoo during our stay. Before venturing out one day, my husband threw a load of laundry into the washing machine. We expected it to be finished by the time we got home. When we arrived, about eight hours later, it was still on the wash cycle. I took a look at it and found the cycle dial to be broken--my husband had not used it because it appeared to be on the setting he needed. We contacted the owners, and they responded within minutes. Because of the timing of the breakdown, as well as it being the end of our stay, the machine was not repaired while we were there. However, the owners were sympathetic and kind, issued a bit of a refund for our troubles, and were able to direct us to a laundromat that was very close. We were very appreciative, and did make use of the laundromat.
As far as location goes, this place was wonderful! It is just on the edge of a residential area, but within walking distance to much! We walked to the mall and several museums, and took a cab to the Capitol but walked home. My youngest child is 7, and he did pretty well with the distance, although we stopped on the way home for a snack and drink most days.
If we were to visit DC again, we would definitely stay here again. It was spacious enough for my family of 6 (the two bathrooms were a godsend!) and comfortable enough to feel like home, in a safe area that is close to everything. LOVED it!
The apartment was larger than we expected, and has the potential to be an excellent rental. The kitchen and living room were clean and attractive, and the bedrooms large enough to accommodate an extra double blow-up mattress on the floor. However, we had several issues with the cleanliness of the place. It was obvious that the comforters and blankets were not washed between guests and some of the sheets, pillowcases and blankets were stained. The linens and towels were not white and, therefore, could not be bleached. The plastic shower curtain was coated in soap scum and was too long so it lapped onto the floor of the tub, which also was dirty. There are several simple maintenance problems like toilet paper holders that are falling off the walls, and the front door which has to be locked to stay closed. The place advertised a washer AND dryer but the dryer did not work and we wasted several hours of vacation time going to the local laundromat. Owners addressed the light bulb that was out in the shower quickly and were easy to get in touch with and very pleasant. In general, the place served our purposes but it could be easily improved with a little more attention to detail. There is a lot of "stuff" in this place (in closets and on shelves) that needs to go. It is a strange mixture of cute and modern and grandma's leftovers.
We arrived for an 8 day stay in DC with our two teenagers, and the accomodations were perfect for us. It was a quick walk to the nearest metro, with numerous restaurants and services in the area. The photos and description were quite accurate, and we liked having the extra key in the lockbox during our stay, had to use it a couple of times when we split up. The property was clean, well-maintained, with plenty of dishes and everything we needed to cook when dining in. I had one small issue upon arriving which settled quickly by the property manager. I would highly recommend this for anyone staying in the metro DC area.
I visit DC each year for a conference at the convention center and bring my pet. This location was very convenient for all my needs. Overall I was very satisfied with the unit. The only complaint I have is I reported that we could not get the washer / dryer unit to work and no one ever came out to check it while we were there, so we were forced to use the public laundry next door.
