AFFORDABLE LAKE HOME UP TO 2 PETS EAST OF EAGLE RIVER

Eagle River House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms on lake, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 7 in beds)

We love the open floor plan of the kitchen, dining and living room. The house is apx. 1400 square feet finished, conventient one level, and retro decor. We have a detached garage that you are welcome to use as well as anything in it, like the water toys and two adult bikes. Toward the east side of the home is the 278-acre Bass Lake, where we enjoy 100 feet of private frontage. Max lake depth is 16' - plenty deep for waterskiing and tubing. We have two story windows overlooking a terraced rock pathway to our pier, bench and seasonal 12' rowboat with 6 horsepower outboard motor. We take the pier out any time after October 15, so if you choose this time period, the pier may or may not be available. The wood fireplace and cathedral ceilings in the living room make this the place where you'll love to hang out. We have patio chairs on the covered deck overlooking the lake, and a charcoal barbeque. Inside, enjoy privacy on the lake side queen bed bedroom with sliding glass doors. The other bedroom has a double bed and a twin bed. The hide-a-bed in the living room sleeps two. We'd like to make your stay very easy to plan, comfortable and enjoyable. We don't allow smoking. Up to two pets are welcome - no more, no exceptions. We furnish two adult life jackets, two child life jackets, water toys, games, puzzles, and a 10-speed bike.

Plan on bringing your own disposable items like paper products, soaps, charcoal and lighter fluid, and we'll supply the clean linens, house towels and kitchen ware. You'll want to bring your own beach towels, fishing gear, skiis or snowmachine, depending on when you're visiting! Bring your cell phone because there is no phone service. We have ice cube trays, but you may choose to bring extra ice. Bass Lake has no public boat launch, but your private boat can be tied up at our pier. Big Bass Resort allows you to launch there during restricted times and for a fee. We allow eight people maximum occupancy. June, July and August book for a weekly rate only. However, if the calendar shows open within two weeks of your arrival, you can reserve at a three night minimum rate. If you can't stay the whole time, no problem, there is a lockbox entry code so you can arrive any time after 3 pm. Your $500 damage deposit is returned if you depart by 10:00 am, general clean up is done, and no unreasonable wear and tear occurs. Our rates include taxes and cleaning and pets. Contact us for a contract and reservation and let us help make your vacation dreams come true. We want your repeat business and appreciate your helpful suggestions! We think you should try us out! We ask for your guest reviews after you visit. We review your comments and strive to improve any perceived problem. You should try us out and see if you are one of the guests who love this home!

RENTAL FOR POND HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

  • 4 of 5
Rented this house for a 3 day pond hockey tournament on Dollar Lake. We were a group of 7 guys in our mid 30's & 40's. The hi-fi and collection of LPs from the 70's and 80's was a big hit with the older guys of our group. The driveway and access road were plowed and walkway to the house was shoveled. Temperatures were cold outside (as low as -24 F), but had no issue in the home maintaining comfortable temps of 66 to 68F. However, the floor was cold with stocking feet in many locations. The decor is 'classic old lake house' probably dating back to the 70's or 80's (like the LPs). The house had all of the necessary basic features. Our use of the kitchen items were limited to the coffee maker, cutting board, and refrigerator. The hot water heater (as expected), became cool for the last couple of guys getting to shower before going out for dinner. The house has 3 beds (queen, twin, and full) in cabin; we supplemented with 3 blow up beds and one guy on couch. There was plenty of floor space. The view of the lake is nice from the rear of the home, even in winter. The TV is small (< 20 inch) and is a bit tricky to work. The coffee maker does not have a shut-off feature. The rental agency folks were helpful and responsive to emails and a phone call. Overall the house worked well for us and we enjoyed the vintage feel.

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED

  • 5 of 5
This was my first experience renting a home for a mini-vacation and I was so very pleased with my choice of property. The home was the perfect size, not too big, not too small. It was very private and serene. The lake was clean and very nice to swim in.
There was everything that we needed in the kitchen and the entire place was very neat, clean and so retro!
Thank you for the great long weekend away!

