Imagine yourself relaxing on a hammock, nestled between fragrant pine trees, steps from the water. Gentle waves lap the shore, and the sparkling water of crystal clear Lake Ossipee beckons you to swim, sail, canoe, kayak, or water-ski from your private beach. Enjoy hot, sunny days, followed by cocktails and dinner at sunset on the deck, and crisp, clear evenings where you can sit on the dock and count falling stars. Enjoy all this and more when you make yourselves at home in our lovely, comfortable vacation lake house on beautiful Broad Bay on Lake Ossipee. There are two bedrooms with two twin beds in each, a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, and a fourth bedroom overlooking the water with a queen bed. Our lake house is situated on a large private lot on the most sought-after, exclusive side of Broad Bay, with a gentle slope down to the water and the dock. You'll find linens and towels, a piano, gas grill, fully equipped kitchen, dock, two kayaks, canoe, and a raft!! Please note we are replacing the water rebounder (shown in photos from Summer 2013) with a raft for Summer 2014 for safety reasons.
My family has vacationed on and been enchanted by Lake Ossipee ever since my brothers, sister and I were young children. I bought this lake house to continue the tradition with my children, and am sharing it through homeaway with other families.
Couldn't have asked for a better week at the lake - only if it had not rained all week, but we made the most of it. The property was exactly what was advertised and we enjoyed it just like the advertisement said we would! We saw lots, shopped lots, ate lots and completely relaxed! Even heard the pair of Loons that live on the lake. Can't wait to go back.
Our family of 4 stayed at this lakeside property for a week in July. We all enjoyed the experience. The house is nestled among pines with a short path to the lake. It is quite large with bedrooms (4 total) flanking the kitchen and large living room. The deck is large and private and a great spot to sit and linger. The house interior is well appointed with old appliances and bathrooms, but they work fine. Our boys enjoyed exploring the woods, the lake via the boats, and the water trampoline. The water was amazingly warm in July, perfect for swimming. In all, a great family destination, relaxing, but with lots to do.
We had a great week at this property. It was very clean and stocked with just about everything we could have needed.
The layout was great for us---my wife and I slept in the bedrooms at one end of the house and our daughter and family slept in the bedrooms at the other end of the house--privacy for all but all in one place!
The cathedral ceiling and stone fireplace in the living room were awesome. Deck and view were nice.
Only drawback was the walkway to and from the dock, steps uneven and covered with slippery pine needles.
We absolutely loved this beach house. Lake Ossipee is beautiful and it is just steps away from the house. There are two kayaks, a canoe, a row boat, an awesome trampoline, loungers, and a warm, beautiful lake to swim in. The house itself was perfect for our family- my husband and I, our son, our daughter, her husband and their three children, ages 8,5,and 3. The living room was roomy, comfortable, a TV and DVD player, a piano (we had so much fun playing), books, a game playing table, a lovely deck right off of the living room with a gas grill and a charcoal grill. The four bedrooms were perfect- two on one side of the house, two on the other. Towels and linens were provided and the towels were large and soft!! There is no air conditioning but each bedroom had a fan and the evenings cooled off so nicely that we didn't need them. The kitchen and dining room were well stocked with everything you would need to cook and eat with. We ate at the house 6 nights of our stay (the 7th we went to Bay Haven Restaurant in Cornish, Maine for delicious lobsters at the recommendation of the owner). Like the other reviewer said, there was no shopping nearby which meant having to drive about 15 miles up to North Conway for food and other things. But there were so many wonderful things to see and do nearby and always the wonderful lake and lakefront to come home to. We highly recommend this home for your next vacation!
We had a great time at this house on Broad Bay in Freedom, NH. The property was very nice off a dirt road and right on Broad Bay. The deck looks right out on Broad Bay and across to a girls camp. It was a fantastic view. The water was warm and very enjoyable. The float was great fun! Everything you needed was provided. The owner was very attentive with her directions and very generous. I would strongly recommend this property for a family vacation during the summer months. I can also see it being a great location to get away from it during the early summer and fall. The internet service was great. Grocery shopping is a little trip (20 minutes) but you're in a great location to visit the Lakes Region or North Conway/White Mountains. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to others.
You'll marvel at the mountain views, look forward to the melody of 'Taps' played every evening at the camp across the lake, and have ample opportunity to walk, hike the White Mountains, bike, make campfires on the beach, hear the call of the loons, savor local lobster and wild blueberries, and make memories that last a lifetime.
