Beachwatch is a spacious 3 Bedroom 2 Bath oceanfront home directly on the best section of Guana Cay’s famous 5 mile beach. It is situated on a large 1 acre lot at the northwest corner of the Guana settlement, within easy walking distance of Nippers, Grabbers, the ferry dock, grocery store, and the liquor store. We have all the amenities of the other three bedroom oceanfront homes with a better location, and the best beach.

For those not familiar with Guana Cay, it is a barrier island located off of the main island of Abaco in the northeast Bahamas. It is accessed via a 35 minute ferry ride from Marsh Harbor, the third largest city in the Bahamas. Guana is a quiet, out of the way island with a fabulous 5 mile long white sand beach. It does have some nightlife in the form of three beachfront bars/restaurants, the most famous of which is Nippers. If you are looking for casinos, water parks, jets skis, etc, Guana is not for you. If you want quiet, relaxed, secluded beach time and great snorkeling or diving, Guana is for you.

For those familiar with Guana Cay, all you need to know is that Beachwatch is located on the beach about ¼ mile northwest of Nippers.

From the deck on top of the house, one can see far out into the Atlantic Ocean to the northeast, and all the way across the Sea of Abaco to Marsh Harbor to the southwest.

On the ocean side of the house, there is a large sundeck for relaxing and an outdoor table that seats 8 people. A walkway leads down to the white sugar sand beach, with a reef offshore a few hundred feet that offers excellent snorkeling.

The house is fully equipped with a gourmet kitchen, dishwasher, front loading washer/dryer, huge gas grill, full AC, ceiling fans, local and US telephone, free DSL internet, etc.

Beachwatch has all the amenities that you would expect in a deluxe rental, including a 26 KW auto start generator for the power outages that the Abacos are famous for.

Once you stay at Beachwatch, we think that you will agree that it is the best oceanfront rental value on Guana Cay

Why Clark Lagow chose Great Guana Cay

The Abacos are only 165 miles east of West Palm Beach, Florida. So getting there is fairly easy compared to locations further south such as the Virgin Islands. Until recently, it was occupied mostly by British Loyalists, who practiced fishing and boat building. The island is very laid back and friendly. As owners, we have become friends with both the local residents and many of the second home owners on the island.

What makes this house unique

Well, first there is the great beach in front of the house. Just sunbathing on the beach reading your favorite book is very enjoyable. Then there is a nice snorkeling reef between us and Nippers. We are Scuba divers, and Dive Guana will take you to some very nice dive sites in the general vicinity. If you like to sail, the Sea of Abaco is a nice place to do so, and sailboat rentals are available in Marsh Harbor. You can also rent a powerboat at Dive Guana and explore the whole Sea of Abaco (Man O War, Elbow Cay, etc.) on your own.

This house is in a wonderful location. Extremely close to Nippers and Grabbers and boat docks. It is right on the beach. Very well equiped.Yards are very well maintained also. I will definitely stay in this beach house again.

Comfortable house for two couples with kids. Location is central to all the best parts of Guana. On the beach but no beach view as the house sits a bit back from the beach.
Recommended for:  Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: Beachwatch was the FIRST house built on the Atlantic Ocean side of Guana Cay. At that time, the locals said "you are crazy to build on that side of the island". Thus, the house is about in the middle of a 1 acre waterfront lot. While it is true you cannot see the beach from the house, the view from the deck on top of the house is a 360 degree panorama of the Atlantic Ocean and the Sea of Abaco.

It is also about 100 ft. closer to the Atlantic Ocean than it was before hurricane Sandy, which sort of validates the wisdom of the locals.

We've been going to the Abaco's for many years and have had the pleasure of visiting many of the islands and several of the homes and cottages. BeachWatch is by far one of the best we have ever stayed in. During this trip we really needed a "get-a-way" but we also had a lot of business going on back home. The WiFi and stateside phone provided, allowed us to enjoy our trip and still conduct business as needed. It is the perfect place for a family or a couples retreat! The views from rooftop deck are stunning during the day and very romantic under the starts at night....... BeatchWatch is a true winner!

Our stay was AMAZING!! We just didn't have enough time on Great Guana. Clark, the owner, was invaluable in helping us locate the best flight and offer helpful tips to make our stay more enjoyable. Beach Watch is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy island time. The kitchen and living area were spacious with enough seating for a crowd but my favorite place to gather was on the deck enjoying the views of the beach. We spent the first evening on the upper deck surveying the whole island, watching the sun go down. Our island hopping excursions took us to New Providence, Green Turtle and we especially enjoyed Lubbers Quarters. The snorkeling was outstanding everywhere, including right on our own beach at Beach Watch. There was a wide and beautiful variety of fish, coral and the star fish were everywhere. The bedrooms at Beach Watch were so comfortable and cool that we could have slept most of the day away but the beaches called and we couldn't resist. You will know what I mean if you visit Beach Watch. Thank you for a wonderful trip Clark.

Nice house, well appointed. Great beach access. Island people are friendly. We found the food at the Guana Seaside Resort (Groupers) to be wonderful and highly recommend it. We had a great time.
