Overview

Jaco Condo Rental Photos and Description

3 Fantastic Bedrooms, 2 Great Baths, air mattress with electric pump

A beautiful 60 minute ride in from San Jose International Airport along the new and scenic highway or a 90 minute breath taking ride down the 'recently' old (only since highway) mountain road and you arrive at the privat gated entrance to Tres Regalos Beachfront Condominium Resort. After a long day of traveling the highway works well for most but keep in mind that the mountain Road is well worth the ride to many. The gates are opened and you enter the jungle style laid brick paver parking area and all its beautiful flowers. You walk between the two buildings passing the Bodega and you are at the pool with the Pacific Ocean only steps away. You ride the elevator to the third floor and open your condo and walk into a beautiful impeccably decorated airconditioned 3-bedroom master peice. Walk stright into the living room and look out over the balcony directly at the Pacific Ocean in front of you, the pool directly below you and the Mountains, Rain Forest and River off to your right.

Incredible: The 3rd floor balcony boasts a bamboo bar with stools as well as a large table and chairs for your enjoyment including viewing of the most incredible sunsets you will ever experience almost believing that the ocean is on fire as the sun drops directly in front of you into the Pacific. As you sit on the balcony with the Ocean in front of you and the mountains and rainforest to your right as well as a fresh water river flowing from the rainforest into the ocean you are completely surrounded by nature.

The moon keeps the ocean in full view at night and the sounds of the waves unfolding on the beach is all you will hear making for a fantastic nights sleep. Arise early in the morning to catch the remaining moments of the moon and watch the fisherman heading out for the day in their boats while enjoying the worlds best and most incredible coffee.

Tours and Trips: Any and all tours can be booked through the front office including World Class Fishing through our partnerships with some of the best boats and captians in Costa Rica! Groceries can be purchased on your behalf and awaiting your arrival. Taxi service to and from your front door through our trusted and knowledgeble English speaking drivers. Courier Services via our incredible onsite, friendliest staff on the beach. Including assistance with all your needs. Ask Paulo at the front gate for a surfing lesson - he is a great surfer, a good friend and an awesome teacher. Baby sitting services can be arranged through our trusted staff as well. This will be done in your condo if so desired and the girls are great. Usually our manager Mario's wife can and will assist you here shall you desire a dinner out without the kids.

Eating and drinking: Lists and Lists of Restuarants await your arrival. From the inexpensive 'typico' Costa Rican family style family run establishments to the 5 star 'dress me up and take me out' more expensive type and everything in between. The food is great at most and there are some hidden secrets so please ask as you will be absolutley delighted at where and what you can enjoy for food. The local grocery stores all sell fresh and wonderful food including some great never been seen before local fruits including incredible watermelon, fresh Plantain and bananas, and everything else you could imagine. The local Jaco Farmers Market is even better as the vegetables and fruits line the street for blocks and is simply great. From local fresh water mountain river shrimp, which come in about the size of a small lobster to the worlds best ceviche and most incredible coffee you have ever had you will be amazed. Sit on the balcony and wait for the sunset - NUTS!! Watch the lightning storms over the ocean later.

About Don Gilbride

Born and raised in Massachusetts and now raising two kids, two Boxers, two Cats, and running an electrical contracting firm here in the very same state. I have a absolutely beautiful wife named Denise I can't imagine life without and some day we hope to spend a lot more time here ourselves. We have been many places but coming home typically means we are heading to Costa Rica to our incredible condo on the beach here in Jaco.

Don Gilbride purchased this condo in 2009

Why Don Gilbride chose Jaco

We spent lots of time looking and more time visiting many properties before buying here. The site was just a lot of land at the time and the location sold us. The plans for the facility and renderings showing what was finally built and now our home away from home showed a perfectly matched facility that simple fits in with its surroundings. We love our condo and we are positive you will as well!

What makes this condo unique

The Mediterranean style of our facility has beach front written all over it. Our pool area and grounds are gorgeous. We are so close to everything, centrally located so as to give the best opportunity to see as much as possible yet we are unique and in our own little section at the end within only a 100 ft of the mountains with incredible scenery from all sides. A secluded beach tucked in behind a recess in the mountains only feet away with allow ability to walk along the rocks and to a waterfall that flows down from the hills and drops down on top of you. A great pool bar with stools you can sit on while in the pool, grilling area, outside shower, hot tub and so much more. You will be glad you came and the worst part will be having to eventually leave. You will be back and always miss the feeling this facility and our home will give to you.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Don,

Sorry for taking so long to respond to your email, things have been very busy since returning from our vacation in Costa Rica.

We did have a wonderful holiday and enjoyed staying as Tres Regalos very much. Your condo is a perfect size for 6 people, very comfortable, and tastefully furnished.

