My husband and I spent May through August of 2011 in this house and we had a fantastic time! The South Lamar and South Congress neighborhoods are the place to be for restaurants, boutiques, art, and bars. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly and their home is clean and nicely decorated (the pictures don't do it justice!). Most mornings I would walk down to Austin Java for breakfast and people-watching, or to the Daily Juice for a dose of liquid veggies among the locals. I enjoyed my walks around the neighborhood checking out the funky architecture and Austinite style. Yes, Texas summers are hot, but our hosts gave us free reign over their air-conditioner and we were very comfortable even though we are used to Minnesotan temperatures. I would recommend this house to anyone and if you can't get a reservation, at least give Nick and Ann-Monique a call. They are lovely people :)
