Restaurants, a great grocery store with an excellent meat market, plus many other stops to satisfy any island visitor. Bringing your car across? Reserve your spot on the ferry for your vehicle (Beaver Island Boat Company 888-446-4095) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as space is limited during the peak season. Don't forget to fill up before you leave, because gas is expensive on the island. Cell phone service is sporadic at best but WiFi is available.
The guest cottage is located approximately 10 miles from the island hub 'Paradise Bay'. You will need a vehicle on the island.
Vehicle rentals can be obtained from (highly recommended) Gordy Heikka 231-448-2438 or Beaver Island Marina 231-448-2300.

We purchase our property in 1996 and built our retirement home in 2000. The beauty of the island brought us here as we desired quiet and water. Our tranquil life could not be better. We often take our grandchildren to various beach sites on the island including the one in this picture, Cable Bay.
We hope you will enjoy the peace and quite as much as we do.
Cathy or Jerry purchased this cottage in 1996
It was wonderful to have the use of your sweet cottage. I'm going home far more relaxed than when I arrived.
Absolutely wonderful stay. We drank coffee (and mimosas!) on the deck looking out over Lake Michigan in the morning, canoed in the afternoon, built a campfire and cooked dinner near the beach in the evening. So much peace to be had here. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the gorgeous property, or our host, Jerry (Cathy was away when we visited, but she was very prompt with replies and, warm and friendly when conversing with me through e-mail). Jerry even let us use their house phone to make dinner reservations when we couldn't get cellular service.
There are neighbors, but also a lot of privacy thanks to the trees and layout of the land, location of the deck and of the cottage. Plenty of nearby hiking, and if you need a store or restaurant, the hub of the island is about a 20 minute drive.
The cottage is very cozy; if you are not coming alone, I would make sure you really like the person you are coming with! Fortunately I visited with my husband so it worked out ;)
We both very highly recommend staying here, and will almost certainly be back. Hopefully sooner than later!
This little cottage made our first visit to beaver island so easy. We appreciate d the warm welcome and helpful information Cathy gave us. The kitchen was well equipped, the living area comfortable, the shower excellent, and the beds comfortable. The sunset from the observation deck and beach was fantastic. Enjoy the night sky. So many stars.
Great little place for the two of us. Loved the fact that we had bicycles and beach chairs to use. While we never cooked, it looked like all you would need was there. Very quiet area, with lots of wildlife around. Would definitely rent again.
This is a hidden (literally) gem. The accommodations were quiet, cozy, and away from it all. The Jones' were excellent hosts and were available to answer questions and allowed us to share their beautiful property. Great sunsets! Thanks!
