Great Deal and then some....
My family and I just spent a long weekend at this ranch house in Lake Harmony, PA. We were so pleased with our stay that I wanted to make sure we spread the word. First, the price can't be beat. You could easily pay double at any of the nearby ski mountains or resorts and get half the space. We would have paid nearly as much staying in the Best Western. Second, the location is great! This house would work well for either a summer or winter vacation. We were within walking distance (especially in warmer weather) to the Split Rock Resort which has the indoor waterpark (my three kids - 8,4,3 - loved it) and other activities for the kids (bowling alley, movie theatre, etc). The house sits right between Jack Frost and Big Boulder mountains if you like to ski/snowboard. We ended up going about 25 miles to Camelback where they have a larger snowtubing run that allows double tubes (Big Boulder only allows single riders which would mean our little ones couldn't tube). And of course, it's a short drive to most other poconos activities (we even drove about an hour to the Crayola factory). In the summer the house is a short walk to the lake where there is access to a community beach. Third, there were deer absolutely EVERYWHERE, especially late afternoon around dusk. The first night we were there we saw dozens (no exaggeration) of deer right in the backyard (something those of us from Brooklyn don't get to see everyday). Finally, the house was well taken care of, had plenty of room to sleep 10 (though we were only 5). If you are looking for "luxury" accommodations, then this probably isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, spacious place to stay at a very reasonable price, then look no further. The beds were comfortable...the kitchen was well enough equipped, the fireplace was great, the showers were hot and there wasn't a moment on our trip where we thought that there was anything essential missing from our stay!
Thanks, Frank! We hope to stay again!!!
