My four adult children are responsible, self-supporting, environmentally conscious professionals with exceptional credit scores. I am understandably proud of them!
I am a high energy, physically active beyond mid-life woman who loves to read, write & travel. Last year I visited the Turkish cities of Istanbul, Ephesus and Kusdasi. As a young woman I worked as a tour guide in Turkey and my first child was born in Ankara.
With the single exception of North Dakota, I have visited all 50 states, traveled in more than two dozen countries and lived in four.
Originally from Asheville, the Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains draw me in, hold me in their embrace and always, I consider the NC mountains my spiritual home.

Eventually I may move from the Mississippi Gulf Coast to live closer to my daughter, her partner & my grandchildren. Until then I wanted to have a rental and mountain get-away for myself where I may putter, enjoy time alone and do some creative writing.
The outdoor options for sport and recreation are fantastic, and there are fascinating cultural, natural and human-made sites to visit.

As a person in Real Estate who specializes in property management I was very impressed. This tranquil home has a rural feeling and yet in a urban area. We had a great time and would definitely go back! We stayed for just a night to go to the choose and cut Christmas Tree Farm and wish we could have stayed longer. The fully supplied kitchen had more than enough equipment/supplies for us and we loved the layout of the home. It worked perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed going out back at the fire pit roasting marshmellows, while having the view of the mountain tops. Within walking distance of the shops downtown West Jefferson was a plus for sure! The rental process was an absolute breeze; especially the quick response for confirmation! We made last minute plans and the process was so smooth. I would recommend this property to any age group looking to do anything (or nothing) in the mountains.
GRANDMOTHERS HOUSE WE GO. We are motorcyclist and could not of picked a greater place. Miriam home is magical, cozy, warm, and delightful. From the time you walk in until you leave, you are surrounded by her entire family and the love they have for each other. ENDLESS LOVE, THERE IS NO BEGINNING OR END, JUST IS. A piece of my heart was healed by being at Marian house. Thank you
A friend and I went there for a writing retreat, and I truly could not have asked for anything better. The house was lovely and comfortable, and the setting was gorgeous! The downtown was fun to visit as well, with some good restaurants. I heartily recommend this place!
I was at Marian Manor to write without the routine distractions of daily home and city life, therefore, I sought a quiet home in a quiet town. I got plenty of both in a comfortable and well-furnished home plus the beauty of the North Carolina mountains and the charming town of West Jefferson only a short walk away. Marian Manor had everything I needed for cooking nice meals to friendly directions and advice for finding my around town and taking advantage of the NC mountains. If you're looking for comfort, peace and quiet, then I highly recommend Marian Manor.
Marian Manor provided everything we needed and more. It is nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. We slept comfortably with windows open, and enjoyed the delightful weather that West Jefferson offered for the July 4th weekend. We were visiting family and taking advantage of the fact that Christmas in July was happening all over town. There's no question about the five star rating. We highly recommend Marian Manor and look forward to a return visit.
This house was just lovely and very roomy for my family. It was clean and accommodating. I absolutely loved it. I am actually staying again in July. It is also very close to restaurants and bars down the street as well as shops in Downtown Jefferson.
