Why The Owner chose Siesta Key

My wife's family owns property here in Siesta Key and it has been our primary family destination for years. As most know, Siesta Key beaches are regarded as the top in the State of Florida and throughout the US. It has proven to be a great place for family vacations, extended stays, and breaking away for golf and tennis trips with friends. We bought the home not as a vacation property, but a place that we can call home in the years to come. It offers close access to Sarasota entertainment and the airport is within 20 minutes of our home.

What makes this house unique

People come to Siesta Key to enjoy the beach, and you are literally across the street with direct access to the public beach, which includes attended lifeguard stations, public picnic areas, snack bar, tennis courts, and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. You can enjoy long walks on the beach, shelling, and sunsets at night, without all the congestion and hassle because it exists right outside your front door.

Last Spring Break with high school senior

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your very well appointed and beautifully furnished home. It fit our needs of being able to walk to the beach of village. A quiet surrounding even during spring break. We loved the space in the yard and large clean garage and laundry. Much better than a condo building.

It was a bonus and pleasure to meet Mrs. Bogart (owner) as we arrived as she was leaving. She graciously and with pride and enthusiasm showed us all the house has to offer.

Our senior could easily walk down to meet his friends at "condo lane".

Our friends stopped by and commented that the house looked like an architectural digest home.

Wonderful Beach House!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I were so happy with this delightful beach home! I did a lot of research beforehand on where to take our summer vacation and am so glad we found Siesta Key and this home. It really is in a perfect location, just a short walk to the beach and a walk or bike ride to town. We rented bikes for the week and it really was a perfect bike ride to town with a 10 and 6 year old. The home had everything we needed, was very quiet and private. We especially loved the use of the beach buggy and all the sand toys that were provided. The beach is absolutely amazing-we have never seen such white sand and the walk out to the water was perfect for the kids. The home is beautiful, just comfortable and we felt right at home. The owners were wonderful, made sure we had everything we needed and were just a phone call away. We would love to make Siesta Key an annual vacation if we can and will definitely stay here again! Thank you so much! This was our best summer vacation yet!

Wonderful accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We were so pleased with this vacation home! Beautifully appointed, perfect location within close proximity to the north end of Siesta Beach as well as the village for restaurants and shopping. The fenced property was perfect for privacy during busy spring break as well as for letting our son play in the yard without worrying about traffic or him wandering off. The village is about 3/4 of a mile walk or you can take one of the free shuttles back and forth to town. It's just a block away from the beach as well, and the north end is a little less crowded than the rest of it which is nice too. Our son enjoyed playing with the beach toys and they even had a grill which we used to get a break from eating out every night. The house isn't huge, but the two bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect for my 72 year old mother, 4 year old son, husband and me. Wonderful, relaxing vacation!

Charming beach house perfect for our stay in SK

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival we were greeted with exactly what was advertised and more. The house is beautifully appointed from top to bottom with everything we needed to make our week comfortable. Of course my favorite was the walk to "Americas number1 beach". (It is only 150 steps from the front walk!). We loved the fact that they provided beach chairs, and umbrellas for guests, and even sand toys for children! ( we didnot bring ours, however). The beds we comfortable, shower and bath very well appointed, and the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary items to make our stay comfortable. They have a nice flat screen television with a Bose sound system, so as a music lover, I enjoyed the opportunity to listen to great music while sitting on the Adarondack chairs on the deck while sipping a cocktail. Are you getting my drift? Perfect getaway home for 1-2 couples with amazing location. The restaurants were great, but we did most of our eating out in Sarasota, or St Armand's which was only a 15 minute drive.

We plan to make this place an annual visit, if available. We loved being in a neighborhood and met a neighbor whom couldn't have been kinder.

Great location, but wouldn't go back

  • 3 of 5

The house's location was wonderful, you're right across the street from the beach and about a 15 minute walk (at the most) from Siesta Key Village. That was the highlight. The day before arriving we were told that the second bathroom's main pipe broke making it unusable. Also, there were multiple landscapers and maintenance workers working around the house during our stay, forcing us to go somewhere else during the day to get away from the noise. It is very hot inside the house and the air conditioner has a hard time keeping up with the temperatures and ran constantly and very loudly all the time, so we bought a fan to cool us down. Siesta Key is wonderful, but we felt the best food and drinks were actually off the island either in Sarasota or St. Armand's.

Owner's Response: We did have an issue with our main plumbing line, which was mitigated by a licensed plumber, who recommended that we eliminate the use of this bathroom until a permanent solution could be completed. We notified the renters within 72 hours, not the day before, to make them aware of the problem. Our first concern was for the comfort and enjoyment of our guests and we also looked and secured back-up accommodations, if needed. When asked by the renters if we would give a further "discount", we offered to fully refund their entire rental fee, they declined. This was a secondary bath and they had full use of the master bathroom suite. On the rental contract they told us there were a total of (2) guests. In fact they had multiple guests, which is why the 2nd bathroom became an issue. In advance of anyone's stay, we let our guests know that we have a landscape service, which comes 1X week, which is required to maintain a private yard. This is a house, not a condo and the entire property is serviced in less than 1 hour. As a result of the recent tropical storm, we replaced a damaged exterior storage door and unfortunately, we were not notified that the contractor was on the property making the repair. All was completed in short order and without disruption to anyone in the house. The AC system was recently installed, it is a high efficiency system, and for those that know Florida in the summer, temperature and humidity exceeds the mid 90's, so one would expect the system to run frequently. We felt terrible that the bathroom issue occurred and we stayed in close communication with the renters to insure their stay met with expectations. We even received an email from the renters which said "your house is beautiful and we could not be in a better location". We even had a bottle of wine delivered to their house to again express our apologies. We try and do our best to plan and prepare for every situation, but some issues are out of our direct control and we worked openly and honestly to address the situation and with our guests as the priority. SK is a wonderful beach community and we believe there are great restaurants here as well for all to enjoy.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful place to stay! It was a block from the beach access. This beach access lead us to the edge of the public beach that wasn't as crowded. The house was very clean and equipped with all needed materials for the beach! We enjoyed the private deck, the flexibility to enjoy meals at the house, taking moderate walks to the village, and resting on the very comfortable beds! We would definitely recommend staying here!
