SKI MID WEEK! KILLINGTON VT HOME SLEEPS10, 5 BDRMS,3 BATHS,HOT TUB, SAUN

Killington House Rental Photos and Description

Ski-On, Ski-Off! Large, Comfortable, Well-Equipped 3-Level Ski Home

Reg.Weekday Rates (Non-Holiday) = $750 a night. Reg. Weekend Rates = $950 a night.

We welcome you to Royal East, our family's home, away-from-home. We had skied for many years at Killington, and loved the location and the quiet surroundings of the house. We especially loved the efficient use of space on each of the three levels. We liked being able to ski home for lunch, weather permitting.

A boot room is directly inside the front door, so getting ready to go skiing is pretty easy, with built-in benches, with a heater underneath. Coming back from a day in the snow means that you will immediately get warm! Remove ski boots and gear, grab a towel and head for the HOT TUB on the deck. Wow! What a way to Relax! After you are really relaxed, dry off and head for the living room, which is a spacious area with a vaulted ceiling, a cozy fireplace, and plenty of seating. The L-shaped couch and card table with 4 chairs makes it easy to play games, watch TV or relax. A peek around the corner and the dining room and kitchen are within view. WI-FI makes it easy for guests to work on lap tops, IPads and stay connected with important information. he mountains.

Adjacent to the living room is the remodeled kitchen that has two prep sinks, new appliances, and the dining room. From the living room, you can see many of the surrounding mountains, but the sight of the Killington SkyeShip from the dining room table is exciting. Perhaps you and your guests will get ready early enough so everyone can brag about catching the first rides of the day on the SkyeShip to the top of the mountain. In the back of the first floor you will find two Queen bedrooms, and a full bath between them. The washer and dryer is next to the bathroom, and you'll be able to stay up to date with laundry.

The upper level has the Master Bedroom, with steps that lead to a landing, has an opening above them, where kids often perform puppet skits. Beyond the door is a large bedroom, with a King bed, and a full bathroom with a sky light and heat lamp.

The part of the house with the biggest surprise for most guests is the finished lower level. At the base of the steps is a bathroom, equipped with a shower and a completely-private, heated Sauna, separated by a glass door. The large rec room has a bar and stools, but most folks are attracted to the ping pong table that is beyond the partial wall. Two more bedrooms on the lower level, one with a King bed and a full-size futon, and one with a Queen bed, are separated from the rec room. The sitting area in the rec room has a couch, additional chairs and a table for guests to read, chat, catch up on emails or watch TV. A door to the outside provides an quick exit, if necessary.

We trust that you and your guests will enjoy your 'Royal East Home' in Killington. We know that guests who have vacationed here have told us that our home was spacious enough for all of their guests, very quiet in the evenings, and located in an ideal place for skiing and relaxing.

We look forward to having you stay at our home.

Contact us and make your vacation at Royal East, a reality.

Great House and a Great Ski Vacation!!

  • 5 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. We had a larger group of friends and family so we needed a bit more room than usual. This house had more than enough room for sleeping and for relaxing. The kitchen and dining area connect so everyone could be together while cooking and eating. We also loved spending time next to the fireplace and enjoying some time in the living room. The sauna and hot tub made relaxing after a long day on the slopes much easier. We were able to take the short walk and then ski through the woods right to the main trail, which was very convenient. Skiing in for lunch was also a big plus. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, she was very understanding and helpful with any questions that we had. Overall this is a great house and we would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a great stay at Killington.

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5
The house was perfect for our group. The teens loved the lower level rec room and ping pong table. The 3 levels offered everyone privacy. We loved hanging on the comfy couch in front of the fire after a day on the slopes. Because of all the snow we were able to ski on which was so convenient. Loved Killington and we hope to return next winter. Thank you Susan!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5
This place was perfect. Th layout made it easy for a large group to still feel a sense of privacy. The fireplace burned all weekend, we relaxed in the clean hot tub, had easy access to trails for snowboarding/skiing and the kitchen was a great size for cooking for 12 people. Everything in the house was clean and it was well prepared. The basement was an extra perk, providing us space to play pong and lounge. I will definitely be returning next year! So glad we picked this house!

