Eagles Nest at Daniel Point is a large (5200 sq ft) and beautiful home built on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The home was the PNE prize home for 2000 and sits on 3/4 of an acre with its own private cove. It has a large number of windows which look out on the views, an 18 foot ceiling in the livingroom, and all the finishings in the house are first class. There are three decks all facing west to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The main level has a large and well appointed kitchen. There are three ovens, 6 gas burners, two refridgerators and two in-island coolers for veg and fruits. The mediaroom has a highend system with surround sound for great movie watching. The library is well stocked with a wide variety of books for a good read. The master bedroom has a wonderful king bed and the other three bedrooms have equally great queen beds. The gamesroom (1200 sq. ft) has a pool table, foosball, air hockey and a ping pong table (and a beer fridge-sorry, you have to fill it). Outside the gamesroom is a large deck with a hot tub. This is a great place to relax at the end of the day and watch the sun go down.
Outside there is a childrens play area with a slide, swing, sand pit and toys. Below the house is a large patio for sun tanning. And below that is a private beach with its own deck. There are three kayaks located there for guests to take out on the ocean and enjoy. There are many places to paddle. One place we like is a group of islands a short distance offshore which are the home for many seals and sea lions.
The beach itself is not sandy. Proper footwear is needed to walk on the stones. The water, even in the summertime, is not very warm but I like to take a dip on hot days. For swimming I would recommded going to one of the nearby lakes. They are very warm and pleasant in the summer.

We were particularly impressed by the natural beauty of the area and when we saw this wonderful home with such an incredible view, we decided to buy it. There isn't a day goes by that we don't pinch ourselves over how lucky we were to find this home.
The best thing about Eagles Nest is you can choose to be very active with a multiple of physical and mental activities or you can just sit on the deck sipping wine. You can watch the ocean with its many boats or the eagles as they soar overhead.
Whether our days have involved hiking, kayaking, swimming or just sunning ourselves, we always have a very peaceful, contented feeling. (Almost sounds like a John Denver song doesn't it).
Stayed up here with some family and friends and from what we saw from photos we knew it was going to be a lot of fun, little did we know how many other incredible activities and views there are in the area. We encountered many bald eagles flying around, we kayaked to a small island off the shore teaming with seals, deer roam the area freely at all times and while going for a hike on pendar hill we spotted a black bear and a cub in the distance. The photos that are posted here don't do this retreat justice, beyond the home there are countless things to do and even if your not an adventure seeker, the retreat itself is full of things to do on your own or with friends. Even the neighbours that are up there are pleasant folks and super friendly. The best way to sum this place up is if the stepford wives were actually real and lived on the west coast of BC.
Our expectations were exceeded renting this gorgeous spot for a Couple's Weekend. The booking was so easy and we were thrilled with the home upon our arrival. We were greeted with breathtaking views and tons of space for all 8 of us (and 2 dogs!) to stay comforatably over our four day weekend. We enjoyed wine on the deck, kayaking, local hikes, movies in the theater room, dinner in the gourmet kitchen and curling up with a good book in one of the many reading nooks. Even when the weather didn't cooperate on the last day, we were more than entertained in the games room. The owner is very dog-friendly and was an absolute pleasure. I would definitely recommend Eagles Nest to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious and fun place to unwind!
WOW! What a place and what a location. We were a group of 8 assorted close family over 3 generations and with 2 dogs. Eagles nest was just perfect for us. When 8 year old Sam walked into the house he said "Holy Macaroni" ! The house is stunning and Murray has equipped it so thoughtfully. We had fantastic weather and were able to swim in the cove and make use of the kayaks. The children loved Katherine Lake and were thrilled to see the Painted Turtles there as well as so many Eagles, Humming Birds, Deer, Chipmunks huge Starfish and Seals round the house. Sadly no Orcha - this time!
The huge games room was a great success and so cool when it was too hot to be active outside.
A really great family holiday with plenty of space to all enjoy quiet time as well as have fun together.
Very special memories were made and we are still talking about it.
Would love to return sometime or better still, win the lottery and make Murray an offer he can't refuse !!!
This is a luxury home on the ocean with amazing views - the owner is so sweet and great to deal with - We had the most fabulous week - Every amenity and absolutely more
Great fishing - lovely area - great neighbourhood
Just wanted to thank you for our wonderful stay at Eagles Nest! Our extended family holiday included people aged 16 to 85. Eagles Nest and the surrounding area provided so many memorable experiences for all of us. Your home is absolutely spectacular, inside and out! It is so well appointed and beautifully decorated - WOW! - but also has such a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for a family holiday. We really enjoyed the use of your kayaks (and the workout from that incredible staircase down to the beach!) and of course the fabulous views from the sundecks! Watching deer casually strolling through your garden and enjoying the views of eagles and so many other different birds added to the experience. We also loved the "share" wine bar you've established - trying different wines and replacing them with our own favourites was such a great idea :) We all wished we could have stayed another week... you have created such a special place here.
I wanted to take a quick moment to let you know what a great time we had at your home last week. Your wonderful home ( along with some pretty amazing weather) made for the perfect family get together.
My sister and her family came out from Ontario to visit us and your place was the perfect venue. The location was stunning -- the view from the deck at sunset is actually my desktop photo now.
The beach was great too -- the trip up the stairs became quite the topic of conversation and a few of us did the challenge of the 2X without stopping. The stairs actually became my workout every morning -- beats a tread mill any day! We enjoyed the kayaks and paddled across to the next island and ended up seeing a seal....it made the paddling worth it.
We also were lucky enough to see 2 orcas in the water on Wednesday night which was a thrill for everyone and we had some amazing visits from the eagles.
Your information on hikes and surrounding lakes was great - we hiked Mt. Daniel and spent several afternoons cooling off at Katherine Lake.
The trip was really lovely and hopefully we will be lucky enough to have the chance to visit your home again.
There are three kayaks at beach for use by guests, a young childrens play area and two bikes for guest use.
We have a local chef who is available to prepare dinners at Eagles Nest. Guests who have used his services have been very pleased. If you wished to take advantage of this service, it would be advised you reserve him well before your arrival.
A registered massage therapist is available to come to the house and provide her services. If you wish to set up an appointment prior to arrival that can be done by contacting her directly at email@example.com
