Oceanside House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)
The house is 1.5 hours from Portland and has a pretty incredible ocean view. It is on a small road between Oceanside and Cape Meares and is above short beach (called Agate Beach by the locals and about a 10 minute walk down a somewhat steep path with stairs)). The house is close to surfing, hiking, fishing, clamming and crabbing and you may even see a whale from the kitchen table while eating dinner (we have).
The house itself is a cool mix of wood panels, grandma style and modern elements. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and it easily sleeps 10. If you bring airbeds could probably accommodate many more. We have a large stone fireplace and plenty of firewood for cool nights. There is wireless internet, a LCD TV, DVD player and speakers, but no cable TV. We have a library of books and DVDs for entertainment and while there is a phone, it is only hooked up for emergency calls. People can call you at the home, however.

About The Owner
I work in design and moved to Portland from NYC 5 years ago.
The Owner purchased this house in 2010
Why The Owner chose Oceanside
I love the ocean, especially this part of the OR coast. It is between Cape Lookout and Cape Meares, has amazing scenery and seems to have better weather than much of the coast - and Portland for that matter. There are numerous weekends when all of Western Oregon is supposed to be rainy when the sun is shining at this home.
What makes this house unique
Rain or shine, I love staring at the ocean and this house amazing views from the deck and the living area. We've seen whales while eating dinner at the kitchen table. Bald eagle sightings are also fairly common.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Patrick and Kate's place is amazing! So quiet and relaxing, I watched the waves and birds migrating for hours. I loved waking up in the morning and walking along what, with only a few parking spots, is almost a private beach. And we're excited to go back!
