Not worth the price.
This house is decent but it wasn’t in the shape I was expecting given the price. Really I expected so much more for what we paid. When we got there our first impression was “this can’t be it”. There is an extra step in front of the porch that looks crooked from the driveway because the walkway is loose making the place look run down. It was hard to find. The address should be posted on the house so that travelers know they found the right place. We called the owner twice and even left a message to get help finding the place and no one returned our call. A courtesy return call to make sure we found it would have been nice.
The patio furniture is worn and rusted and left out in the elements to be weathered. The room upstairs is interesting. It does not have a door on the room and the bathroom is open. The room is closed with a curtain and if you are in there with someone there is no privacy to the upstairs bathroom. The tub upstairs drained so slowly we decided not to use it because we were afraid the water would just sit. The toilet downstairs runs and makes a screeching noise that took some time to get used to. The smoke alarm goes off after taking a shower. The windows need to be hosed off from the outside. They are covered with webs, mosquitos and water stains. We didn’t notice the hole in the screen upstairs until the last day but it explained how we woke up with mosquito bites every morning.
We booked the place for 4 adults but although it is advertised 1 king and 1 queen, we ended up with 1 queen and 2 singles. The singles looked quite used and not super sturdy.
It is a cute house but needs to be a bit more cared for if they want to charge what they were asking. I have rented other places all over the world and this is comparable to something for which I should have paid a lot less. It kind of looks like someone built it themselves but missed some details – Like electric plates with no switch and holes with no electric plates and unfinished trim.
The kitchen and living areas were clean. The river running through the backyard is really nice and the reason why we picked the place. And it is dog friendly so that was a major plus.
We rented this house to visit Yellowstone but that is a 2.5 hour drive at least to get to the entrance. Not the houses fault just wanted people to know its not that close.
We were also surprised that the owner came by at 8:30am on check out day even though check out was 10am.
