We stayed at Surf Casitas for a week while in Santa Teresa. I couldn't have picked a better place for my first stay in Santa Teresa. We are already planning on coming back in a few months.
The cabins are perfect for your time here. The rooms are clean with a maid coming in to clean frequently. All the rooms have a/c and believe me, after a few hours in that hot sun, the a/c was all we could ask for. You have your own kitchen, bathroom, and a huge deck with a hammock. The key to our stay was the outdoor shower and the mangos falling fresh from the trees.
A short walk to the beach, I was able to get up in the morning and check the surf every day. A great surf break sits right in front of the Surf Casitas. I was blown away by the surf conditions all week while I was there.
We rented bikes to be able to go into town, but everything you need is within walking distance. There is a "soda" restaurant that is right down the street that is amazing. They offer their "cansado" the typical dish usually consisting of meat, get the fish, and rice, salad, and in this case french fries. It was only $5. There is also a market within 2 minutes walking of the Surf Casitas where you can get all the food you need to cook in the kitchen, as well as the local beers and liquor.
Ugo is the owner of the Surf Casitas and he is very hospitable. He made us feel like his little piece of paradise was ours for the week. He will help you with anything questions you may have, where to rent bikes, surfboards, where to eat, etc.
We were very happy with our stay at the Surf Casitas and can't wait to come back. The country is beautiful and is worth traveling to many times over.
