Casa Angeles is located in the Lincoln National Forest just two miles off a main road in Ruidoso. Perched at the foot of a mountain on one and one-half acres, the quiet serenity of the surroundings make it a perfect getaway for couples or individuals looking for a spiritual retreat in nature.
The cabin has one bedroom upstairs in the loft that accesses a private deck where deer, birds and other wildlife will pass by. The second bedroom is downstairs, making privacy for two couples. The cabin has central heat, ceiling fans and wood stove. Casa Angeles was built in 2004 and is the owners' second home. They have furnished it in a way that makes you feel like it's your home too. The kitchen is fully stocked with staples and cookware making it easy to go to the store for the main items and prepare delicious meals in the comfort of your retreat. There's a washer/dryer supplied with eco-friendly products for your convenience.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: Casa Angeles represents peace and tranquility. There's only one other cabin in sight. The cabin is stocked with everything you need to come in and make yourself at home. The deck in the back is the perfect perch to sip on your favorite beverage and watch the deer, elk or turkey go by. There's great hiking without driving anywhere but if you choose to go into town it's only 5 minutes. Best of all worlds.
We are Russell and Beckie Forsyth from Austin, Texas. We have been visiting New Mexico...The Land of Enchantment for 30 years thanks to friends that moved there. Summer 2001 was just too hot in Santa Fe so we checked the weather for the coolest spot in the state. It was Ruidoso. We drove in and fell in love with the community, the weather and the landscape. Over the next 5 years we kept visiting and visualizing our own home there. In 2006 we were blessed with selling a property in Austin that made it possible. Just when the money was there Casa Angeles was waiting for us...just as we had visualized with privacy, close to town, easy access and running water (year round so far). We're so blessed!
Forsyth purchased this cabin in 2006
dear forsyths , my wife and I stayed at casa Angeles oct 8-13. We wish to thank you for sharing your home with us . It was great to leave the heat of the valley and cool off in r. It was 40s at night and 60s in day. We did the usual tourist stuff , walked in the woods a lot and slept late. Everything was perfect with the house . We did stumble into a "cowboy reunion" events at the race track . Probably 5k people there and world class country western music . It is apparently annual . Thanks B
Couldn't have been better. Clean, organized. Even had organic supplies and baking products left over that we used to accommdate to our lifestyle. Plenty of wildlife around. Nice little stream and the deck was awesome. Great stay. Overall clean and comfortable
What an amazing stay at an amazing place!
We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and enjoyed every second!
Watching the deer and the birds was very relaxing and rejuvenated the soul.
This place is so comfortable, and cozy. You have neighbors but not right next door. This cabin has a private balcony and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. (Even though you're only 5 minutes from the main road).
I cannot recommend this place enough. What an absolute honor to be trusted with such a beautiful place. It really is a bit of heaven on earth.
Such a beautiful and serene cabin. Very cozy and not far from town. Deer everywhere! I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a nice getaway!
Casa Angeles was exactly as described, even better. Every thing we needed was there. It was also very clean and well furnished. We really enjoyed the location and the beautiful scenery. Very quiet and restful.
We enjoyed the eight nights and seven days we spent at Casa Angeles. The weather was cool, and the cabin was clean and quiet with pretty views from every window. We walked on the road in front of the cabin each morning--except Sunday--and on the walking trail in Lincoln National Forest each evening. Seeing deer and hummingbirds from the deck was especially enjoyable. We liked our meals at Casa Blanca and Cattle Baron, too. It's a great vacation getaway!
The owner was very nice and friendly. Cabin is real cute and just right for a family get away. We enjoyed the privacy and the space that you can not get in a hotel room.
Ruidoso is a ski resort village but summers are perfect. Cool temperatures make for great nature outings of all kinds. You can also find museums, shopping, horse racing, theater among the past times. At the Casa it's peace and quiet with wildlife and a good book that are the best.
Hiking, walking and being in nature is the big attraction at Casa A. The silence of the secluded area with the sound of Cedar Creek as it falls over beautiful rocks make it a perfect place to contemplate life and journal your heart out. New Mexico enacts measures to protect their night sky, therefore, the star gazing is wonderful on clear nights. When you tire of the silence, you can watch movies or listen to music or go into town and shop, visit the museums or reserve a night at the Spencer Theatre.
Ruidoso installed a fabulous 18 hole disc golf course at Grindstone Lake. It's mountain golf at it's best. This course hosted the New Mexico Disc Golf Championships here in 2013. If you don't have your own discs, there's some at the casa to use during your stay.
Other Activities: shopping, snowboarding, wildlife viewing, spa, mini golf
