THE COTTAGE AT HARBOUR OAKS

Overlooking the historic Pass Christian Yacht Harbor (only one of three 19th century resort harbors with Cape May and Newport being the other two) and Gulf of Mexico, this adorable Acadian cottage offers all the amenities one expects of Southern hospitality and charm. The cottage has three large bedrooms, two baths, a very large living room and kitchen plus a utility room with washer and dryer. The back yard is picket fenced and ready for your pet. Sitting on the front porch at sunset watching the boats come in the harbor melts away all tensions of the day.

The sugar white beaches stretch twenty six miles. A boat launch is across the street with trailer storage on the property. Fresh fish, oysters, crab and shrimp are for sale at the harbor on a daily basis. Charter boat fishing or fishing from the harbor gazebos (across the street) avail those interested in sport fishing.

Being in the heart of the Historic District, restaurants abound within walking distance as well as antique shops and boutiques. Historic mansions and centuries old live oak trees line Scenic Drive.

Las Vegas style casinos are minutes away in Gulfport and Biloxi and New Orleans is just an hour away. For those golfers, there are 20 PGA courses on the Coast with three being in Pass Christian: a world class Arnie Palmer couse at The Bridges, The Oaks and Pass Christian Isle.

Many wonderful events occur here on the Coast bringing in people from all over the country. The cottage is located on the Pass Christian Mardi Gras Parade route (the second largest Mardi Gras parade on the entire Gulf Coast) and we always have a huge buffet for friends and guests. St. Paul's seafood festival is in June and right down the street. Art in the Pass is a juried art show in April and Christmas in the Pass is a huge draw. But, best of all is 'Crusin the Coast'. At Harbor Oaks you have a front row seat watching the thousands of antique cars 'crusin' between Bay St. Louis and Biloxi, These are but a few of the many festivals on the Coast.

Whether browsing the library four doors down, playing croquet in the front yard or taking your chances at the many casinos, you will find all the elements for a perfect and fun vacation at Harbour Oaks. We look forward to pampering you.

I stayed at Harbor Oaks for a period of 6 weeks while working in Gulfport. There were 3 of us in the cottage and it was ideal. The night we moved in was super bowl Sunday and Diane immediately had us over to watch the game and enjoy a wonderful feast. The location is ideal for those having time to enjoy it which, unfortunately, we did not . The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we would need and more. Diane could not have been a better hostess and I would recommend this to anyone who is coming to the Gulf for a visit.

Owner's Response: it was quite an honor to have tissy and her co workers stay. her group sponsors a very popular hunter/jumper show here on the coast "the Gulf Coast Classic". horsemen from all over the united states as well as other countries participate. each year it becomes more and more popular. it has become one of the coast's best attractions and lasts 6 weeks from feb-mid march. i highly recommend it to anyone and everyone who appreciates fine horsemanship. thank you tissy, i appreciate so much your kind comments and i surely enjoyed getting to know you and hope that i might have the opportunity to see you again.

Lovely cottage near beach, restaurants

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Harbour Oaks Cottage for three nights. Diane was a lovely hostess and made us feel right at home. The furnishings, the location, and the overall vibe were very homey and comfortable. Everything is close; we walked to the beach, the marina, several restaurants, and a farmer/artist market at a large park -- all with seven-year olds and usually with our dog, too. We were very glad to find such a comfortable dog-friendly cottage. For other area attractions, the seven-year-olds (and adults) enjoyed the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport (20-30 min away).

Wonderful property owner---Comfy, spacious, clean….

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this spacious home with our two kids very much. The home was clean and had lots of room to spread out unlike a hotel. The beds were very soft and comfy. The house felt safe and was ideally located around services. We enjoyed bumming around the many beaches and coastal towns. Our deposit was refunded in a short few days and Diane was kind enough to let me know we had left something behind and mailed it along with our refund check. Thanks Diane.

Owner's Response: dear mary, it was my pleasure to mail back your mirror. there have been many times i've left something at a hotel/motel and would call immediately to see if it had been found...only to meet with a negative response...always. it has become a very sore subject with me and i vowed i would never disappoint any of my guests that way. thank you for your kind comments and hope to have you visit the coast again. it really is quite a wonderful place down here....i'm its biggest advocate and fan!!!!! diane

Just what we were looking for !

  • 5 of 5

We recently traveled to Pass Christian, MS and met our daughter, her husband & 2 small boys, ages 6 & 2 for a weeks vacation @ Harbour Oaks Cottage. It was a wonderful time for everyone, there was ample room for all of us, the furnishings were great and the kitchen was a great place to cook and visit around the table. One day we bought fresh shrimp and tuna across the street at the Marina and made a low country boil, it was awesome !! Nothing like fresh ingredients to make a meal even more delicious !!

We enjoyed the warm Gulf waters and the white sand beaches, we practically had it all to ourselves, so we felt we could safely leave our things on the beach without having to stay with it the whole time. It was great for the boys, because the water is shallow enough & there are no waves, so they could play in it without worrying too much about them being knocked over with waves and getting in too deep. It was our 2 yr old grandson's first beach trip and he had a blast. There were lots of hermit crabs, herons, and even dolphins playing within sight. Across the street from the cottage is Bacchus on the Beach, which is great, as well as Shaggy's seafood at the Marina. There are parks close by with play sets for the kids as well. We also traveled a few miles up the road and took the kids to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center and to The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies,... both were great places for the kids ( and us big kids too ) with very reasonable admission fees.

Diane, the owner, is a wonderful and accommodating hostess, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to get to know,... we hope to make it back that way again, we really enjoyed our time at the Pass !!

Owner's Response: dear billie, i am very happy that your family had such a fun and warm reunion. what makes me go "soft and mushy" is hoping that when the kids are adults they will have a memory of harbour oaks and the good time they had here. i know, even at my (ahem) mature age, i can still remember vacations with my mom and dad when i was a little girl. may your family have many, many more such memories. diane
