Leysin is an incredible mountain village rising 1500 meters (4600 ft) into the Swiss Alps. Conveniently located only 90 minutes from Geneva in the Swiss Alps. You are nestled amongst the mountains and will constantly take in the breathtaking beauty of the Alps. Only a 20 minute drive down to amazing Lake Geneva - Montreux, Lausanne, Aigle, and other towns - and less than an hour from France.

A classy, cozy alpine retreat at a great value.

This spacious 2-bedroom apartment retreat is located in the heart of the Swiss Alps. It offers a magnificent unobstructed view of the Alps from its very large lanai/patio, with outside dining and sunbathing, The living room has a lovely fireplace, a thick hand-woven Moroccan carpet and a splendid voluptuous sofa which folds out into a king-size bed. Its newly refurbished American kitchen is decorated with a Moroccan tile wrought-iron table and chairs.

There are two bedrooms which can sleep one couple and 2 singles. The full-bathroom has both a bath and shower.

Leysin is known for its sunshine, pure air, wonderful skiing and bobsleigh school but is also very close to numerous other renowned ski resorts such as Gstaadt, Saanen, Château d'Oex, or the Glacier 3000 in Les Diablerets to name a few.

There is much to do in or around Leysin: Year- round hiking and skiing. Bobsled lessons from a former Olympic bobsled champion, Aqua-branch theme park, Acrobatic snowboarding, Rock-climbing, Paragliding and Delta-planing.

In winter, guests love to eat Swiss fondue or raclette in the 'Igloo' restaurant built from snow at the top of the slopes just outside of the big Panoramic Restaurant which turns 365° every hour. In addition, there are several excellent mountain refuge restaurants serving home-made dishes from locally produced foods. Numerous pubs, bars and night spots cater to Leysin's young international student population. Relaxing spas and pools are also available. Nearby Montreux offers gambling at the local Casino as well as the International Jazz Festival and other major events. Lavey-les-bains offers natural hot-water spring baths.

About The Owner

I am a former American-born French and British trained lawyer having suffered burn-out and having decided to make a major life change. I left the bar and now share my time between part-time teaching at an international hotel management school, this lovely cosy flat in the Swiss Alps and Zen House, my Riad Private Guesthouse in Marrakech, Morocco (VRBO Ref. 152266).

Why The Owner chose Leysin

I fell in love with the breath-taking beauty of the location of this Swiss alpine village (with its awesome view of the 'Dents du Midi' and the Glacier 3000 at 'Les Diablerets'), the innate kindness of its very international inhabitants, its dynamic young international student population (Leysin is home to several world-renowned universities and boarding schools catering to more than 100 different nationalities). If the sun is shining in the Swiss Alps it will shine in Leysin in this very open valley, known for its pure air and wonderful climate. I love the good winter skiing and summer mountain trekks it offers. I discovered a wonderful feeling of beauty and wellness when returning from a few days in Leysin which made me want to hang my hat there and nowhere else.

Indeed, the calm quiet atmosphere which reigns in Leysin allows me to charge my batteries before returning to my stressful work in Lausanne. There are wonderful mountain refuges serving homemade biologically grown products only found on-site. Leysin is one of the few remaining reasonable priced places in the Swiss Alps offering access to numerous neighboring famous ski resorts (Gstaadt, Saanen, Château d'Oex, Les Diablerets) as well as to water activites on the Leman Lake and such major cultural events as the International Jazz Festival in Montreux or the wonderful art exhibits at the Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny. Chamonix, France is only 90 minutes away on the other side of the valley.

Very well appointed apartment with gorgeous views down to the valley. The apartment is very comfortable with a nice, modern, well-equipped kitchen and a large balcony. Parking is right outside the entrance and there is common laundry in the building. We really enjoyed staying here and would recommend the apartment to anyone staying in Leysin.

We stayed in this lovely apartment two nights. The owner was most helpful, as was the caretaker, Jose. The location is a little bit of a hike from the train station but the view is worth every step. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well furnished (the grocery is only a short walk down the hill) and the floors are heated! That was a wonderful feature. The photos are very accurate as are the listing details. I would definitely recommend this property and hope we have the opportunity to return.

We stayed in this lovely flat during four days with our 2 kids. The flat was perfectly cleaned, we had lots of space for the four of us and it was the most perfect place for a few days of skiing. Leysin is a really lovely village; we totally fell in love with it. The skiing area is just perfect!
The owner is a real kind woman, she answers all the questions friendly and gives you the idea she'd like to make your stay perfect. we'll be back here for skiing next year!

We have stayed at a number of apartments throughout Europe and this was by far the cleanest and most comfortable place we've stayed. The pictures don't do it justice...incredible views in a great little village. The owner went above and beyond in answering our questions beforehand and during our stay. We ended up skiing in Leysin and were able to get discounts because we stayed at the apartment. The kitchen was great and there is a nice grocery store nearby. The flat is on a corner, and we never once heard the neighbors. I would certainly recommend this flat to anyone.

Our family enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was comfortable and plenty of room for family of four with older children.
Fantastic view, all expecting met.