HAPPY ANGELER

  • 4 of 5
The pictures and description of the cabin were spot on. My husband and I had a great time at this house. The house is straight out of the 70's for sure. The lake had great fishing, the area around the house was very wooded and fun to explore through. The area restaurants/sites were very fun. I would definitely say that this house would only be suitable for 1 family or 2 couples. It is listed as a 2 bedroom for a reason. The 2 bedrooms in the house are pretty good other wishing that the master bed had come with some sort of pillowtop (we could feel the springs). The third bedroom shown with bunkbeds is in the garage and is miserable.
We had fun playing the old records, fishing off the dock, using the boat/motor to fish. The kitchen/dining room/living room were very functional and had everything we could've needed. We would also recommend the following in the area: Lumpy's Bar, Soda Pops, Elmer's Fun Place, Otto's Beer Garden (in minocqua), and Michael's italian restaurant.

Owner's Response: Hi Megan,
Wow, I'm thrilled you had a great time and good fishing! We are pleased to report that the next guests should happily enjoy a new pillow top for the master bedroom. Thanks for taking the time to help us make it better and better. - Jo

STEP BACK IN TIME

  • 5 of 5
The place is just as advertised. Don't expect something modern or an authentic cabin. We are assuming it was built in the 60's and it still has all the original looks and feel. Right down to the turn table, speakers and great collection of vinyl albums. The floor to ceiling windows offer a fantastic view of the lake. It was a very comfortable home with all the right amenities for us. A great open concept and a great gathering space to cook together or just listen to the music. There were some stairs (stone) down to the water but nothing too far or too hard at all. The lake is not open to the public which might make it tough to put you own boat in but there is a way to do it through a resort on the lake. Can't tell you about the fishing as it was pretty non-existent but due to the weather issues this Spring it was off all over in the Eagle River area. I would highly recommend it, the property manager, Jo and the owner Mark. They both were really enjoyable to work with. We will be back! B & L

Owner's Response: Aw, how sweet! Thanks for your perfect descriptions. I really strive to have all the information available so people can find their perfect get-a-way. We'll hope to see you again. www.bigbassresort.com has agreed to allow our renters use of their boat launch area for a direct fee to the renters. That is located on the west side of the lake as well. They prefer Saturday launches/retrieves, but will accommodate at other times with request in advance. Jo

FAMILY WITH PUPPY

  • 4 of 5
The view from the cabin is priceless and the lake so beautiful. Our favorite place was the bench on the end of the walkway so peaceful, especially early in the morning and in the evening.
The cabin itself has a great layout and the rooms are big and airy. Style is a very personal taste, not mine more in the 70th. It seams a little dated, but however the surfaces were clean and the house was ready for us.
We had a great time and the neighbors were very nice, friendly and helpful.
Location is great, we can recommend the "Wicked Grill" and had fun with the girls playing miniature golf close by.

Owner's Response: Hi Sabine. I will pass on your good comments to the house cleaner. We are happy it met your expectations for cleanliness. Yes, the 70 s look is alive and well with the big globes and huge record collection. Hope the girls enjoyed the nice sand and clear, clean lake. Stay in touch and we would love to have you visit again. Sincerely, Jo

EAGLE RIVER STAY JUNE 2012

  • 2 of 5
I was a bit disappointed in the cabin. It appeared that no one took the time to come and check the place before we arrived. It was pretty clear that we were the first renters of the year. The frig was not plugged in upon our arrrival and since we had food that needed to stay cold it was an inconvenice to have to buy more ice until the frig cooled down. There were spiders all over and dead bugs all over the cupboards. The cabin itself was a nice set up and could be a gold mind if someone gave it a bit more TLC by decluttering it and cleaning it. The fire place still had ashes in it from winter. There was a list of things that had to be done on the frig and it doesn't appear any of the jobs had been completed before our arrival. The outdoor patio chairs and table were filthy and had to be wiped down before we could sit out on the patio. If I new that the place would be cleaned up, we would stay there again but at this time I don't have much faith. We did enjoy listening to the records. We actually left the place in better condition than when we arrived

Owner's Response: Hi Lynn,
I am sorry the place wasn't as clean as either of us expected. The owner scheduled the cleaner, but something must have gone awry. The cleaning person must not have completed the jobs. I sure hope you will come again and see the place as it normally looks.
Sincerely,
Manager Jo
