THANK YOU for visiting my listing #339304. I hope Casa De Siesta LLC fits your needs, and that we can soon meet in person!

Hello future guest(s), my name is Richard and I am a Native New Mexican. My heart's desire is to offer an affordable, safe, and clean rental. And that's what I have achieved! My Casita is 980sqt. of beautiful and comfortable living space created and staged perfectly for you my guests. I live in the front home, on the property, so I am available to assist you if needed, but always respecting your privacy!

Look no further you have found a wonderful place to stay when visiting Albuquerque or New Mexico...

I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years and I am an award winning Chef and operated my own catering business for over 12 years. Along with managing the Vacation Home, I also have dealt in Antiques and Collectibles.

My hearts passion is seeing that my guest(s) feel like family and are comfortable in their new surroundings.

Being that I personally manage and live on the property, I am only steps away or a phone call away if you need anything. My family has lived in Albuquerque for many generations, and my ancestry is from Spain and France,

(of royal descent!), or so they say! (ha, ha).

As you will experience, Albuquerque and New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment, is a very special place to visit and live. Our weather is almost perfect, most of the time, with the most beautiful sunsets and mountains. A great asset for you the visitor is that I am very familiar with the City & surrounding areas and am always eager to share ideas and historical information!

As you will experience for yourself, the reason why I live in the Historic Downtown District is because it is truly a WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE! I enjoy all the rich culture and the diversity of the residents, the homes each with their own personality, nothing like cookie-cutter homes, a beautiful kaleidoscope of Heritage and ethnic flavor. My home is centrally located to most everything. The two freeways I-25 and I-40 are just a few miles from my door step. The Albuquerque International Sunport Airport is a mere 5.5 miles/10 min. drive as well.

One big reason I love the Downtown Area is because of it's charm and beautiful architectural designs of the homes and buildings: a combination of Victorian and Southwestern styles. This area is much more settled then most other parts of Albuquerque, the trees are larger and most folige is settled and grows beautifully in the Spring and just shows off during the Summer days! On Weekends the Downtown area is very calm and quiet being that all the workers leave for the weekend. It becomes your own little quiet getaway away from the hustle and bustle of daily work. And I extend a personal invitation for you and your loved one(s) to experience first hand!

I choose to walk daily for excercise, and the Downtown Historic District is VERY WALK-FRIENDLY and close to many tourist attractions. A few blocks West of the Casa is a Lower Corner Market a neighborhood grocery store, a full-service and self-service Laundromat blocks away. A Pizza Hut is just across the main street of the Casa as well as Fusion Latin Restaurant a local favorite featured on HGTV.

A bank and Subway Restaurant about 2 blocks East just a short walk away. Old Town and Route 66 is a 3 min drive, or a 15 min. walk away! It only takes about 25 min. to get to the base of the Sandia Mountains where you will be blown away by the vast beauty of our clear skys and outstanding unobstructed views, and Santa fe is only a 45 min. ride. A beautiful and magical city our State Capital. Can take Turqoise trail and go through Madrid, and old mining town, where Wild Hogs the movie was filmed.

Best locaation in Albuqueque

WE spent twelve delightful days at Richard's casita in Albuquerque. The fantastically equipped, welcoming casita made our stay beyond what we ever expected. Our host was prompt picking us up at the airport and most accommodating in meeting our every need. He took me to pickup our rental car and delivering us to the railroad station when our stay was over. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with him and learning about the city. The plethora of information about the area was very helpful in guiding our travels. The casita has every convenience one could desire as well as being spotlessly clean. The outside space is large and a special place to enjoy the sun. The area is safe and in walking distance to downtown and nearby attractions. Old Town with it's shops and restaurants is minutes away. We walked to the best bakery in the city. A supermarket is only three minutes walk from the casita and one of the best restaurants, Pasion Latin Fusion, is even closer. Anyone visiting Albuquerque would do well to stay in this property. We have stayed in VRBO properties all over the world and this is one of the best. Thank you Richard for your efforts and help to make our stay fabulous.

Richard is an excellent host and his Casita is so welcoming. I was at a conference and it was the perfect get away from meetings and crowds. I love cooking and his kitchen was better equipped than my own. The location is perfect, easy access to everywhere in Albuquerque. Definitely would recommend for a vacation or a work trip. There's a great little market in walking distance too. The neighborhood is so quiet and very safe. I walked around alone at night and felt very comfortable. Richard has put a lot of effort into the style and design of his place, so if you like lots of art and design, you'll appreciate it.

Casa De Siesta stay

We had a wonderful time at the Casa De Siesta. Richard has really gone overboard in anticipating anything that guests may want or need. The accommodations exceeded the photos online. The living room area was well set up with different areas to sit in and very comfortable, including the most comfy blanket/throw that I had ever seen. The kitchen had tons of dishes if you chose to cook. My husband was particularly taken with the plastic cover for warming items in the microwave. The bathroom was very nicely decorated. Even robes were provided, which I really appreciated. It had the best first aid kit I had ever seen. The outdoor area was absolutely amazing. So many different places to sit and enjoy the sunshine and decorated with a large variety of things to looks at. Richard has thought of everything to make you feel at home and he respects guests privacy. Of all the places we stayed on our vacation, we kept comparing everything to Richard's place! We felt very safe there. Easy access to Old Town and our favorite restaurant for New Mexican food, Garcia's. I still dream of the green chiles, sopapillas and going back to Richard's casita. We are looking forward to returning when we are able to. Highly recommended!

Hubby and I absolutely loved our stay in this lovely casita. Richards attention to every little detail shows his love for his business. From the luscious chocolate piñon coffee beans, fresh donuts, super plush bath towels and just all the special touches he adds to make sure you feel at home. If you need any ideas on where to go and what to do, he has them. And if you don't feel like leaving this lovely cozy casita, you won't miss out on a thing. All the comforts of home are right here. Enjoy the yard that he has set up just for relaxation. A little bit of heaven on earth. We felt completely safe in this older neighborhood, which is located very close to Old Town ABQ. We can't wait to go back for our private cooking class and perhaps time to truly relax. Thank you Richard for your truly gentlemanly spirit. You are a ROCKSTAR.

Casita sans WIFI

We would have given this experience a five star except we were unable to connect to WIFI. This is important to me and it was stated in the advertising that it was available. I use WIFI in my travels and I have never had any trouble connecting. The owner was unable to help me. He should get up to speed on how to have his guests connect to make it a truly 5 star for those that desire WIFI.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing
Owner's Response: I was saddened to receive my first and hopefully last three star rating out of over 35 - 5 star reviews from guests from all over the country and world...Why? because I have and always go above and beyond for my guests...I offer more amenities than most people who are listed on vrbo. I offer a affordable, safe, private and a clean place for people to stay in and they have always enjoyed themselves, and many have returned three or four times...I love my job of being hospitable to others that is my heart, unfortunately I did not really know that the wifi was that important to these guests...I have never had any other guest complain about the wifi, I understand that notebook devices sometimes they don't work as well with wifi, but lap tops are always fine...???
I have had over 100 guests stay in my Casita and all of them have been more then satisfied with the whole experience, so I apologize to these guests who based there whole stay on wifi versus all the other amenities I supplied...I understand that at times, we can not please everyone...I am only sorry that I was given a rating of 3. When I know in my heart these guests, like all the past, have only experienced a 5 star Casita...I will continue to put my whole heart into my Casita, so the next guest will be even more happy...