Our Killington home is at 214 Trailview Dr., corner of Beechnut Dr. From RT 4, at the Killington SkyeShip, take E. Mountain Rd to the 3rd left turn: Our home is the first house on the right on Trailview Drive.

Weather permitting: early morning skiers regularly board the SkyeShip, and are visible from our dining room. When ready, you can ski from our driveway, cross over to Mini Drive, and in a short distance you will be on Home Stretch Trail. Take it to Great Eastern, then shuss to the Skye Ship (during Winter Season). When done skiing, exit from the 2nd tunnel and ski home. Your friends can relax by the fire in the living room. Perhaps you'll be challenged to play ping pong in the large rec room downstairs, and then unwind in the outdoor hot tub or indoor sauna. We know how important food is on a ski trip, so prepare food in the kitchen or on the outdoor grill. Make dinner at home in our remodeled kitchen/dining room area that can easily fit 10+. If in doubt, eat OUT! (There's a Menu Book near the phone). Be sure to visit Woodstock and Queeche, if you'd like to see places within 30-45 min away.

Please: No Smoking or Pets

Thanks for your interest in Royal East.

Other Activities: snowboarding, sightseeing

Most of our guests stay at our home so that they can ski or snowboard on Killington, the Northeast's Premier Mountain. Our home is well-equipped with most of the amenities that make a vacation with your family or friends and enjoyable one. Whether you plan a short getaway or a week-long vacation, be sure to take time to see the local area, as well. If you need to pick up a gift, visit the Greenbrier Gift Shop, on Rt 4, near the Killington Road. The beautiful wrapping is complimentary, so have them do the 'fussing'. About 30 minutes from our home is one of the 'quintessential New England villages. Woodstock, VT is a village with unique shops, including Gillingham & Sons, a General Store with unique household items and kitchen gadgets. If eating fits your needs, make reservations for a great lunch at the historic Woodstock Inn, stately positioned as you approach the village. Visit the gift store or the Pub for a quick diversion. One of our family's favorite eateries is Bentley's Restaurant, each room's ceiling has cascading glass ornaments. A drive through the village can be simple: be sure to drive through the village's covered bridge. About 15 minutes from there is Queeche, a town with an unbelievable gorge. For a spectacular meal with a view, make reservations at the Simon Pearce Restaurant, but do so after a few minutes of touring the glass blowing workshop in the basement. If you need to get a set of spectacular wine glasses or a hand-designed glass bowl for a wedding gift, your present will be unique. On the way back to Royal East, the group will want to grab a glass of the local brew or lunch at the Long Trail Brewery in Bridgewater, about 15 minutes from 'home'. Popcorn will be everywhere.

At every store or gas station in the area, you will be able to find a copy of theMountain Times, the FREE newspaper in Killington, It includes the week's activities, and useful information

.

The Killington Road (aka the Access Road) is home to the commercial side of the mountain. There you will find many restaurants, ' a gas station' , a bakery, and many ski shops. In the past few years, our family has raved about Northern Ski Works, particularly for their skills with mounting. Check them out if you need skis or boots. You may also find accessories and gear at many other reputable shops. If you need to pick up food, there is only the Killington Market, located near the Fire House. There are numerous restaurants, but lately we go early in the evening (by 6:30) to the Wobbily Barn for dinner. Steak, seafood, salad bar etc are notable. It is a dance and crazy bar as the night progresses. We like the Tapas Bar at The Garlic for an early appetizer. The bartenders have many local stories to share, as they scoot around in their hiking shorts. They know the local stuff!

We have owned Royal East since 1986, and purchased our home as a place where we brought our children and their friends each season. As we shared activities with them, and prepared meals together, we learned how important it was to regularly relax together. The fireplace has always been the focus on the main floor. Please do not make the fire in the fireplace get too hot by adding more newspapers to a good fire. Please make sure you extinguish the fire on the morning of your departure (by 11AM).

We hope that you enjoy your vacation at our home, and know that you and your guests will leave with great memories of your time together at Royal East.

Thank You.
