Buffalo Creek at Lexington is an easy and scenic 15 minute drive from downtown Lexington in the Shenandoah Valley. It is 1 hour from Charlottsville, 2 hours from Richmond, 3 hours from Washington, DC and a mere 20 miles from Stauton, VA, home of the Blackfriars Playhouse. Lexington is also home to the Virginia Horse Center, Washington & Lee University, Virginia Military Institute, museums, entertainment, wineries, historic properties and shops.

If you fly fish, are a history buff, an outdoor enthusiast, enjoy a family get together, like to get away with some great friends or like to sip wine, Buffalo Creek at Lexington is for you. It is a classic Shenandoah Valley farmhouse built in the early 1900's surrounded by almost 4 acres of woods. You can sit on the front porch and listen to the sounds of North Buffalo Creek. The house is a short distance from the Trophy Trout Special Regulation section of N. Buffalo Creek.

We rented this property for two weeks and enjoyed every minute. We were here for two weeks of horse shows at the Horse Center. The drive there was very scenic. For anyone interested in flyfishing, this was a great time to be in the area.
The house was a treat and the owner could not have been more accommodating. We will certainly do this again.

Buffalo Creek What a country treat!

I recomend Buffalo Creek to all. This is a wonderful country escape 20 minutes and 11 miles from the lexington horse center. This is a peaceful quite retreat in the country. The listing photos and description are on the mark, and the owner could not be more helpful.

What a great weekend!

I have a friend in the Lexington area who told me I should come down to ride (motorcycles) with him for a weekend. He has a small place and his wife is allergic to (so she says) dogs and I always like to take my dog with me when I go away. My girlfriend was also interested in going so we needed our own place.
I'm so glad she did some legwork and found Buffalo Creek for us. The place was just soooo relaxing, warm and cheerful. Sue just LOVED sitting on the porch with her coffee in the morning watching and listening to the creek. Boomer (my dog) loved the creek a little too much! LOL The fenced yard is huge and it was great to be able to just open the door and let him out to potty.
The whole area down there was awesome for motorcycle riding to say the least. We really enjoyed the house and the area and are already planning to go back to Buffalo Creek with a few friends. The house is can easily sleep another two couples and will be super affordable when we split it three ways! I'm sure Booomer's hoping he won't be the only dog.
