A little bit about our place...
A delightful, lovingly maintained lakeside cottage in one of the most beautiful places in the Upper Midwest.
Looking for 'ahh?'
Our cottage has an almost magical feel. Maybe it's the expansive view across 7,300-acre Green Lake. Maybe it's the cooling breeze to the shore. Or the star-filled sky while you're roasting 'mallows around the firepit.
You'll love our charming, 3 BR lake home that has a lovely mix of antiques and local Amish craftsman furniture. The huge deck overlooks the lake and has an electric awning that everyone seems to like. Our pier has a nice sitting area and a 4,000-lb hoist for your boat. A boat launch is a convenient quarter mile from the house.
The water is about 5.5 feet deep at the end of the private pier, and the lake has a sandy bottom that's very nice for swimmers. Kids love catching perch and blue gills off the end of the pier. If you're into fishing, Green Lake has offered up its share of big walleyes, bass and the occasional northern. The lake is also a great size for waterskiing, sailing and jetskis.
We have a shed and landing near the pier that have plenty of room for your toys.
The cottage sleeps a total of 8, offering a nice master bedroom with a king bed and two more bedrooms, each with 2 twins. Our beds are oh-so sleepable, with thick foam or down toppers.
The house has two gathering areas. The cozy porch room has a television, library and player piano, as well as a futon that sleeps 2. The living/dining room has a big antique oak table, which seats an army and offers those amazing views of the sunrise or a summer storm thundering across the lake.
We have one full bathroom with a tub/shower and a convenient powder room as well. We also have a washer and dryer.
The kitchen has all the dining and cooking items you'll need, in addition to a newer range, dishwasher and microwave. Outside we have a gas grill for you.
The yard has lots of lovely birds, from cardinals and orioles to the occasional bluejay. The surrounding wooded areas are home to deer, raccoons and tons of squirrels and chipmunks.
Golf, horseback riding, fun restaurants and shopping are within 15 minutes. The local Amish community has several stores within a half-hour's drive. The Wisconsin Dells are about 75 minutes away.
From Chicago, we're about a three-hour drive. 2 hours from Milwaukee, 1 hour from Madison. We're on the west end of the lake on Lakeshore Drive -- between Beyer's Cove and the Terrace. The cottage fronts the lake directly.
