Asheville House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Welcome to our cottage in the Historic district of Asheville known as Montford. Enjoy the comfort of your own place for your vacation while exploring the many adventures that the area offers.

From this home you can easily walk to the vibrant and exciting downtown Asheville to people watch or attend live theater, visit art galleries, shop in the many eclectic stores, or dine at one of the over 65 restaurants! Known as the 'Paris of the South', Asheville is filled with many musical venues from bluegrass to pop to suit everyone's taste. Many people enjoy walking or cycling in the area surrounding this home.

This home has everything you need and then some for an enjoyable visit. Charming home with some antique furniture and high quality linens and other details. Exceptionally well-maintained by local folks with the comfort of the guest in mind. Entering the home from the back door brings you into the well equipped and maintained kitchen with more than enough supplies if you choose to cook. Through the kitchen is the dining and living room area which is cheery with natural light and well appointed, tasteful and comfortable furniture. The master and second bedrooms are off the living room with the bathroom separating the two. Watch the birds in the feeders while at the desk/computer or relaxing in front of the fireplace.

After an adventure-packed day of one of the many activities such as hiking, biking, rafting, birding, or backpacking, you can relax beside the fire, curl up with a book or dine with family or friends. This home is well appointed and tenderly cared for so you will be comfortable as you explore our wonderful mountain area in Western North Carolina.

Also unique to our properties is the 'Gourmet 2 U' service. Imagine having a few prepared meals waiting for you when you arrive to use as you wish during your stay. Have some home cooked meals in the fridge! Or enjoy our own French Chef Jocelyn who will prepare your meal(s) for you!

All this allows more time for you to explore and appreciate the Asheville area. Some guests prefer to hire a cleaning service during their stay, and we can highly recommend a 'green' cleaning company.

For folks who bring their dog but may be spending the day hiking or house hunting or any of the other adventures our area has to offer we have in-home pet care, 'while you are away your pet can play!'

NEW for our renters in 2014 are dining certificates for downtown restaurants, significant discounts for services such as concierge, professional massage therapy, full service salon, personal training, and discounts at several retail stores.

Returning renters ask about reduced rates!

FABULOUS. Can't wait to return!

FABULOUS. Can't wait to return!

This 100+ year old cottage in the Montford historic district of Asheville has everything you could possibly need. In spite of its age, it has all modern conveniences, is spotlessly clean, has incredibly comfortable beds, soft linens & towels, cable TV, wifi, and literally all the comforts of home. The location cannot be beat! It is within walking distance of downtown Asheville, three grocery stores (including Whole Foods and Trader Joes), farmers markets, restaurants, coffee shops, parks and walking trails. Each morning we enjoyed walking our dog through the historic community surrounded by beautifully restored bungalow homes, hundred year old trees, cobblestone sidewalks, colorful landscaping, and pleasant breezes. We came to relax, and that's exactly what we did. Our favorite activity was just sitting on the porch reading books while enjoying the cool breeze as it shifted and wrapped around us.

Rebecca is a welcoming hostess who has wonderful sense of homey decor, and it's clear she knows what travelers need when living away from home. She greeted us upon arrival and made sure everything was up to snuff. If we needed anything, it was quickly provided since she lives only a few blocks away. As a long time resident of Asheville, she was very helpful with pointing out restaurants and activities so that we quickly became accustomed to being Asheville "residents" which we are certainly considering for the long term. We enjoyed our month on Chestnut street so well that we already made arrangements to return next year.

If you want to experience Asheville as only residents can...spend some time in this beautiful old house.

Charming Cottage in a Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5
We just returned from two months at Chestnut Cottage and it was sheer perfection. The cottage was clean and cozy and the best bed in a rental we have ever had. The location could not have been better. We loved the walkability while being in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. No more than a 10-15 minute easy walk and you are just about anywhere in town as well as several market options (Trader Joes/GreenLife/Harris Teeters). We rarely used our car except on those beautiful NC winter days when it would reach 50-55 and we took off hiking. The cottage is a few blocks from the freeway so easy access to get out and explore (15-45 minutes and you are at several spectacular hikes/parks). Thankful we could walk everywhere as we ate our way through Asheville from Chestnut Cottage! Thanks Rebecca for being such a great host we loved our stay.

A delightful home!

  • 5 of 5
From the fresh cut flowers that welcomed us on our arrival, to the luxuriously comfortable king-sized bed, this cheery, light-filled and homey bungalow is perfect for an enjoyable mountain vacation. The thoughtfully furnished, neat and bright cottage offered everything we needed for a comfortable stay – including a fully stocked cook’s kitchen, impeccably clean linens, local maps and guidebooks. Perfectly located near downtown Asheville, yet an easy drive to national forests and biking trails, we enjoyed the rocking chair side-porch in the afternoon to catch the mountain breezes and people watch in the hip Montford neighborhood. You can watch the song-birds from the many feeders in the quaint garden. Stroll into town to enjoy the galleries, stores, museums, restaurants and attractions of downtown Asheville. Or walk the nearby neighborhood to glimpse Victorian, Craftsman, and Queen Ann-styled homes in the National Register Historic District – offering the richest varieties of architectural styles in North Carolina. The possibilities are endless from this delightful home. Thank you, Rebecca!

Car: not necessary

This is one of the most ideal locations to walk to, and explore, downtown Asheville or easily access the interstate to adventure out to one of the national forests in the surrounding area. As you'll read in the reviews, guests not only love the house, the location can not be better.
