Studio Marigot Ankie's Palmpies
My husband and I would like to thank Peter, Louise and Bas for a lovely vacation in St. Maarten last month. When we arrived, we went to the car rental- Hertz and picked up our vehicle ( You really need one to enjoy the island for an extended stay.). We called Louise from there to let her know we were on our way and she was waiting at the gate for us. The studio was perfect and just as the photos showed, with everything you would want for cooking, and comfort. The spacious patio was in shade by late afternoon, which was perfect for relaxing before dinner after a day at the beach. We explored the whole island and visited most beaches during our almost 3 weeks, choosing our favourites to visit more often, which included Baie Rouge, just a few minutes down the road. We found that the Simply Market a few minutes away had everything we needed and especially liked their delicious cheese and pâté/ sausage platters that were prepackaged for picnics at the beach. We enjoyed a number of the restaurants, but our nicest dinner was right next door at Mati Beach, sitting outside with a beautiful view of Marigot Bay. Carnival started after we arrived and we took in a concert and the Children's Parade- both great fun and not to be missed. We had been concerned that parking and driving would be an issue, but there was no problem at all. Our car battery died on the Sunday after we arrived and Hertz was there right away with a new one. We had no more car problems, so would book them again. The location is great, the owners were very helpful and friendly, and we would definitely recommend this property to others. Just a note-we we forgot about the European custom of not providing facecloths in hotels and rentals, so needed to buy some. So don't forget to bring your own.:)
We are missing our lovely time in St. Maarten, as the snow slowly disappears here in Canada!
