ABOUT THE LAKE:
Richland Chambers, being Texas 3rd largest inland lake and the youngest in Texas (1989). Richland Chambers has an average water depth of 25 feet and a maximum depth of 82 feet and 330 miles of shoreline. It offers wide open recreational areas and protected coves for recreational boaters, skiers and family fun! Sailing enthusiasts enjoy the large East to West expanse on the Richland arm and Richland Chambers is reported to be the largest (inland) sailing basin in Texas.
Fishermen have long enjoyed the excellent fishing and habitat at this Texas lake as evidenced by the annual bass fishing tournaments held here each year. Regular stocking by Texas Parks and Wildlife has contributed to some of the finest fishing in the state with strong populations of crappie, sand bass, hybrid bass, blue cat and yellow catfish.
Being located near the Trinity River (a natural flyway for water fowl) offers a diverse population of ducks, geese and teal for hunters while pelicans and other birds including the majestic Bald Eagle are abundant to the delight of birdwatchers and waterfront lake house owners throughout the lake area!
During low water times, boats can still be brought to the house. We have a nice sandy beach and buoys that boats can be tied to. Current water levels can be found here: http://richlandchambers.uslakes.info/Level.asp

Karen, Charles, Chuck and Suzie own this wonderful home. We are a family who loves to Travel. We've been all over the world and have been lucky enough to set down roots in a couple of our favorite locations that we can share with family, friends, and guests.
We live in the Dallas area.
Karen McGrath purchased this house in 2009
Richland Chambers lake is one of the best secrets in Texas. It's the 3rd largest, newest and most unpopulated lake in Texas. This lake has so little traffic that it makes a perfect retreat for boating, skiing, or fishing.
Beautiful location on the lake. Perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, and just enjoying the beautiful view.
Our family of 6 plus two teens spent 3 great days at this wonderful house. Room for all plus some to stretch out and the house is well equipped for fun. We celebrated a 5th birthday fishing, tubing, skiing, and enjoying the beach. The house is on a large calm cove which was awesome for all water sports and great photo ops of the action from the boathouse. No issues using the buoy to anchor right offshore for our stay. The water is low, bad for the boathouse but created a nice sandy beach for the smaller kids to play on. Fishing is really good from the beach and close by on the lake: catfish, sand bass, and bluegill. There is a great yard and we enjoyed the back patio and hot tub each night before settling inside for movies. The kitchen is very well done and we enjoyed cooking together in it for our crew. The furnishings are comfortable and the house is well decorated. I enjoyed seeing "Love Deeply" each morning before getting our day started! The neighbors were nice and helpful with local knowledge. Karen and family have created a very nice place to stay, Thank You.
WOW! There are no other words for this property and the incredible time we had. Our group uses VRBO each year for our annual friends get away and this has been our favorite by far. The pictures and description are exact, so you really know what to expect. We loved the den and when we weren't in the water, we were all in the den enjoying the spectacular view. Just as we commented on how great that room would be during a rain storm, Mother Nature gave us a quick demonstration and it was beautiful. There was more than enough space for our three adult couples to be comfortable without feeling crowded. We used the kitchen for all our meals and found it so user friendly. The waffle maker was like a bonus! The home is gorgeous and the area is nicely secluded. The neighbors were friendly and made us feel welcome. We were specifically looking for a private experience without a lot of people (like an overcrowded beach) and we got exactly that. At some times we were the only ones out there and it was heaven. None of us wanted to leave after our four days there, because we just barely had a taste of the "good life". Who knew this best kept secret was just down the road.
There were seven of us staying at the lake house. We were very comfortable and pleased with the interior decorating. The photos accurately reflected the home. The landscaping was beautifully done. There were a few items that needed attending to: burned out light bulbs, a few plumbing/ shower issues (taken care of promptly), hot tub very slow to heat up, poor water flow from kitchen sink, air conditioner overflow dripped onto front porch right in front of door, and a couple of wasp nests. Other than those fixable items, we will definitely be back. The water level in the lake was obviously low, but it did not deter us from any fun. We treated it like a beach. It is important to find out the water levels before going. We will be sure to rent jet skis from A Splash of Fun in Red Oak, TX. Make sure to bring your own jet skis because the marinas only offer fishing or pontoon boats. We had a wonderful time letting loose on the lake with them and just being together as a family with movies, swimming, and games. Once again, we will be returning and I will definitely tell others to visit.
We stayed at this beautiful home for a few days over spring break. It was so peaceful and beautiful. A very quiet neighborhood. The home is everything described and more. We had a 7 month old baby with us and the spaciousness was much appreciated. We had chilly weather, so the hot tub was awesome...every day with a glass of wine, looking out on the water. The two living areas was perfect for families needing space. We played wii, cooked, took walks. The home is beautifully furnished....kitchen even had a wafflemaker which delighted the guys! Overall a fabulous experience. Karen, the owner was most helpful. Wild love to go back when the water is warm....it is a beautiful lake.
We stayed at this property last weekend and it was perfect! This house is wonderful and met all of our needs. They have thought of every detail for their guest. It was truly nice to just relax and enjoy the view. All of our kids had a great time both at the house and on the lake. It is a large lake and we hardly saw any boats the entire weekend.
My family spent Memorial Day Weekend at this wonderful retreat! The owner sent a ton of information on the house and the area ahead of time, which was great! The house is simply gorgeous - everything top of the line! There is plenty of room to stretch out and relax. We brought a boat and had a great time! We did lots of cooking in the fabulous kitchen, played lots of games with the kiddos (a huge assortment of games at the house),did lots of fishing from the dock, and just had an overall great time! We couldn't have asked for anything better! Also, we got our deposit back 3 days after leaving! I would highly recommend this fantastic property!
