Just spent two months at this lovely Arena Beach apartment! The listing description was more than accurate. We were completely surprised as the apartment was quite large by North American standards. And we were overwhelmed by, and very thankful for, the "welcome package" of food and drink Vicky had supplied for us as we were extremely jetlagged after our long flight and much too tired for grocery shopping for a couple of days!! The furnishings were very comfortable, especially in the master suite. The washrooms were well equipped, complete with shower lotion and sponges. The kitchen facilities exceeded our expectations - very important for us as we cooked most of our meals at home. The abundance of dishes, utensils, and pots and pans saved us from having to use the dishwasher daily. Laundry facilities were great, and we loved the fresh air smell on our clothing. And beach towels were provided as well. The listing photos were lovely, but the apartment is actually nicer than the photos depicted. Everything had been well cleaned before we arrived, and it was obvious that Vicky takes great pride in her rental. She was always available to us, both during the rental process and after we arrived in Spain. And her apartment manager, Ella, was phenomenal as our go-to person for information on events in and around Estepona, as well as directions to points of interest. Having spent nine months travelling in major cities in both the US and Canada, spending two months on Arena Beach afforded us total relaxation. We were just a 10- and 15-minute walk to both supermarkets, Aldi and Mercadona. Gym facilities were available for purchase at the five-star Hotel Elba next door, and we bought passes for each month. Estepona Port was within walking distance, but the bus stop and taxi stop were both near the hotel as well. We took advantage of guided day tours to Granada, Cordoba, Seville, and Tangiers. We also visited Gibraltar and Cadiz when our friends from Canada came to visit for a week. Recommendations in town - Sunday market (Estepona Port), weekly night market (esplanade), Elemi Wellness (salon/spa), Elemi Bistro (vegetarian), Antonio's Cafe, Chiringuito Central (restaurant), Calle Real and Calle Terrazo (shopping), SuperSol and Carrefour (supermarkets), Cristo Beach, and Sun Time Tours. We loved this property and would recommend it to travellers looking for some serious beach R & R while still being close to the amenities in town. Overall, our experience was fabulous!
