Kailua Kona Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1K, 1Q baths en suite + Convertible bed, 3rd guest bath bath

With a prestigious location in the Kona Pacific complex, one of Kona's premier properties, our condo offers the best there is in spacious, luxurious Hawaiian accomodations. Our location is simply ideal. Just a half block off bustling Alii Drive and all of the waterfront shops, restaurants, and activities; yet quiet, private, and relaxing. We are just two blocks from a favorite local surfing spot, Honl's Beach, and easy walking distance to the quaint and picturesque Historic Kailua-Kona Village, the very heart of the Big Island's famous Kona Coast.

With complete elevator accessibility, professionally manicured grounds and secure designated underground parking, this is the place to stay! This lovely vacation condo is 1300 spacious square feet of elegance with a huge wrap-around lanai that guarantees outside comfort. Our condo has two private queen suites with their own full baths. Each suite has lanai access to enjoy the tropical scenery. A fully equipped kitchen and large living room with a third full bath along with full size laundry facilities create the perfect vacation retreat that quickly feels like home.

The Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii offers stunning natural beauty and some of the best and most reliable good weather to be found in the Hawaiian Islands. The Big Island is a treasure trove of Hawaiian history that spans the first ancient Polynesian discovery of the islands to the present. The Kona Coast is a tropical playground of small isolated sandy beaches and home to one of the world's most productive bill fishing grounds. On the east side of the Big Island, the erupting Kilauea volcano expands the island's size, while at the top of Mauna Kea, some of the world's most powerful telescopes expand man's knowledge of the universe. Few other destinations offer the amazing diversity of activities and sights, all at reasonable, affordable prices. Whether it's an active family vacation, or a quiet escape to paradise, our 'Hale Honu Kai' and the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii is the perfect place to relax.

About Tammy

Jerry Geissler, and Mike and Paula Schnarr are proud to offer their condo for your use. Mike and Jerry are retired firefighters from California who also happen to be pretty handy at construction work, having built several homes on the mainland. When our condo was purchased, it was completely original from the date it was built. Our remodel work started with the removal of everything from the condo. It was stripped to the bare concrete walls before we started the rebuilding process. Even the old 'popcorn' ceilings were stripped, and all ceilings and walls re-textured and painted. Custom cherry cabinets for the kitchen and all three baths were ordered and shipped from the mainland. All bath tub surrounds were stripped and refitted with new tile. A large, custom shower was constructed for the master bath. While Mike and Jerry were busy with all this construction, Paula and Janine were in full shopping mode. They selected solid teak for most of the furniture. New towels, linens, bedspreads and curtains were also procured. The kitchen outfitted with new cookware, dishes, silverware and small appliances. We wanted the condo to have a very Hawaiian feel to it, but we also consciously avoided the usual pure white walls and bamboo furniture that is seen in many condos. All of our colors, textures, and furniture was hand picked, one piece at a time. Although the girls did most of the work selecting all this stuff, Mike and Jerry were instrumental in the selection and installation of the 42' flat-screen TV. We hope you will feel instantly comfortable here, just as we do when we come.

Tammy purchased this condo in 2007

Why Tammy chose Kailua Kona

The Kona Pacific complex is an undiscovered gem on the Kona Coast. Many of the condos that we considered purchasing were of wooden construction, and poorly maintained....and it showed. Kona Pacific is a refreshing change from that. It is constructed completely of concrete, and meticulously maintained. I suspect it looked much the way it does now when it was new. So, we were sold on the quality construction, perfect maintenance, and the manicured grounds and pool. Pride of ownership shows all over this place.

The second thing that attracted us to the Kona Pacific was the perfect location. It is far enough from the breaking waves to be peacefully quiet, yet close enough to get a good ocean view from the lanai. It is a short walk to a great little sandy beach with showers, bathrooms, grass and shade. A short walk north leads you to the Historic Kailua Village. Being able to walk to amenities and entertainment is priceless.

What makes this condo unique

One of our favorite things to do here, is walking to the village. In the morning, you can't beat KONA coffee and breakfast while overlooking Kailua Bay. Huggo's on the Rocks, and the Lava Java are our favorites, and two of the first places you come to on your walk.

In the evening, a short walk across the street will take you to the Royal Kona Resort and is one of the bests places to watch the sun set. One of our fondest memories is sitting at the Royal Kona, sipping on a Mai Tai and watching the cruise ships sail off into the sunset....literally.

Sometimes when we can't decide what to do for dinner, we just walk into the village to see what looks good. There is always something going on at one of the eateries.....somebody will have two dollar mai tais or other specials that are always a good place to start. Then, you can walk further down Alii to find a good place to eat. The historic Kona Inn has fabulous ocean view dinning. They have a formal dining room, and a seating area near the bar that offers more affordable, quicker fare. After dinner, it's time for ice cream and a stroll. There are countless little ice cream and shaved ice shops in the village. We still haven't found them all, and they all have their own unique flavors. It's the perfect way to end your evening before heading back home.

Beautiful condo, perfect for everyone and a great location

  • 5 of 5
This condo exceeded our expectations, which is difficult to do! We stayed for 10 days and the condo had everything which made our stay feel like a home away from home. The beds were cozy, the lanai was literally twice the size we expected, the condo was so clean and updated. We were close enough to walk to any restaurant and tons of great shops. You must go to Java on the Rocks for breakfast which is just down and across the street. They have tables in the sand, just kick off your flip flops and your dining beachfront! For sightseeing we rented an SUV since we wanted to head to Mauna Kea. We also visited Hilo, (on the way home stop off at Tex Drive In for a bavarian cream malasada, your welcome), Waimea (must try Hawaiian Style Cafe, awesome breakfast!), Black Sand Beach with sea turtles resting right on the beach, Kilauea Crater. We also spent a day at Pearl Harbor which was incredible. We booked our own flight to Honolulu and tickets to all the tours. Since we bought everything individually we were on our own schedule and stayed as long as we wanted at each stop. Take the first early morning flight out and last flight back to make the most of Pearl Harbor. This condo is so close to the airport, it made our island hop easy.

