Beautiful beach house newly remodeled. 32 ft ceiling with large light-inviting windows. Three bedrooms, each decorated in a different theme. One bedroom is decorated in a surfing motif with tiki lights strung overhead, one bedroom is a cottage with white bead-board furniture and the master is a twilight periwinkle blue with all white bedding, perfect for relaxing. The living room features all the comforts of home. Dining table expands to seat extra guests. Outdoor brick patio includes built in fire pit for those evenings roasting hot dogs, making s'mores, and watching the stars above. The two person hammock is ideal for snuggling with your loved one or curling up with a good book.
The beach awaits you after a quick one block stroll. You will then be able to enjoy an uninterrupted 3-mile walk all the way to Oceanside. Oceanside features surfing, cliffs and cave exploration and of course, the world famous (thanks to Adam Richmond of Man VS Food) Roseann's Cafe. You can end your evening sitting on the outdoor deck of Schooner's Restaurant, listening to live music. And just in case you have a spirit too many, Schooners is a one block walk to our home!
The tiny town of Netarts is located near the mouth of Netarts Bay. The bay is inhabited by clams, fish, seals, crabs, colorful starfish and birds of astounding variety. Netarts is located about 75 miles west of Portland (6 miles west of Tillamook and the Tillamook Cheese Factory) and is right on the famous "Three Capes Scenic Loop". By car, Netarts is less than an hour and a half from Portland or Salem. Also, just minutes from Sand Lake.

After my career of 17 years in law enforcement, I've started a new venture into becoming a real estate agent. My family, includes 2 boys &, 2 dogs also enjoy our beach house.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
In early 2000 my parents passed away and I inherited my family built home from 1976. My husband and I fully remodeled this well loved home and enjoy blessing others with it. We actually refer to my beach house as the "house of blessing".
The one block walk to the beach is wonderful. Plus the 3 mile walk along the beach right into the cute little town of Oceanside is one our favorite things to do. Exploring the tide pools, finding sea creatures and looking for shells is a great adventure we love too!
We love to eat ice cream at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Listening to live music at Schooner's Restaurant, only a block away, is perfect for late night adult fun.
Thank you! We had a wonderful time and Jodi, you were so great to work with. Love all the vintage mementos :-)
My husband, chocolate lab, and I rented the SOS beach house last weekend. It was the perfect getaway for a little R&R at the beach. The house had all of the amenities to make it a very comfortable stay. We ate seafood galore at both Schooner's restaurant/pub in Netarts and Roseann's cafe in Oceanside. We also treated ourselves to ice cream & cheese at the Tillamook cheese factory (only a 5 minute drive from the house) as well as wine tasting at the Blue Heron cheese factory, also located in Tillamook. We loved walking on the beach looking for sand dollars & shells while sipping coffee from the local coffee house in Oceanside. I can't wait until we can steal away for another weekend in Netarts!
We stayed here last July 4th weekend with 5 teenage boys. It was perfect. And the fireworks put on by the locals on Netarts Bay was priceless. Hope to rent this great house again this summer.
Our time at this lovely beach house was great! My husband, two adult daughters and two small grandchildren were so comfortable and felt at home, we only wish we could have stayed longer. The listed description was exactly accurate and the photos are what it looks like, beautiful. Very clean and well maintained. We ate at Rosannes in Oceanside and it was wonderful! Bring your walking shoes as the beach is a little walk, but well worth it.
I don't think this is a great house/location for very young children or for multi family getaways. The home is perfect size for one large family or a group of singles. While it could technically sleep up to 8 there is only seating at the table and in the living room for 4 at a time.
Location, again, great for adults or older children, not great for strollers. A little scary taking a stroller to the bay then once you get there too rocky to go anywhere near the water. Was also extremely busy (tons of cars and off leash dogs). This house is two blocks from the Bay, not the Ocean. During our stay the road to Oceanside was closed so we never could really see that ocean beach.
The house itself is very cute allbeit a bit smaller than the pictures make it seem. Kitchen has everything you could want. Enough utensils and plates to not do dishes for a week! The home also has small items such as soaps, paper towells, etc. which made the stay even better. No cable, just lots of Disney movies. Very small BBQ. Lots of knick knacks around the house (very cool for atmosphere, not so much for small children :)) Extra toys and odd items found in each closet. Great lighting and air flow throughout home. Kicthen was not part of the remodel.
I've never left a negative review, but I felt like sharing my opinion of this home, in case it's helpful to some.
We actually ended up leaving the home two days early. The first disappointment was the location. We chose this house because of it's clear description of being a 'quick one block walk to the beach'. We actually passed on another beach house and chose this one, because the other house had a vague description of a 4-5 minute walk. The price of both were the same. When we arrived to this house we were surprised to see where it actually was. It's on the east side of Old Netarts HWY. To walk to the beach, you take the gravel road (at least a block +) and cross the busy hi-way. Walk about a block at that point, then you're at Schooners. Follow the gravel road in front of Schooners, for another block or so and then climb down (over rocks) to the beach. Be warned, there isn't much of a beach here, especially during high tide. This was not ideal for the small children we were carting around. We wanted a home that would literally be a quick one block walk, so our toddler, baby and younger kids, that were in our group could all walk together. We ended up having to get in the car to drive either to the Happy Camp beach, or into Oceanside, for their beach.
We found the house to be uncomfortable as well. It wasn't a place that we felt we could just lounge around in. To be fair, the pictures posted are pretty accurate, of the inside of the house. But once there, it just wasn't comfortable... the bed we slept on (we slept in the upstairs room with white bed frame -- seemed more like a full than a queen), the living area wasn't comfy either. So basically, we were in our car for day trips or driving to the beach, which was not what we had in mind.
Luckily, we found a last minute house to rent, that better fit out needs. It's just too bad that we ended up having to spend more than we planned on our vacation. We forfeited the two nights here, that we had pre-paid, but did end up in a house that we could enjoy a nice safe walk to the beach, and let our cars take a break. So it ended up being money well spent. We did try and get a refund due to the misrepresentation of the home's location to the beach, but had no luck, which is also too bad. I suppose that's the risk of VRBO --- you're bound to run into some disappointments. Looks like some people are happy with the house, based on a couple of reviews, but I wanted to share
I stayed here last weekend with 4 of my gals for our girls weekend getaway. This was the perfect location and a very comfortable house. The kitchen is great and fully stocked as described - as the foodie and cook for our weekend I was delightfully surprised at the array of tools, etc at hand. A lot of love and detail has gone into the decor giving it a friendly, cozy personality and not a boring, sterile/neutral palette that some places can have. We got to experience a seaside storm which included the electricity going out for a few hours and we were especially appreciative of clear instructions in the house booklet and the abundant supply of candles on hand.
I've already recommended this house to friends and can easily imagine wanting to book it again for the next Oregon coast excursion.