We loved the pool and the staff were all excellent. Other residents we met were also very friendly and helpful. We did enjoy getting to know Leo and he was extremely helpful with his recommendations. We loved sitting out on the balcony in the evening. Walking and running on beach, watching the surfers and playing in the waves was great fun too.

D'Mario's was a friendly little place to go and Mario helped us get a Tres Leches cake for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and it was delicious. We went to the Villa Caletas to celebrate my parents anniversary, enjoyed a fabulous sunset before a wonderful and special dinner.

We rented 2 bikes for $40 each so that we could go to store easily and we were glad we did this as it was good exercise too!

We really enjoyed the local zip lining and had a good trip to Manuel Antonio National Park. It was a bit busy and although we did see animals / birds they were some distance away and / or sleeping. We had been to an animal rescue near San Jose and were spoiled with close up encounters with two/three toes Sloths, Monkey's, a Porcupine, Macaws, owls and Toucans. We enjoyed the swimming at the beach in the park and had an excellent lunch after the tour.

Thank you for all of your help and recommendations.

The perfect Jaco Stay

  • 5 of 5

I must say, i was initially apprehensive of booking this wonderful place. The owners Don and Denise were/are super helpful that, as a New Yorker i was hesitant (I mean we are just are not used to people who are both nice and extremely helpful). After my booking Both Don and Denise constantly reached out to suggest activities, places to visit and anything helpful that they thought we ought to know, they really do go above and beyond to ensure your comfort.

Upon arriving, i instantly fell at home, the place is well furnished and stocked (i mean FULLY stocked) with linens and towels, to run out of them would mean you change linen twice a day or something.

The 3 bedroom condo is very spacious, THAT you do not see from the pictures. We had a group of 7 with some over night crashers (had some friends who were at the best western down the street), one of the nights we all ended up crashing and we did not feel one bit cluttered.

Security, maintenance workers and cleaners were all friendly and helpful (The whole city of Jaco is like that) but, these staffers went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable(they also know what bars to go on any given night which was a plus). We had a BBQ on our last night there, and the security on duty did an amazing job setting up the place for us (cleaning the grill before and after) setting up the propane gas, trash can etc.

All in all, i would recommend this place again and plan to visit Jaco (I fell in love, the sunsets are beyond words) and will most definitely be staying at this place.

I will say that the Crocs casino which is next door had their grand opening the night we got there and though there is some noise from the music, the levels weren't any bother at all. The Casino General Manager lives in this complex also and he does a good job not disturbing his neighbors tranquility.

THANK YOU!!!!!! Don and Denise from my group, truly appreciate it.

Owner's Response: Hi Damola and friends. Denise and I are happy to hear you and your friends had such a great time. The staff will miss you all for sure and I'm sure Jaco will as well! It's a great town as you discovered, full of beautiful people and great places to go. We can't thank you all enough for calling our home your own having found it better than you expected. Nice View

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed the view from the patio and livingroom/diningroom area. Beautiful property and very nice staff. Very clean pool area and enough pool furniture for all. When we arrived we could not access the property from the main road, we had to drive down a side road, drive along the beach then back up a side road due to maintance. When we arrived at the condo was very surprised that a major resort/casino was just being completed right next to this condo. Loud construction noise would start at 6:30 in the morning and sometimes go till 8:30 at night. No privacy from the two spare bedrooms. We should have asked the owners when renting if any construction etc. was going on but one would think they would tell you. The condo also needs minors maintenace (painting, handles on dressers, table on patio, dresser handles missing, blind in spare bedroom could not open) and the owners website updated. No restaurant across the street and we asked about the fish market and the staff said it was at the other end of town. Also no king bed in the master bedroom, it is a queen.

Owner's Response: Dear Wendy and Mike, Denise and I are so sorry you didn't find things as much to your liking as we hope all our guests do. The construction next door, unexpectedly behind schedule, finished up just a couple days after you left. We had consistently been told of a completion date prior to Christmas and intentionally didn't rent for a solid year so as not to expose guests to the noise created by the construction. Each time we thought the noise over and or at least minimized a change in plan and or allowance to start early and or work late had many guests at the facility having to put up with noise. The road was closed due to planned improvements the new casino next door agreed to make so as to allow two lanes of traffic over the small bridge crossing the river at the same time. This was really a good thing and again we didn't know they had closed down the small section opening up a short detour allowing folks to drive on the beach and around this small area of road work. I talked to a few guests who had stayed who assured me it was well marked and not in anyway a problem. We should have known and forwarded this info to you just the same so we apologize to you both for not doing so. The good thing is that the road work is completed and the casino with it's four top restaurants are open now and provide our guests with some great options for food and drink as well as entertainment and have given jobs to many of the Costa Rican folks trying to support their families. The "former" (recently closed) Marios Restaurant that was right out of our gates and to the left has closed and I will update my site to let folks know this. Marios now runs Marios Express and delivers food, alcohol, pizza, groceries and or anything else that can be purchased direct to your door and or poolside. The fish market Denise and I always go to is only a short walk and or quick bicycle ride into the beginning of town, 1/2 mile at most, and behind the bakery. It's the only one we know of actually and after speaking with Leo, our off site manager, he confirms it is still going strong. Our home had recently had some updated painting done to handle some scrapes and scratches on the walls leading in from outside. The area we see with damage to the wall paint at time occurs in the hall just off the balcony and is typically caused by luggage being dragged in and or out by guests tired upon arrival and or hating to leave. It will be taken care of immediately. Thanks Mike and Wendy.