When we return to Kona, there is no need for us to even look anywhere else. Tammy was always available and responsive to any questions we had and she made sure we knew we could contact her with any questions during our stay. I highly recommend this condo, you will not be disappointed.

Owner's Response: These guests seem to have managed to do it all. Top of Mauna Kea, Volcanos National Park, Hilo and Waimea and all points in-between. Getting over to see Pearl Harbor is just as easy as they mentioned. And don't forget all the good eats on the island. Plan ahead for that.

Couldn't have been more perfect

Couldn't have been more perfect

Where to start as everything about this condo was perfect..... Beautifully decorated, they have a lot of cute Hawaiian finishes, good sized bedrooms for 4 adults which included air con (we needed this during our stay it was really hot & humid), the patio furniture was extremely comfortable, the kitchen well equipped & although we didn't use them they had a good selection of beach equipment. Everything was in good working order and seemed to be fairly new.

One of the things that impressed me the most was the cleanliness of this unit. I work for a hotel and have extremely high standards, one of the most reoccurring notes our guests mention is the house keeping services.... This condo was spotless as where the complex grounds, we used the pool one evening while it was raining and had so much fun. Generally there seemed to be plenty of opportunities to have the pool area to yourself.

Loved the undercover parking & it's location, location, location! For exploring the volcanoes I personally feel this condo is a little too far, my recommendation would be to base yourself here and maybe stay 3/4 nights over the Hilo side for volcano activities, but for exploring the entire west side and all the way north and south you won't find a better place to stay. Literally on the outskirts of the town it's no more then a 5 minute walk to beaches, shops & restaurants, the actual complex itself is peaceful best of both worlds! Let's not forget the close & easy proximity to the international airport.

My husband & I are in love with the big island and are already thinking of our return. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at this condo again the only thing that may hold us back is that we would be traveling as a party of 2 as opposed to 4, but we would definitely try & stay in this same complex reaching out to the owners of this unit before looking elsewhere.

We didn't have much communication with Tammy as it wasn't necessary but what communication we did have was extremely pleasant & efficient. If your reading this don't look any further this unit will not disappoint.

Owner's Response: It is amazing how a person can read a review and be right there, imagining how their vacation will be when they arrive. it is great to have prior guests share where they have been and all the things to do. When you make your reservations, you will have a good idea of where to go and what to expect.

Lovely base for a Big Island vacation

  • 4 of 5
My family of five stayed here June 2014 and enjoyed it thoroughly. Lovely, quiet pool. Walking distance to a small beach, restaurants, bars, coffee, and most of the Kona village sights. Everything very well maintained and the condo is equipped with everything you need for a great time in Hawaii. Comfortable beds, gracious and responsive hosts.

Kailua- Kona Vacation

  • 5 of 5
This is a fantastic place to stay. The condo has everything to make your stay comfortable and convenient ... nice pool, great views, pool side BBQs, covered parking, clean and well maintained grounds and buildings.
The condo is within reasonable walking distance to the beach and to town. It is nicely furnished with everything you would need. The beds are extremely comfortable and made for very restful nights. The pictures do not do it justice.
The owners and manager are the best ... you will not find a better condo in which to stay on the big island.

Owner's Response: Aloha, and thank you for taking time to write a lovely review of our condo. Many vacationers looking for a place to stay read reviews and depend on that information to help select the right place for them.
You have shared wonderful insight for future guests. We hope you will return to Kailua-Kona, HI and stay with us again. Mahalo

Excellent stay.

  • 5 of 5
We had a fantastic and relaxing stay in Kona. The condo was very clean, well maintained, with lots of beach supplies(of which I donated a new beach umbrella:-). The condo is very nicely furnished with very comfortable beds and a very quiet place to stay. The pool and BBQ area is quiet. For the 12 days we were there we had only seen 1 other person cooking so that made it easy to cook when no one is around, unlike other places I've stayed and you're waiting for a BBQ for 30mins to cook. It's very close to downtown and the beach. Everything was walking distance for us. We met the owner and the booking lady (which I can not mention their names)and what great and friendly people they are. Thank you for the wonderful stay you made our vacation very comfortable.

Owner's Response: We are so glad your stay was "excellent". Thank you for the addition of the beach umbrella. I am certain other guest will benefit from it. We have had umbrellas before but sometimes they get forgotten at the beach or in a rental car.
I am glad you were able to meet our manager. Since we do not live on the island, it is important to us that the person you meet is wonderful and attentive to all your needs. We hope you will return some day.

The Perfect Place To Stay!

  • 5 of 5
This truly was a perfect place to stay. Your only a block away from the start of everything. This is a very clean, very spacious and gorgeous condo. We came with our two boys and stayed for three weeks and it felt like home. The manager of the suite was very friendly and she answered any question I had very quickly. I've already recommended this place for some friends that want to come next year with their kids. This place books up fast so I wouldn't wait long before making a decision or it will be gone. Also it's very reasonably priced for the area! Thank you for a wonderful stay in Kona!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review. We think having a place that has everything you need and is perfectly located, is what we all want in a vacation condo. Thanks also for the nice remarks about our manager, Tammy. She really goes out of her way to accommodate our guest.
