Description of the Gumefens vacation farmhouse rental

The Gruyère is a scenic and beautiful landscape, situated on the countryside of Fribourg. It is well known for it's milk products, e.g. Gruyère Cheese and the Cailler chocolate worldwide. The region is, although very scenic, it has been completely protected from mass tourism. You have the possibility for all out-door-activities. Sport and leisure activites; in a few minutes drive, you will reach the Alpine Ski regions of Moléson, Charmey and La Berra.

Gumefens lies in Canton Freiburg/Fribourg. The canton is bilingual, German and French. The official language is German and mostly understood and spoken. English is also understood. In approximately 30 minutes, one reaches the exclusive city of Gstaad and further the glacier skiing area Les Diableret. There are outstanding cross-country-ski-runs around the mount Gibloux and from Charmey to Jaun a few autominutes away. Of course, any kind of biking, hiking and horse riding is also possible. On the lake gruyère one can sail, Windsurfing, fishing and also swimming. Motorboats are permitted up to 8 HP. Offers for sail turns and motorboats ,as well as water-skiing in the lake areas of Neuenburger, Bieler and Murten are made.

Notes: The house is a historical former 100 years farmhouse, built in complete timber construction. The ceilings are low, approximately 2 metres. This results, in connection with the antigue furniture and wood, brings a cosy ambience. On the ground floor is the entrance, the living room, with a view of lake gruyère and a kitchen-cum-living room. On the top floor, you have 2 double bedrooms and bathroom with tub, wash hand basin and WC. From one of the double rooms, there is an accessible chamber which is ideal for a child, Ensuite.

Everything is close: If you would like to experience different worlds spontaniously and at the same time, within a few minutes of drive, you are here in the right place. Within 15 minutes, you will reach the beautiful and historical university town of Fribourg and in approximately 30 minutes, the capital city, Bern. Maybe you prefer it chic, and like to visit a casino. Vevey and Montreux, with it's palm trees along the lake Geneva can be reached in about 20minutes. The lake Neuchatel, is also about 30 minutes with car. This lake is connected with the Murten and Bieler lakes, one of the largest lakes regions in Europe and paradise for water-sports of all sorts. Alpine and Nordic cross-country ski run are right in front of the door, in 5 regions. In about 45 minutes, one can reach, as mentioned earlier, the exclusive Gstaad. But of course, if you like you can just stay in our wonderful and scenic Gruyère and just enjoy our Fribourg Alps. The Kids would love our surrounding farms with it's domestic animals.

Sightseeing: The Fortress Gruyère, Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory in Broc, and much more.

Ski: Alpine Ski, within 15 minutes, La Berra, Moléson, Charmey, Jaun, Jaun Pass, Nordic Rossens.

Golf: The 18-hole golf course Pont-La Ville is from the property in range of vision. It lies beautifully above the lake and has a beautiful clubhouse with a restaurant and a hotel. Further golf courses are within 25 car minutes.