Beautiful location, excellent service, great views!!

Great place nice decorations inside the unit as well as patio. The pool was another favorite part. And the location can't be beat, half water half jungle. There was also a very cute puppy playing in the courtyard from another tenant that we got to play with while by the pool. The beds and showers were another huge plus, very high end. Also the guards were very nice and helpful made me feel safe 24 hours a day. Thanks again to the ownerd it doesn't get much better than this unit as well as how easy they were to work with

Outstanding Stay

  • 5 of 5

I leased this unit for 6 months. You will find it is definitely as advertised. It is modern, spacious, all the amenities, great pool, & convenient to everything in Jaco. I have traveled extensively through Central America and Costa Rica and there are a lot of choices. What makes this unit very special, more so than any other I have ever leased, are the owners!! Don and Denise Gilbride are first class people who will take care of any issues you have very quickly. Example, the first night I was there the AC went out. As luck would have it, I had my largest client with me. As anyone who has traveled Costa Rica knows getting things done there can be challenging. I emailed Don at 5 am before we went fishing and by the time we got back in that afternoon AC was fixed. We had no other issues the balance of our time but Don would email me to make sure all was good. Now for Denise, she was a delight to work with. Never once did she charge my credit card without her emailing me to verify the charge first and to make sure all was good with the rental. She did that every month even though I had a 6 month contract. Don I want to thank both you and Denise for everything ya'll did to make it a successful trip for my customers and myself. Thank you so much!!!

I couldn't be happier that things worked out so well for your customers with the fishing. You had one hell of a season. We will miss you Mel and hope that you stay in touch.

A Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

I took my family to Jaco with the highest of recommendations from Don and Denise's sister. From the moment we met Don before our trip I instantly felt like I was part of the family! Don explained every opportunity we would have in Costa Rica and which ones were the most important to do! He set us up with everything we could possibly need, connected us with his closest friends down there, and even called a cab from the US to pick us up to take us to dinner our first night there!! The condo is serene. As soon as you walk in the door you know that leaving this hidden gem is going to be close to impossible. We did everything that Don and Denise recommended- we went deep sea fishing (a MUST DO!), zip lining, climbed a waterfall, visited Manuel Antonio National Park (were we saw monkeys!!), watched a surfing competition, and ate the most incredible, fresh food we have ever eaten! The local Costa Rican's are the most friendly people you have ever met and strive to make you feel like you're at home! Heres a great example- we were all laying by the pool that overlooks the beach and a man comes riding up on his horse, my daughter, who has been riding horses for the last fifteen years, runs up to him and he immediately asks her if she wants to get on and take his horse for a ride around the beach! The locals are truly incredible and genuine people! I cannot express how thankful I am to Don and Denise for the recommendations, help and guidance they gave my family and I to ensure that we had the most memorable vacation of our lives! Jaco is a very special place and I cannot recommend staying at Don and Denise's condo highly enough! You will not want to leave!

Owner's Response: Peggy! We would like to take this time to thank you and tell you how happy we are that this trip worked out so well. I know how much this trip meant to you and the trust you placed in Denise and I in telling you how much fun you would have. I am so very happy that things all came together the way I knew they could. Your fishing trip was a huge success and we still are laughing at your pictures of trying to pull in the big ole sailfish! We hope to see you again soon Peggy, Domenic and Sarah. I know many folks in Costa Rica that would all love to see you again as well. You all were great guests and have become very good friends. Don

Notes:
Maids are on site each morning until the end of the day. Typically we provide one minor cleaning each week. Daily maid service or additional 'when ever needed' service is available, if desired, for an additional cost. Our girls are great and it is a huge help to them and their families when you leave something small for a tip. Most guests will leave around 20.00 to 30.00 dollars a week. Shall you want your laundry completed including wash, dry, fold, and delivery just ask for Leyla and the girls. A few extra dollars and the service and smile you recieve in return are priceless! The help you provide to a beautiful family is again Priceless! We have the best girls and maids in Costa Rica and or anywhere. You can ask for anything and most times we can and will provide. From booking of transportation to tours and or a simple ride to the bank and most times the answer is 'no problem' 'no worries' and or 'hop in'!
