STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

I wish there was a review of this listing before we booked our stay. It would have saved us a lot of stress and distruptance during what was supposed to be a relaxing holiday week. This listing is absolutely NOT accurate. The rooftop is disgusting and the Jacuzzi DOES NOT WORK. The owner told us that this happens all the time, and that it was OUR responsibility to check the jacuzzi when we checked in. How does that make any sense?! We booked this place in good faith, and assumed that he presented the condo accurately and honestly.
In addition to the disgusting rooftop and malfunctioning jacuzzi, the safe does not work, and for us this was also very important. We contacted the management company and they told us they would come by with the safe key but never did. So again, I contacted them for the key to the safe and they failed to leave it as they promised. So the entire stay we had to worry about whether or not our valuables were safe in the condo. When I contacted the owner he didn't even respond. Truly disgusting.
One of the main reasons we booked this condo is because of the rooftop and even more specifically the jacuzzi & BBQ. We even asked the owner in an email if there was definitely a BBQ and he told us yes (I have plenty of email correspondence verifying everything if interested I will forward). We arrive to the condo, check out the place and realize there is no BBQ...what a surprise! I contact the owner and he actually responded and said they would try to get one. Three days into our trip they brought a tiny charcoal grill - which was very nice and we were very appreciative however it was irritating that we didn't get it until almost halfway into our trip and that it wasn't there when we arrived as previously promised.
All in all you should STAY AWAY from this place. The owner didn't respond to any of our emails until we were out of the condo. He was extremely rude and condescending in his response and again I have all the emails to back up my claims. There are plenty of condos available in playa del carmen through homeaway, just make sure you check the reviews and DO NOT make the same mistake we did! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Owner's Response: The pictures of the rooftop speak for themselves. The safe is electronic and does not have a key. The BBQ was replaced as soon as we were made aware the previous one was missing. It was replaced with the same model that had been there before. Apparently the bottom had rusted out of the old one. I do apologize for the Jacuzzi but the maintenance company assured me it was working two days before this guest arrived. It has since been repaired by replacing the pump. This occurred over Christmas and athough I understand that not everyone is Christian the local people are devout Catholics and observe the holiday as a Holy time. I cannot blame them for not fixing the Jacuzzi as immediately as the guest expected. "When I contacted the owner he didn't even respond. Truly disgusting." It was Christmas and I too was visiting friends and relatives. I replied upon my return when I became aware that this guest was requesting to stay additional days at no charge in compensation. This was not possible as new guests were arriving. We seldom rent our unit to stangers and this experience has made me even more wary. The maintenance company is Bliss Vacation Rentals. I have great faith in Karen and Iliana and believe they did everything humanly possible to make the stay of this guest as pleasant as possible. I love my condo, the local people, the beatiful beaches, and the fantastic food. Although I can't expect everyone to appreciate what I beleive is one of the most beatiful places on this continent, I certainly don't see that this review is justified.
